They say eight is still to young to fall in love. But when I was eight, I fell in love with him. 

He and his brothers were running among the tall grasses on the mountains, playing among themsleves like they were the only ones who mattered. I was strolling alone, looking for my cat Cute-Cute. When I heard them playing, I was curious. I don't have any brothers or sisters, and Cute-Cute was my only playmate. Seeing them, I decided to spy. 

PArting the tall grasses with my hands, I took a look at them. And there I saw him. His chinky eyes smiled every time he smiles. He was the youngest, I reckoned, being small in stature and built. His brothers chased him around.

"Hyung, try to catch me!" He said.

"Aish, how could our maknae run this fast?" The second one asked his hyung.

"Nevermind. We'll get him this time, Yong Hwa-ya." The elder one said as he puffed. 

In his desire to manage his escape, the maknae ran straight right to me, bumping on me, sending both of us rolling below the small hill. When we landed, the instantly stood up.

"Yah! Are you spying on us?"

"Mi..mianhe... I didn't mean to see you at play," I said. 

Then his brothers arrived.

"Gwaenchanha?" The older one asked his maknae, then he took a look at me.

"Are you all right, miss?" he asked. I nodded. Then I asked. "Can I join you?"

The maknae cocked his head. "Mwoh? Why would we let a girl join our pack? No girls allowed!"

The second one patted me on the shoulder. "Please forgive our youngest for treating you like this. But yeah, no girls allowed."

"It's all right. I was looking for my cat when I happened to be interested in your activity." And I bowed as I walked my way. Incidentally,  Cute-Cute happened to pass by. I called my tomcat, and he came running staight to me. He jumped into my arms and curled himself on my embrace.

"I don't have any playmates. You wouldn't mind being my playmate, would you?"

The cat meowed as he looked at me with his big black eyes.
