Author's Note: Tadaima~~ very very very very LOOOOONG time since I've written YamaShi. I recently lost the urge to write.... *cries*
So busy in college... someone make me rich PLEASEEE!!! >/////<
Fic writing is the only thing that keeps me entertained these days... *sigh*
I've done this on the bus on the way to college so please excuse all my mistakes.

“Ohayou…” a bright smile of a familiar girl welcomed Yamada’s morning. Within this friendly gesture, he just can’t help but to smile back with his eyes still locked at the fair complexion of Mirai's face.

“Ohayou…”

“You’re taking Kuu and Cookie for a walk?” Shida asked then leaned down to reach the two petite dogs near Yamada.

“Hai~ They’re trying to annoy me while reading so I decided to give them time outside the house.” Yamada remarked, also leaned closer to pet his two dogs.

Shida and Yamada continued patting Kuu and Cookie, making them moan a little – somehow with pleasure. Shida giggled as Kuu started her hand gently which made her  happily carry the dog.

By this, Yamada just can’t help himself but to smile at this scene. He loved his dogs so much but the sight of his own girlfriend getting along with them is just too precious to ignore. Yamada then started to copy Shida’s gesture and carried Kuu, still rubbing his palm against the dog’s fur.

“Do you want to go with us?” he said while looking gladly at his girlfriend.

However, Shida didn’t answer and remained quiet. She seems so busy petting the dog she was holding and totally forgot she was with Ryosuke.

“Aheeemmm….” Yamada cleared his throat playfully trying to catch his girlfriend’s attention.

“Ahh… Gomen~ it seems like Kuu and Cookie are bigger now since the last time I saw them” she replied still not looking up to her boyfriend… “These dogs are so cute~ I want a pet…” Shida continued while playing with Cookie’s paw.

Still bothered by Mirai’s behaviour, Yamada went closer to her face trying to get a decent response… “So, you coming with us?”

“Ahhh… Can I? I want to play with them in the park…” Mirai smiled then pulled the dog’s lead gently to guide Cookie. She then guided the way without looking back at Yamada who was busy pouting with Kuu.

“Mou~ Cookie is so lucky…” he whispered then hurriedly ran to catch up Shida’s pace.

“Fetch!!!” Mirai shouted while throwing the two frees bees she was holding. The two dogs then ran across the field and fetched what Shida had thrown using their mouth. Kuu and Cookie then returned to Mirai’s position and gained gentle pats on their head.


Yamada can now sense that he is indeed ignored. He watched the scene with heavily laden back on the nearest bench of the park. He sighed heavily as he saw his girlfriend cheerfully playing with his dogs, clearly ignoring his existence.

“Yamada Ryosuke… Wake up!!!” he said to himself while patting both of his cheeks… “I can’t believe I’m getting jealous of Kuu and Cookie…” he sighed then thought of a plan on how to get Shida’s attention.

“Mirai-chan… why don’t you rest first?” he loudly said after seeing his girlfriend still a few meters away from him with a frees bee on her left hand.

Yet, Shida didn’t answer and continued playing with the two dogs. Even if she heard it or not, the fact that she’s enjoying the two dogs’ company too much is just enough to make Yamada pull an annoyed face.

Now he had it. Being continuously ignored is not his cup of tea.

By this, he hurriedly stood up his chair and walked towards Mirai’s direction. He then grabbed both Shida’s arm and turned her figure into his trend.

“SHIDA MIRAI!!” he said quite stiffly while looking at Mirai’s eyes… “I’m here you know! All you did today is ignore your precious boyfriend…”

At first, Shida pulled a confused face. However, in an instance, she gave off a giggle after seeing her boyfriend frowning cutely in front of her.

“I know you’re here…” she said with a hint of chuckle after her sentence. She then left a peck on Ryosuke’s cheek which is enough to make the boy's face burn up…

“I was thinking about getting a pet… and having to play with Kuu and Cookie today, I think I’m gonna get one…” Mirai grinned while trying to explain to her boyfriend.


Yet, Yamada remained quiet and pouted a bit more than usual. He then turned away as if Shida’s explanation is not enough.

