While Jessica's sleeping soundly in the quiet room except for the beeping sounds of the medical devices,
Yuri sat by Jessica's bedside&held onto her fragile hands while tears run down her cheeks.
Just then, Yuri's phone rang.

*PHONE CALL*

"Yoboseyo"

"Yuri, its me"
"Omma-ah"

"Oh.."
"Omma.."

"Whats wrong Yuri?"
"Whats wrong with your voice?"
"Are you crying?" asked Mrs Kwon worriedly over the phone

"Ommaa.." sobbed Yuri
"Ommaa, i miss you.."

"Yuri-ah, where are you now?"
"Omma will come&look for you!"
"Dont cry dont cry!" said Mrs Kwon

"Omma.."
"Im so tired.."
"Tired of everything.."

"Yuri..?"

"..."
"..."
"..."

"Yuri?!"

"..."
"..."

"Oh no!"

Actually, Yuri had fallen asleep by the bedside of Jessica.
Yuri was really exhausted after taking care of Jessica,
stressed up because of Jessica's domestic matters&health.

Mrs Kwon's POV

What happened to my Yuri..?
Omona..
Im so worried for Yuri..
Should i travel to Jessica's house since Yuri's living with her..?

While for Mr Jung, he was pacing outside Jessica's room,
wondering if he should go in&check on Jessica.
Half of him told him to go in&take a look at her while the other half told him no as it is weird having to care for Jessica after so many years.
However, whats so weird caring for one's own daughter?
Look at Yuri for example, after 22 years, her mum came back for her still.

Mr Jung's POV

Should i go in&check up on Sooyeon..?
Maybe i shouldnt..
Think she would guess im doing it out of fakeness..
But..
How serious is her condition..?

"Butler Lee" called Mr Jung

"Yes Mr Jung?"

"How serious is Sooyeon's condition actually..?"
"When did it actually start..?"

"Well.. Its a long story.." started butler lee
"It started when Ms Jessica was 7"
"I dont know if you noticed or remembered, Ms Jessica at the age of 7 missed weekss of schools because she's sick"
"Her fever were going on&off, high&low with nosebleeds"
"It was then the doctor realised something was wrong, they started doing tests on her"
"The doctors initially thought Ms Jessica had leukemia.."
"But it turned out she had rheumatic fever"
"Right after she recovered from rheumatic fever, the doctors told me that Ms Jessica's heart valve had been badly damaged by the bacteria that was associated with rheumatic fever"
"It was recommended that Ms Jessica go through the surgery immediately to have a high rate of success.."
"Ms Jessica was only 7 then, i've tried contacting you but you always said you had no time"
"Around when Ms Jessica was at the age of 10, her heart went really weak&were sent into the hospital for a emergency heart surgery"
"Then, i tried telling you but you just brushed it off saying its nothing, just a minor heart surgery&urged me not to disturb you"
"At around the age of 16, you were stressing Ms Jessica on getting this&that for her studies, urging her, forcing her to take over your business 2 years later"
"Due to all the stress&work, Ms Jessica didnt have enough rest&didnt go for her regular treatment, everything turned a lot worse"
"Which then marks her second major heart surgery.."
"I wanted to inform you, Mr Jung"
"But Ms Jessica said not to bother you, she didnt want you to get mad at her for being such a troublemaker"
"Ms Jessica really love you a lot" said butler lee sadly
"So now, although i dont know what happened to Ms Jessica today which made her have such a big relaspe"
"She's been doing well after Ms Yuri came back to supervise her.." added butler lee

"Yuri?"

"Yup, Ms Yuri came back for Ms Jessica"
"From what i've heard from Ms Jessica, Ms Yuri once promised to be Ms Jessica's personal doctor when they were a lot younger"
"So after Ms Yuri came back, Ms Jessica had been going for regular treatments"
"There was once, she missed it but got scolded by Yuri really badly.."

"Why did she miss it if she knows its not gonna do her any good?"

"Because.."

"Because?"

"Because Mr Jung called her.."
"And you demanded Ms Jessica to.. attend the event for you.." replied butler lee timidly

Mr Jung's POV

"Thats why she was sick.."
"That day when you came&demanded her to bring the daughters of Kim&Hwang holdings for a tour.."
"Ms Jessica was sick last night&Ms Yuri gave her the treatment.."
"In the middle of that night, Ms Jessica developed  a fever which didnt even subside when you came but increased a lot.."
"But you insisted Ms Jessica to go..and.."

"And..?"

