* = I am fully aware that Korean women do not take their husband's last name when they marry. However, the characters will be doing so for the sake of the story, so please bear with me.

Plot – After spending fifteen years in exile (in Siberia), Kim Junsu finally returns to Korea, hoping to come home to his wife and child. However when he returns, he discovers that his dear wife is nowhere to be found and his beloved daughter, Minjung, is in the vile Judge Jung Yunho’s custody. Furious, he sets out on a plan to assassinate the judge with the help of his old friend and landlady, Zhang Liyin.

Setting – Seoul, Korea, 1938; I have no idea how they were like back then, but let’s pretend they’ve already been Westernized at that point. By that, I mean wearing jeans, shirts, dresses and all; it doesn’t have to be the cutesy stuff they wear today (I hate those!).

Note: For those of you who haven’t noticed it already, I based this fanfic on Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street. It’s going to have the same plotline, but with some different stuff too, of course. There are a lot of versions of the Sweeney Todd story itself (from plays to the two films [there’s one from 1936 and one from 2007] to I believe, even books) so I’m thinking I’ll just be playing with all those elements and come up with my own adaptation—SuYin style! Okay, well hopefully you enjoy reading this fanfic!

Also another thing to add—I will be addressing Kim Junsu as Seo Junho. Those who haven’t seen/heard of Sweeney Todd, you’ll see why. Those who already know, well good for you!
