Helping out

My Bodyguard Princess

"WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING HERE?" Byul shrieked in surprise, stumbling back.

Chanyeol and Baekhyun rushed forward to help her, but Byul only took another step back. She pinched herself and winced at the pain. "What the...you two are real?" she coughed. "What are you two doing here?" she hissed.

She patted Jaeho's head. "Jaejae, sit here and don't move okay?" she whispered.

She yanked both prince's robes and dragged them to a deserted corner in the bushes. She turned to them, her eyes flaring with irritation, disbelief. "Do you have any idea where this is?" she demanded. "This is my house! If anyone knows you two are princes...." she shook her head.

"Oh. We didn't think about that." Baekhyun muttered, looking at Chanyeol. He nudged Byul. "Don't you think you could find us normal commoner's clothings?"

Byul's eyes were wider than they already were. "Commoner clothings?" she half-shrieked. "What do you want them for?" she asked a little too loudly. She looked back at her hut to check if her mother was alarmed and was relieved to find she wasn't.

"How long are you two staying anyway? For tea?" Byul snorted softly. "Just go back to the Palace where you two belong to."

"Well actually," Chanyeol rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "We're thinking of staying over at your house until you come back to the Palace."

"STAYI-" Byul covered her own mouth and bit her palm to keep herself from screaming in surprise. She took three deep breaths and glared at them two. "Do. You. Know. What. You. Are. Talking. About?" she bit out every word. "This is my house! Why would two princes want to stay in my house? Especially when one of you is the Crown Prince huh?"

"Well yeah," Baekhyun shrugged. "But I've already brought the necessary things." he pointed at the carriage and Byul saw the mattresses pertruding out of the windows.

She gasped. "You're serious."

"Of course I'm serious. I'm always serious." Baekhyun grinned, flicking her ponytail. He produced a few taels and shoved it in Byul's hand. "Go buy us some commoner clothes ppali!"

Chanyeol nudged her towards the village and Byul ran off, scratching head. She ran to the clothes shop and frowned to herself. *Wait. They haven't even told me why they came!*

"Umma, I have two friends that have come to stay at our house." Byul called. "Can they?"

"Sure! If they don't mind the shabby house. Call them in Byul ah!" her mother called back, coughing a little after. Baekhyun and Chanyeol stepped into the house in their commoner wear, but still looking suave and a sight to behold.

They looked around the small area, a totally different type of environment from the Palace. But somehow even with the lack of elegant and expensive furniture but just simple usable ones, there was a homely feeling to the place that made anyone comfortable in it's premises at once.

Byul waved them in and the two princes followed her into one of the rooms. "Umma, these are my two friends. Chanyeol and Ddong...I mean, Baek...hyun." Byul stuttered, saying Baekhyun's name for the first time. She ignored the butterflies that appeared in her tummy.

"Handsome lads, Byul." Mrs Han smiled weakly from her bed. She was sewing a pink and red bridal dress. "Welcome to our humble home."

"It's a nice home, Ahjumma." Chanyeol smiled easily. "I hope you get well soon."

"Sorry we'll be intruding." Baekhyun told her. "But I brought mattresses! And tonics!" he waved his servants in to carry the stuff. Mrs Han blinked at the people and the soft looking mattresses that were an inch and a half thick. Good quality.

"Where did you young lads find money to get servants?" Mrs Han asked, confused.

Baekhyun stilled. "Err ah...they're our friends!" he slung an arm around a servant. The servant went pale and froze like a rock. For Goodness sake the Crown Prince was claiming to be his friend!

"Oh I see." Mrs Han smiled. "Thank you. But you don't need to spend on these things, you can stay here without any payment. Eunhyuk and other guards often do that."

Baekhyun frowned and shot Byul a look. "Oh. They do?"

"Yeah. But you two look more refined than any of them." she noted. She smiled at the doorway where a head was poking in. "Come in Jaeho. Meet your noona's friends."

Jaeho scrambled in, his large eyes accessing the two princes from head to toe. Chanyeol and Baekhyun shifted uncomfortably. This was even more stressful than being eyed from head to toe by the thousands of ministers. And this was just an eleven year old.

