Foreword

MMM HP AU!!

I held off from making something like this for a LONG TIME because it didn’t feel right to me to whitewash how inherently South Korean MMM are all for the sake of an AU that forces them to be in an all-british setting.

thanks to the support my wonderfully patient beta, EmeraldDJ, i was able to get over this by simply setting the story in a fictional magical school in Korea! It’s still the general wizarding world JK created, just not set in hogwarts.

THAT BEING SAID, not everything came from my brain and i did take inspiration and co-opted some elements from pre-existing stuff and fan-made material! SO:

Inspiration for the wizarding school came from here!
House names and colors came from the MMM Compañero kit materials
And all Korean magical creatures mentioned I just got from this blog!

Of course I added my own flair and headcanons to certain parts but more or less, what you’re about to read is my own personal blend of all the above materials + elements of the existing HP Universe that I felt I could use.

There exists a full version of this fic that is ACTUALLY set in Hogwarts that only EmeraldDJ has read. All the events and the plot is 100% the same, just the setting is different. if you’re my moot on twitter, you can DM me for it ;)

Chapter 1: It's now 3 am and I just finished reading. I'm glad this is the story I read before going to sleep. The wizarding world has always been fascinating to me and it's amazing that the girls can be a part of it too. Your version is incredible, it makes me wish there's more. 🥰

Chapter 1: Why did this make me cry??? Author, this needs to be turned into a 7 book series, 1k pages each. Plus more for their life together after Sumasandeul. I loved all the small details in this one, and laughed every time Byul contradicted Yong over potions (we know who's right...). Byul as a seeker is right on the money too! The only thing I don't like is that it's too sad to imagine the gang breaking up for Byul's seventh year, a part of me wished Yong would stay as a teaching assistant or something but that would have been too much. Maybe that could be the right place for a bit of angst in this universe, it would be hard for two teenagers to survive a year apart. Anyway - as always, thank you for writing!
