Changing Hearts
Description
In Korean, her name is Lee Chaeri. But in her hometown in Bedford, Massachusetts, everyone just calls her Cherri. Strong willed and spirited at eighteen years old, Chaeri is living her life up to the fullest.
But one rainy night, a distressed phone call from across the Atlantic Ocean changes her life forever.
As she travels to Seoul, Korea, the birth country she has never visited, she is mistakenly ushered onstage as a performer one night while lounging at a bar. As she stands on the stage, she realizes with surprise that she enjoys the feel of power and adrenaline that comes with being in the spotlight.
To her joy and nervousness, she gets offered an audition from JYP Entertainment, and against all odds passes the audition and gets accepted as an official JYP trainee.
As if in a dream, Chaeri finds herself into the life of stardom and celebrities, while trying to work her way to a debut in the entertainment world.
Along the way, she finds love in a boy named Nichkhun, a member of 2PM, one of the most popular boy bands in Korea. As she spends time as a trainee, she finds that there is a deeper, more complicated person beneath the cute, sweet façade that people see on TV.
Through, laughter, tears, heartbreak and undeniable love, Chaeri fights her way to the top of the Korean entertainment industry and realizes that the future is never set in stone, and that you can never run away from destiny.

Foreword
She couldn’t do it. Her breath caught in , a panicked expression in her eyes as she gazed nervously out at the audience in front of her; their expectant and attentive gazes never wavering, never changing.
Chaeri felt her hand move mechanically to the microphone, a detached movement that she was hardly even aware of.
She quickly scanned the vast auditorium for his face, desperately searching for that ruffled brown hair, those soft, encouraging eyes. She found him leaning against the door near the side of the stage, with a calm and composed demeanour. It helped ease her stage fright a little.
She took a deep breath, and looked at the audience with renewed determination.
I can do this. She thought with conviction. She was going to make herself do this.
Good luck, Nichkhun mouthed silently, with a slight smile on his face.
Chaeri closed her eyes, and then she began to sing.