"And even said she was pretending to be sick to gain your sympathy.."
"Mr Jung, i really wanted  to tell you this"
"It doesnt matter if you're gonna fire me after me saying it"
"I think you shouldnt treat Ms Jessica like this.."
"She's been giving into you, compromising your demands even if its gonna harm her health.."
"All she wanted was to hear simple compliments from you but instead, she received harsh scoldings from you which made her came back crying&sobbing hard in her room"
"Ms Jessica's really a girl with the golden heart, she puts everyone before her.."
"She donated her bone marrow to Yuri's mum to save her despite the fact she might get the risk of being infected.."
"The two months she skipped work was because she was really weak, totally bedridden due to the treatments Ms Yuri had been giving her to prevent the infection from happening since it was really very high" explained butler lee sadly
"I've seen Ms Jessica grown, i really wished that Mr Jung, you could shower her with this little bit of love"
"I see Ms Jessica as my little daughter, when you were not by her side, i was always by her side taking care of her when she actually"
"Deep inside her heart, wished that i were you" added butler lee

I didnt know about all these..
I think i dont even deserve to be call appa by Sooyeon..
I made her went through so much pain..

In Jessica's room

"Yuri.."
"Yul.." called Jessica as she lightly nudge Yuri with her elbow

"Hmm..?"
"Sica, how're you feeling now?" asked Yuri as she rubbed her eyes

"Better.." smiled Jessica weakly
"Dont worry about me.."

"Dont worry?!"
"How can i not worry!" exclaimed Yuri in disbelief

"Calm.. down.."
"Its pretty late.. now Yul.."
"Go back.. to your.. room&rest.."
"You must.. be exhausted.."

"Hmm..?"
"Let me check your temperature first.."
"I dont like the fever here" said Yuri as she took out a thermometer&inserted it into Jessica's ears.

*BEEP BEEP*

"How is it..?"

"Not good, Sica.."
"Its still at 38.7 degrees.." sighed Yuri
"You have to relax Sica.."
"Stop thinking about other things.."
"Your fever wont go down in this way.." said Yuri as she walked away

"Where.. you going..?"

"Going to get something.." said Yuri but came back moments later with two different machines.
"Wow Sica, i was just trying my luck"
"I didnt know your room has this too" said Yuri pointing to the smaller machine

"What.. are you.. trying.. to do..?"

"To check things up.."
"Before i make any decision"
"Now lie down&dont move" instructed Yuri sternly as she pulled the two machines to the bedside of Jessica

While Yuri was preparing everything by washing her hands, wearing gloves, getting the machines started,
Jessica had an uneasy look on her.

"Yuri..?"
"Can..we not.. do this..?"
"You look.. scary.." pleaded Jessica on the verge of tears

However, no one knew that the door of Jessica's room was slightly opened.
And standing there was Mrs Kwon&Mr Jung.

"No, im not going to let you go Sica"
"Stay still" instructed Yuri as she ed Jessica's top&placed the transducer of the echocardiogram with the cool feeling gel onto Jessica's chest&moved it around.

"Sigh.."
"Sica-ah.." started Yuri as she put down the transducer&removed Jessica's oxygen mask&replaced it with nasal cannula.

"Yup..?"
"Its not looking very good.."
"I wanna arrange you for a surgery.."
"But before that, i need to get a better view of it" said Yuri as she stood up&injected sedative into Jessiac's infus

"Better view..?"
"What do you.. mean..?" asked Jessica weakly but gasped at the sight of the long tube with a blue little transducer at the end of it.
"Yuri.." started Jessica with tears going down her face
"I dont like it.."
"Please.. please dont.. do that on me.." pleaded Jessica
"Please.. Yul.."

"Sica, its not going to hurt"
"I've given you the sedative&im going to spray the anesthetic to numb it"
"Dont worry about it, now lie on your left so i could do it"

"No Yul.."
"Its.. uncomfortable.."
"Horribly uncom..fortable.." sobbed Jessica
"The doctors always does this on me when im gonna go for surgery.."
"Not you.. too Yul.."
"Please..?"

"Sorry Sica" said Yuri as she turned Sica towards the left side&called for people to help her hold on to Jessica
"Butler lee!"
"Is there anyone out there?!"
"Can you please come on inside?!" shouted Yuri while holding onto Jessica who was trying her best to break free from Yuri's hold.

Surprisingly, before butler lee came in, Mr Jung&Mrs Kwon came in instead.

"Omma..?"
"Why are you here..?" asked Yuri puzzled

"Oh, i was on the phone with you remember?"
"And you just went dead so i was worried&came here"

"Appa..?" called Jessica weakly

Jessica was shocked&surprised to see Mr Jung in her room for the first time.
Entering Jessica's room, Mr Jung was shocked to see how much medical stuff Jessica's room had been filled with.
While Jessica was stunned, Yuri quickly took the opportunity to insert the tube into Jessica's esophagus which made Jessica teared up.

