This is a literate, story-based roleplay. Our goal is to create a vast, flourishing world together. To this end, you will be required to meet the weekly activity requirements.

All members must post three thread replies per week and one group social media post. Thread replies must be between 5-10 sentences, though they can be longer if you wish.

You may post comments on threads that are shorter, but these replies will not count toward your activity requirements.

                       RULE TWO
                       (face claims)
⠀
Desired face claims must be active in the Korean Entertainment Industry—exceptions may be made for the Japanese and Chinese industries, depending on who is requested.

If you are unsure, please message the AFF or Tumblr to enquire. Idols with ongoing scandals, a history of abusive behavior, the deceased, or those who have requested not to be roleplayed are not allowed. Idols who are currently dating, engaged or married are allowed.

You will play a character in Tidal, not the actual IRL person. Face claims are, therefore, viewed as actors. When creating your character, you must create a unique identity for them, completely separate from the face claim you have chosen to “play” them. Your character must have an ethnically acceptable name different from their face claim.

For example: if they are of Korean descent, they must have a Korean name, not an English name. If you are making a backstory for your character where they were born somewhere besides Korea, please be careful and ensure you adhere to rule three. ⠀
Further examples are; if you choose to play Jeon Jungkook, your character’s name can not be “Jungkook” or anything too similar to it.

                      RULE THREE

Race-bending, changing the real-life gender identity or of your face claim is prohibited. No exceptions will be made regarding this out of respect to the face claims.

                        RULE FOUR

This roleplay may deal with heavy topics and themes that are unsuitable for minors. Face claims, writers and their characters must all be . If you are discovered to not be of age, you will be removed and blacklisted.

                        RULE FIVE
                          (respect)
⠀
Bullying, harassment, god-modding, or other abusive behavior will earn you a one-time only warning. If you exhibit this conduct a second time, you will be removed and blacklisted. There is no place for this in Tidal.

Furthermore, we do not permit negative conversations about other roleplays or roleplayers to be had amongst members. Please come into this roleplay with a fresh mindset and focus on having fun.

⠀
                          RULE SIX
                          (departing)
⠀
If you do not have time to roleplay, or desire to leave for any reason, please alert the admin. If you are removed from the roleplay twice due to inactivity, you will unfortunately not be permitted to return a third time.

Once you have alerted the admin that you are leaving, please wait to be announced before removing friends or your account from groups. This is to make it easier on the admins to keep track of members.

                     RULE SEVEN
                          (hiatus)

Tidal offers either a “half” hiatus or a “full” hiatus for those struggling with activity during busy periods.
⠀
A half-hiatus can last one to four weeks. Instead of three replies, you will only be expected to make one thread reply and one social media post.
⠀
A full-hiatus can last for one to two weeks and allows a member to take a break from the roleplay with no activity requirements—you may post sns updates if you want, but it is not required.
⠀
Depending on the writer’s situation, either type of hiatus may be granted an extension. However, if you are not going to be available to roleplay for an extended time, you may be asked to leave the roleplay and return when you can roleplay once more. Abusing hiatuses is not allowed—if you have taken too many in a short span of time, you will have your request denied.

                         RULE EIGHT
                        (character limit)
⠀
All members are allowed to have two characters. Those with a proven record of exceptional activity may be authorized to have more after they’ve been in the roleplay for at least three months.

A second character may be requested once you have been in the roleplay for a month, and only if you have met all activity requirements during that time. Your character’s face claims cannot be from the same group, but they may be the same type of supernatural species.

As an example; you may not have San and Mingi from Ateez for both of your characters, but you can have two mermaid characters.
⠀
If, after gaining additional accounts, your activity is consistently below what is required, you will be required to give one or more up. Which one you let go of is up to you. If you sneak in extra characters without admin permission, you will be removed from the roleplay.

                         RULE NINE
                           (triggers)

Trigger warnings are required on all the threads you post, no matter how minor the content may be. Failure to post trigger warnings will have your post removed. You may repost the thread once you have added the necessary warnings.

All roleplays must be kept to private messages, as they are not allowed in the threads group. Dark themes/topics of roleplay are allowed, so long as they have proper warnings.

                         RULE TEN
             (relationships, pregnancy)

Dating, marriage, and pregnancy are all allowed; mpreg and lpreg is not allowed, though adoption/artificial insemination is.

Children will be one species, or the other, at birth (i.e a human/mermaid will either be a mermaid or a human. A mermaid/phoenix will be a mermaid or phoenix. this is purely for the sake of coherency within our world-lore).

Children born in Tidal are considered NPC characters; they cannot be played by anyone and cannot have accounts. There is a two-week dating ban after entry and a two-month marriage ban.

Move-in couples are allowed, so long as it is announced in your application.

                        RULE ELEVEN
                     (character changes)

Character changes are allowed after you have spent two weeks in the roleplay, and only with admin approval. You must wait an additional two weeks between each official change you make to your character’s face claim or species.

If you change your character too frequently, your request to change may be declined.