"Jaejae come here." Byul smiled and patted her lap. Jaeho scrambled to his sister and eyed the two princes. "Who are they, noona?" he asked, frowning.

"That tall one is called Chanyeol hyung." she pointed. "That annoying looking, mean and absolutely ridiculously demanding guy there is Baekhyun hyung."

Jaeho's eyes narrowed on Baekhyun. "Noona. I don't like him." he pointed.

Baekhyun's eyes widened. "Yah do you know who I am? I'm the Crown..hmmmffff-" Chanyeol slapped his hand on Baekhyun's mouth. He smiled awkwardly. "Ahhhh my hyung is just uh...not good with kids." he smiled awkwardly.

Jaeho looked at Chanyeol and smiled. "Chanyeol hyungnim, you're so tall. I wanna be like you when I grow up." he beamed.

Baekhyun frowned. What the...total 180 degree change in attitude man! "Humph what's so good about being tall? Stupid giraffes." Baekhyun muttered under his breath.

Chanyeol scooped Jaeho from Byul's lap and smiled. "Well I like you Jaeho. Let's be good friends hm?" he smiled. Jaeho beamed and nodded, shaking Chanyeol's hand.

Baekhyun muttered under his breath incoherently and Byul just chuckled. This was going to be a crazy stay.

"How do you even do this?" Baekhyun muttered, fiddling with the clothes line. "Wait..this is tangled!"

Byul rolled her eyes and took the end of the rope. She pulled it lightly and it unravelled easily. She raised her brows at him and Baekhyun reddened. "Aish...commoner stuff." he muttered, his cheeks slightly pink.

Byul and Chanyeol helped to set up the clothes line in additional to the original one and began squeezing the water out of the clothes to hang up to dry. Baekhyun squeezed between Byul and Chanyeol as they hung the clothes up. "Han Eunbyul, teach me how to use this." he pointed at the clips they used for hanging the clothes up.

"Stupid hyungnim doesn't even know how to use those?" Jaeho looked at them, siting on the bench with a simple alphabet book.

Baekhyun pouted and puffed his cheeks at Byul. "Yah your brother is-"

"Completely right." Byul finished for him with a grin. "Yeah stupid hyungnim doesn't know how to use these clips." She laughed as Baekhyun flicked her forehead. "Just pinch these two ends and it'll open see?" she showed it to him.

Baekhyun nodded. "Ahh...it's simple." he pinched one and it opened. "I would have known but I just haven't seen one of these before." he defended himself.

"Stupid hyungnim hasn't even seen a clip yet." Jaeho cocked his head to the side as if citing a commentary.

Baekhyun pouted and nudged Byul. "Your brother's the same as you." he whispered.

Byul smiled. "I know. Awesome."

The three of them hung up the clothes (with much trouble on Baekhyun's side) and got it all done. Baekhyun felt totally out of place as Chanyeol played along with Jaeho as if they were brothers for real and Byul laughed along.

They looked like a perfect family and somehow, that image made him really mad.

"Yah Han Eunbyul, I think I hurt my finger just now." he held out his tiny tiny cut on his finger at her, pouting like a kid. Byul rolled her eyes but she went over to him. She squinted at the tiny cut and rolled her eyes. "Man Ddong-ha that's such a small cut!"

"Ddong...ha?" Jaeho caught the name quickly and looked at them curiously.

"That's...uh...that's..." Byul her lips.

Baekhyun slung his arm around Byul and beamed. "That's your noona's endearment to me!" Byul rolled her eyes, pinking, and whacked his head. "Aish."

Chanyeol shifted uncomfortably. "But honestly Byul, you've got to be comfortable calling us normally." he told her. "I mean, we're here..." he shrugged.

"Yeah!" Baekhyun nodded. "Call us Chanyeol and Baekhyun oppa! Go on, one two three~" he sang.

"Chanyeol oppa." Byul muttered. She glanced at Baekhyun. "Ddong oppa."

Baekhyun's jaw dropped and Jaeho laughed loudly. "HAHAHA DDONG HYUNG!" Baekhyun shot Byul a look and she shrugged. "Aish this girl."