"Shh.."
"Sica.. Its fine.." coaxed Yuri as her eyes focused on the images produced by the transducer
"Its alright, it will be over soon"
"Just awhile.."

"Yes dear"
"You're gonna be okay soon"
"Yuri wont make it hurt" hushed Mrs Kwon whose heart broke after seeing Jessica's condition as she wiped off the tears of Jessica

Mr Jung then slowly walked over to Jessica, but it made Jessica froze in fear.
Her tears literally stopped flowing immediately&was all caught in her eyes.
The tears actually blurred her vision as she trembled in fear.

"Whats wrong Sica..?" asked Yuri worriedly as she notice Jessica was trembling
"Are you cold..?"

"Yeah dear, are you cold?" asked Mrs Kwon as she placed her palm on Jessica's forehead
"Oh gosh, Yuri she's running a really high fever"
"What are we gonna do?"

"Wait omma"
"Let me finish this first" replied Yuri while she continue fiddling with the transducer
"Omma, can you please take Sica's temperature for me first?"

"Sure, anything for you" said Mrs Kwon as she took Jessica's temperature
"Its 39.4 degrees Yuri.."
"Isnt it a little high..?"

"It must be that Donghae who did this to Sica.." grumbled Yuri
"Im going to get back at him"

But no one knew that Jessica's eyes were actually fixed at Mr Jung who was looking at her.
Jessica was trembling because of Mr Jung's presence, she was afraid that Mr Jung was going to scold her again.
To scream at her for being so sickly, to scream at her for being such a weakling.
However, right after Yuri removed the tube from Jessica's throat, Yuri noticed that something's wrong.
She noticed that Jessica's attention was not anywhere but on Mr Jung.
Fear was filled in Jessica's tear-filled eyes. Seeing that, Yuri walked towards Mr Jung.

"Can you please leave this room?"
"Cant you see you're scaring Sica out?"
"Cant you see she's trembling in fear because of you?!"
"Cant you see how much fear you've inflicted on her for the past years?!" scolded Yuri angrily

"Yuri, dont be so rude" called Mrs Kwon

"Omma, you dont know what he've done to Sica"
"He's partly at fault for Sica's condition too together with that dumb Donghae!" exploded Yuri

"Yu..ri.."
"Dont.."
"Dont..scold..appa.."
"He's.. not at.. fault.."
"Dont..blame..him.."

"Sica! I dont know how dumb you could get!"
"I really dont understand it at all!"
"Im going out!" exasperated Yuri frustrated

Following behind, was Mrs Kwon.
Leaving behind, was Jessica&Mr Jung.
As soon as the both of them left the room,
Jessica quickly sat up&staggered out of bed but failed badly.

"Ap..pa.."
"Cheongmal.. chosong..hamida.."
"Im sor..ry.. for causing.. omma's..death.." said Jessica in between gasps as she struggled to stand up

Surprisingly, Mr Jung actually went over to help her out.
Mr Jung actually went over to help Jessica up back to the bed.

"Aniyo.."
"Ap..pa.. you dont..need..to.."
"I.. can man..age.. on.. my own.."
"Im sor..ry.. for.. being so.. sickly..weak..."

"Just stop talking&lie back"

Guilt was hitting Mr Jung inside out, he didnt know he brought so much pain to Jessica.
Especially to the point that Jessica's actually afraid of him.

"Ap..pa.."
"Can you.. dont be.. mad at.. Yuri..?"
"Just.. be mad.. at me..?"
"Yuri.. didnt mean.. to shout.. at you.."
"She.. was just.. worr..ied.. about me..: pleaded Jessica

"I said stop talking, didnt you hear me?" snapped Mr Jung

Mr Jung didnt know what to say to Jessica, his heart were filled with guilt,
seeing Jessica in that state was already killing him inside out.

Yuri's side

"Yuri, you know, you should have shouted at Mr Jung.." started Mrs Kwon
"He's really concerned about Jessica, unlike what you've said"
"I saw it when i was standing by the door with him"

"Omma!"
"How can you side a bastard like him!"
"It was him that caused Jessica to be in this state!"
"It was all his doings!"
"He even once told me he wouldnt even bother if his daughter is dead!"

"Probably he thought you werent serious about it when you said it..?"
"I saw his tears falling off when you were doing that tube insertion thingy into Jessica"
"It felt as if his heart is hurting so badly when he saw Jessica's painful tears"
"From what i see" added Mrs Kwon

"Omma, his tears are probably crocodile tears!" exclaimed Yuri

"Dont Yuri"
"Dont doubt other people's feelings"
"Let Jessica decide whether if its true feelings"
"You'll just have to stay by her side&cheer her on"
"She's really in so much pain from what i saw just now"

"I know.."

