After a stressful hour, there were only 4 members remaining to get their injections. With the successful outcome of the previous 8 members, the tension in the room had almost disappeared along with the worries of death – almost.

“Well, who’s next?” Yunho asked as he scanned the remaining members: Suho, Tao, Sehun, and D.O.

“I’ll go,” Suho volunteered as he stepped forward to receive his injection. Seconds later, Suho was apologizing profusely for accidently flooding the room when trying out his powers. He made it up to everyone by reabsorbing the water that soaked all of your clothes with a sheepish smile on his face.

Tao was up next, and luckily his sudden outburst of power did little to effect you all, but you knew something had happened when drawings were suddenly plastered over the faces Two Moons. You stifled your laughter, and watched as Chen high fived Tao out of the corner of your eyes.

“Very funny,” Yunho muttered as he wiped down his face with a wet towel. “Next?”

“You can be last, maknae,” D.O grinned as he shot forward to sit in the chair. “Boy am I looking forward to the cool things I’ll be able of doing.”

Yunho rolled his eyes as he completed the procedure before injecting the substance into D.O’s arm.

“Wow, you guys are right,” D.O stated as he hopped off the chair after Yunho pulled away. “I really don’t feel any more powerful than before – if anything, I actually feel kind of weaker.”

“Before you try out your powers, please refrain from destructing the room,” Jaejoong sighed. “I really can’t afford anything to be broken.”

“No promises,” D.O laughed goodheartedly. He held out his hands, and tried to focus his power in a particular area to spare Two Moons of any further damage.

When nothing happened, however, he began to worry.

“Well?” Junsu asked with crossed arms. “You can try out your power, you know, we won’t blame you if something breaks.”

“You don’t understand,” D.O paled as his arms came swinging to his sides. “I was trying.”

Everybody in the room immediately froze at the other’s words.

“What… what do you mean, Hyung?” Sehun asked with a horrified expression across his face.

D.O slowly brought his hands in front of him, and stared miserably into the palms of his hand. “I mean they’re gone. My powers are gone.”

“I’m sure it’s just a mistake,” Suho stated nervously.

“We don’t make mistakes,” Changmin repeated the words he had spoken earlier, but this time with a much more somber tone.

Now D.O began to panic.

“What’s happened? What’s going on?” D.O stated as he tried to summon his power. His eyes lit up once a tiny plant stem appeared in the palm of his right hand, but the hope disappeared once the stem vanished as quick as it had appeared. He slammed his fist against the wall and his chest heaved as he took heavy breaths. “What the happened?!”

“Ah, I guess this is the 10% failure,” Yoochun stated as he awkwardly scratched the back of his head. “It’s unfortunate to say, but you’ve lost your powers.”

D.O’s already large eyes double in size at the other’s words. He yanked his collar, and slammed him roughly against the wall. “What the are you talking about?! How can you say that in such a nonchalant tone?!”

“Well, I knew all of you couldn’t end up with successes,” Yoochun shrugged, unfazed by the other’s violent act. “I personally believed that at least two of you would die, but I guess the odds were in your favor.”

The silence that stretched across the room after Yoochun’s words seemed to last forever, until D.O stomped out of the room and slammed the door behind him.

“Sehun, you’re next,” Kris stated quietly as he stared at the swinging door.

Sehun took a deep gulp of air, and reluctantly took the seat in front of Yunho. Now the reality of failure or death was crashing in for him. He held his breath as Yunho did the procedures, and refused to look at the needle that was soon piercing his skin.

After Yunho withdrew the needle, Sehun stood slowly onto his feet. He didn’t want to try out his powers – what if he lost them as well?

“Well?” Luhan asked gently with a hopeful expression.

With a deep breath, Sehun held out his hand, and relief washed over him when a wicked wind blew everybody across the room.

You ignored the painful feeling that shot through your body when you slammed against a table and let out a deep breath of relief.  They were all okay – well, almost all of them.

Although they were all satisfied that none of the members had fallen victims to death, they could not celebrate due to the sympathy they held for D.O. They knew that out of all of them, D.O was the one he valued his powers the most. They were his pride, his strength, his happiness - and now it was just gone. All the hours D.O had spent working in the workhouse alone after the rest of you left would be regarded as useless now that his powers were gone. Despite not losing their own, each of the members felt like they were in their brother's shoes - as if they had lost something valuable to themselves as well.

“I’ll go look for him,” you murmured quietly before leaving the room.