“Awww… my ichigo prince is having the temper?” she laughed then pinched both Ryosuke’s cheeks, trying to at least cheer him up… “You know you’re much cuter than Kuu and Cookie, right?”

“Of course…” Ryosuke suddenly grinned…”They’re from the Yamada family. Everyone in our family is cute.”

“Hai hai~ I won’t object”

“Ahh… wait here. I'm gonna buy us something to drink…” Ryosuke said then grabbed his wallet inside his bag… “Look after Kuu and Cookie ne?”

“Un~~” Shida nodded and saw her boyfriend’s figure disappear through the empty park.

“You guys are so lucky to be with Yama-chan everyday…” Shida said and turned to the two dogs whilst patting them… “I can’t believe I’m being jealous to these two cute dogs!!!”

*ring *ring

 
Shida suddenly heard her phone ring inside her bag which had awoken her from her silly thoughts. By this, she sighed heavily and stood up to take the call; leaving the two dogs behind.
 
"moshi moshi?"

 
"Mirai-chan!!" a familiar voice almost shouted over the earpiece of her mobile.
 
"Umika? What's the matter?" Shida asked her friend in a monotone voice.

 
"Are you busy? I'm bored... Chii won't talk to me..." Umika answered quietly by her mention... "I think he's still angry that I fell asleep while he was talking about Ohno-kun over the phone..."

 
Shida just giggled after hearing her friend's complaints... "You guys are just so cute... I'm with Yama-chan now. I'll come by to your house later..."
 
"Okay~ thanks Mirai-chan... I'll wait for you..."

 
"jia~ bye bye" Mirai put down her phone and smiled innocently at Umika's behaviour.

 
She then turned around to see how the two dogs which Yamada had entrusted to her are coping.
 
To her surprise, only one of the dogs is found running around almost in circles.
 
Shida immediately felt her chest tighten. A big lump on blocked her voice box that made her unable to speak. Within a flash, she found herself trembling and hearing her own heart beat combating with the sound of Kuu continuously barking.
 
"C-C-Cookie..." she struggled to say with a worried tone.
 
"Kuu!! Where's Cookie?" she forced herself to say, not really thinking that she's talking to a dog.
 
Within seconds, Shida was already freaking out. She knows too well that Yamada loves his dogs so much that he won't even sleep if one of them is sick.
Shida was all wet by her own sweat and immediately carried Kuu as she is afraid to lose the other dog as well.

"We need to find Cookie..." she looked helplessly around the park hoping she'll find Cookie before Yamada comes back.

Her fast beating heart rate continues to worry her. What will Yamada say?

"He's definitely gonna hate me..." she said to herself while helplessly looking everywhere for Cookie. Kuu on the other hand just kept on barking that made an impression that he's also worried about his companion.

"Mirai-chan... What are you doing here? I thought you're playing in the field?" Yamada came out of nowhere and startled the living day light out of Shida.

She then realised how far they are from the field and nearly outside the park just looking for Cookie. Yet, seeing her boyfriend happily smiling with drinks on his left hand made Shida more nervous. She just can't imagine Yamada being mad at her.
 
"Yama-chan..." she said quite teary.
 
Yamada then pulled a concerned face; not even noticing that one of his dogs is missing.
 
"What's wrong? Are you hurt?"
 
"No~" Shida's voice just cracked up and immediately went into tears... "Cookie... M-missing" she uttered, almost every word broken.

 
Shida saw Yamada's eyes widen. Ryosuke decided to remain silent for a while but then, he looked down without turning back to Mirai.
 
"I-I'm s-sorry..."
 
"We need to find Cookie..." Yamada replied coldly which brought tension in the atmosphere. Mirai was about to explain what happened but Ryosuke seems not to care and just went on looking for his dog.

Mirai remained clueless on what to feel at this moment, but she didn't manage to speak up since she knew that Yamada is upset - mainly because he entrusted his two precious dogs to his girlfriend but ended up being a disaster.
As Shida thought of this, a painful urge just pulled her around to look for Cookie once again.

Almost an hour of searching had passed and there’s still no sign of the missing dog. By this time, Shida just can’t forgive herself for what happened. She saw Yamada’s figure powerlessly looking for Cookie while panting really hard because of all the running.

