There was a knock on my door. “Come in,” I said.

“Honey, I brought you some tea,” My mom said as she entered my bedroom. She sighed when she saw me staring out of the window, biting on the back of a pencil. She walked to my desk and leaned against it, standing next to me. “Is there a possibility you will tell me what happened in Korea?”

I turned to look at her, not having paid attention to her until she spoke to me directly.

I shook my head. “Nope,”

“But, ___,” She looked down in my eyes. She looked quite worried. “It’s been months since you came back, you haven’t told me anything yet,”

I shrugged, wanting to skip the rest of the conversation. I had to study, that was what I was doing. University was important and I had to do well on all the exams.

“Was there a guy?”

I looked back at her with an annoyed look on my face. The question I absolutely hated, she always asked me that, ever since I was young. At first I never answered, but after a while I gave in and she always manages to give me false hope.

 “Mom!” I shouted. “Please,” I made it sound as if her question was stupid, even though she had hit the bulls eye.

She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. “Well, honey, here’s your tea,” She turned around and put the glass with orange/brownish liquid on my desk. “And if you want to talk, I‘ll be downstairs,”

I could dream that last sentence, she always ended every conversation we had with that sentence.

I turned around, stood up from my chair and walked to my closet. I hesitated a few seconds. Asking myself if I really wanted to see them, again. I bit on my lip and thought about it, but I couldn’t resist it.

I opened the closet and pulled one of the shoeboxes out of it, taking it to my bed. I sat down and put the shoebox on my lap, still unsure if I wanted to remember myself of all those things.

I wasn’t going to make this all easier.

It was an ordinary shoebox, a really old one to be honest, but what it contained wasn’t that ordinary. I sighed heavily. I knew that what I was doing wasn’t going to help, it only made the feeling of regret come back. But I just couldn’t help it.

I lifted the top of the shoebox and put it next to me. There was the pair. A faint smile made it’s way on my lips and I took one of the sneakers out of the box. I smiled.

The pair of sneakers Ji Yong had given me. I closed my eyes and thought about it. He had given them to me because I only had heels, which weren’t comfortable to him. I shook my head, the smile not leaving my face. This was the only memory that was left of him, that was touchable.

Then a thought filled my mind, a thought that made my smile disappear immediately. Remembering myself that there was no memory left of him…

“Hyung, what’s the matter with you these days?”

TOP sat down on one of the chairs in an annoyed rage. His group members were just staring at him looking surprised.  He sighed heavily and angry, shaking his head.

“Hyung?” Asked Taeyang.

“It’s just not working,” He said in a low, angry growl. “Not today,”

The group members exchanged looks before looking back at TOP.

“It’s not just today,” Taeyang said. “You’ve been like this the past weeks,” TOP looked up at them, his expression suddenly showing surprise. “You’ve been out now for quite a while, what’s wrong?” Taeyang asked in his calm voice.

TOP sighed again and looked away, letting his head fall in defeat. “My mind’s just on it,”

It was somewhere, way different. He didn’t even know where, but he did know with whom it was.