Jessica's side

There was an awkward moment of silence between Jessica&Mr Jung but was totally broken by Jessica's sudden urge of nauseous feeling.
A sudden urge of nauseous feeling hit Jessica&before she could throw up, she quickly fumbled onto the other side of the bed&before emptying all of her stomach contents into the bin.
Mr Jung, who saw all these rushes towards Jessica's side&patted her back slowly as Jessica emptied her stomach contents.

"App..aa..?" croaked Jessica

"You want me to call Yuri in?"

"Aniyo.."
"Im used to.. it alr..ready.." said Jessica weakly as she staggered back into bed
"App..aa.."
"You can go.. back&rest.."
"Its.. okay.. i dont..want to.. bother..you.."

"Listen"
"You're not bothering me"
"Im sorry for treating you like rubbish in the past"
"I was just mourning over your mum's death"

"JUST MOURNING?!" shouted Yuri as she stormed into the room
"WHAT KIND OF MOURNING IS THIS WHEN YOU MOURNED FOR 17 WHOLE DAMN YEARS?!"
"DID YOU EVEN KNOW HOW JESSICA GOT THROUGH THE PAST 17 YEARS?!"

"Yuri, what did i say?"
"Let them solve things themselves" said Mrs Kwon

Just then, butler lee came in.

"Mr Jung"
"Mr Donghae is outside in the living room"
"He wants to see you" said butler lee respectfully

"Donghae?"
"Ask him in"

"Donghae?!"
"That bastard who caused Jessica to catch a fever?!" exclaimed Yuri

Everything now seems to be building Yuri's fury up&up.
Donghae's here, Mr Jung's words, EVERYTHING.

Just then, Donghae entered the room but was shocked to see the weird atmosphere&Jessica.

"Oh?"
"I think i shouldnt be here" muttered Donghae softly

"You shouldnt be here?!" exploded Yuri as she pushed Donghae onto the wall
"You shouldnt exist in this world, bastard!"

"What is wrong with you, ?"
"Scolding me bastard the first time you see me" said Donghae as he roughly pushed Yuri away
"Mr Jung, im here to talk to you" added Donghae as he brushed the dust of his shirt

"What is it regarding?"
"Cant you wait till Sooyeon's well first?" snapped Mr Jung
"I've yet to settle things with you"

"Settle?" asked Donghae confused

"I've went to check on your family"
"Dont lie about this, you wanted to cheat the money out of me through Sooyeon"
"I know about all these already"

"Mr Jung.."
"I can explain.." started Donghae but was cut off again

"I dont need to hear any explanation from you"
"Just leave"

"NO!"
"I WONT LET YOU DO THIS TO ME!"
"BOTH FATHER&DAUGHTER IS THE SAME!"
"I WONT LET THINGS HAPPEN TWO TIMES IN A DAY!" shouted Donghae as he raised his fist at Mr Jung

"DONT!" shouted Jessica as she dash forward to protect her dad from getting hit.

"SICA!" exclaimed Yuri in shock.

In actual fact, inside Donghae's fist held a small dagger&he had it stabbed right into Jessica's back.

"Sooyeon!" cried Mr Jung as he held onto Jessica

Donghae, who was shocked at what actually happened, stood there stunned.
Yuri, who reacted immediately went to take bandages to make a ring around the dagger to stop it from moving as they get into the hospital. Butler Lee on the other had the car gotten ready.

"Get on her on my back!"
"NOW!" instructed Yuri as she ran off down to the car while Mr Jung&Mrs Kwon followed behind.

In the car

"Drive faster!!"
"PALI PALI!" urged Yuri worriedly as blood were bleeding profusely out of Jessica's wound

"Im already trying my best Ms Yuri" replied the chaffeur who was panicking

"Sica-ah~" called Yuri as she brushed off Jessica's fringe
"Dont leave me.."
"Dont leave me.."
"You promise you would live for me"
"You said you love me!" cried Yuri as tears dropped onto Jessica's pale face

"Yu..ri.. ah.."
"Im really.. very happy.."
"You know.. dont cry.. over me.."
"Im.. so happy.. appa..showed.. that little.. bit of.. concern.. i was yearning.. for.."
"For.. 22years.."
"Omma.."
"I missed you.." called Jessica weakly as her hands reached out to the air

"NO!"
"SICA!!"
"STAY AWAKE!!"
"DONT DONT DONT!!"
"DONT DO THIS TO ME!!!!"
"SICA!!" shouted Yuri as she shook Jessica violently, trying to make her stay awake

"Bia..neh.."
"Yul.. im tired.."
"I wanna.. sleep.. alr..ready"