Mirai can’t exactly see her boyfriend’s facial expression but Yamada seems to give off a very dim aura within him. By this, she can tell… he’s very worried.

A few mere seconds had passed, Shida heard Kuu barking continuously across the road. She forced herself to look at where at Kuu is barking at and then she felt a sudden bright feeling rushing through her.

Within a flash, she saw Cookie sitting comfortably in the middle of the road as if waiting for something to happen.

A sudden curve on Mirai’s face was seen and let off a whole weight off her chest. She is indeed relieved.

“Yama-chan!!! I found Cookie!!!” she said excitedly and ran towards the figure of the dog in the middle of the street.

Yamada’s gaze immediately followed Mirai’s build approaching Cookie who was still comfortably laden on the ground. He, too, felt his chest loosen for a bit as he saw his own dog safe and sound.

However, after excitedly running to get Cookie, Shida suddenly saw a car approaching the dog.

“Cookie!!!” she shouted in panic. Despite her loud voice, the dog doesn’t seem to move from where he's sitting. Then, Mirai didn’t have a choice but to protect the poor dog and recklessly throw herself to save him.

“MIRAI!!!!” Yamada cried. He suddenly felt his knees weaken after seeing this scene. Hearing the screeching of the car's tires are just enough to kill him inside. He never thought Mirai would risk her life just to save his own dog.


Fast heart beat and sweat covered Yamada as he ran as fast as he can to see how Mirai was.

“Are you trying to kill yourself?” the angry driver yelled at Mirai who was still hugging the dog in her arms.

Still in shock, she can’t seem to answer but held Cookie tighter and tighter. She then felt her boyfriend pulling her away from the road into the pavement to avoid any more accidents from happening.
Shida even heard Yamada apologise to the driver on her behalf for nearly causing an accident.


“I-I’m sorry…” she said, trembling… “I-I just w-wanted to save Cookie…”

Yamada on the other hand just stayed quiet. He looked down and didn’t face Mirai who was still trembling from what happened.

Then, he saw Shida’s arms and knees full of wounds and scratches all over them.

By this, he immediately pulled Mirai’s arm and pinned her to the nearest tree trunk.
“Y-Yama-chan?” she whispered.

“How- how much do you want me to worry until you’re satisfied?” he said quietly then rested his forehead on Shida’s shoulder… “Please don’t do that again… I can’t take it.”

Yamada’s words pierced a hole on Shida’s chest. She never thought he’ll be that worried. The fact that she’s the one who lost Cookie in the first place is a good enough reason for him to hate her.

“Aren’t you angry at me?” she replied without even thinking.

“I am!!! Why do you have to do that?! I’m scared to lose you. Promise me you won't do that again!!” he demanded with a quite loud tone of voice; still having Shida on his capture.


“S- Sorry… I’m okay now. You don’t have to worry anymore” she gently held up her boyfriend’s face from her shoulder to clearly see his expression. To her surprise, Yamada was nearly in tears.

Shida just can’t help herself but to place her lips onto his. Ryosuke just kissed her back and pulled her closer to his embrace.

Mirai didn’t even care if anyone sees this scene. No one even the paparazzi can hinder the great feelings she wanted to show to Yamada at that moment.

“I think Cookie have wounds from earlier…” Shida said worriedly  then leaned down to take a closer look to the dog next to her which is busy playing with Kuu's small tail.

However, Yamada pulled her up again and pouted… “You care about Cookie’s injuries but you didn’t even notice you have wounds too… Mirai-chan is so stubborn”

By this, Mirai just smiled and kissed Yamada’s cheeks in a quick pace…

“Thanks for worrying about me…” she hugged him and whispered to his ear… “I’m jealous of Kuu and Cookie for having a ‘Papa’ like you… I hope my own children will have the same.” She paused and took a deep breath before continuing “I hope it will be you…”

By this remark, Yamada just felt his face burn and decided to remain silent that gave him the urge to hug his girlfriend back…

“Of course…" he chuckled and thought to himself... "I’ll never let anyone bear your children... except for me…”
