Dangerous Percussions

Dirty Little Secret

EunWoo took a deep breath and entered the kitchen. She looked left and right, mumbling to herself. Why was she doing this again? This is going to turn out horribly…

But she was determined to do this!

She took a timid step instead and checked out what they had in the pantries, fridge and freezer.

“Ah! They have all the ingredients for making pancakes! That shouldn’t be too hard!” she cheerfully exclaimed to herself, taking out all the ingredients to start her creation. Blinking, she scratched her head and wondered what the first step to making pancakes was again…it had been awhile since she last made them…

“Oh boy…”

She was starting to regret this decision to try to make food for her “kidnappers.”

“No, you can do it, Go EunWoo! Hwaiting!” she rooted out loud for herself.

~

DaeHyun woke up before DaeHee again. He looked down at her guiltily. Though there really wasn’t much that he could have done about it, he still felt responsible for not being there for her when there was a thunderstorm. He knew better than anyone how horrible she reacts to them. YoungJae told him about how HoWon was able to calm her down after awhile and that she had been asleep since then, but he still wasn’t comfortable with HoWon’s presence. There was something odd about him.

As he was lost in his own thoughts, DaeHee finally woke up after sleeping a whole day away to DaeHyun’s movements on the bed.

“Hey, how you feeling?” he gently asked her, smoothing out her bed hair as she sat up. She groggily mumbled that she was fine before leaning against his shoulder for support, still a bit light-headed from waking up after her long slumber. He looked down remorsefully.

“Don’t look so guilty, DaeHyun. You couldn’t have known there was a thunderstorm,” DaeHee murmured through her sleepiness, feeling DaeHyun’s stare without having to look up.

“…you pulled me back…you usually do that because you feel something is off…” he sighed, feeling stupid for not noticing her strange behavior earlier.

“It’s fine, DaeHyunnie,” she smiled, poking his side. “You can make it up to me by feeding me…I didn’t eat anything yesterday…”

He chuckled, nodding, “Deal. Let’s see what we have downstairs, okay?”

~

DaeHee sniffed the air before turning to DaeHyun.

“Is…something burning?” she questioned, worry etched on her face. They exchanged a glance before quickening their steps to the kitchen. Their eyes widened as smoke began to fog up the kitchen. Quicker to react, DaeHee bolted forward and turned off the burner.

“What…the heck…is this?” DaeHee questioned with a of her head.

“I was…trying…to…make pancakes?” EunWoo mumbled in embarrassment, staring down at the floor. DaeHee shot her one look before raising an eyebrow at the…pancakes.

“These look a bit…crispy to be pancakes…you sure you weren’t trying to make cancer?” DaeHee ridiculed while laughing.

DaeHyun sighed, “Aish…what a mess…”

He looked down and noticed EunWoo holding wrist with her hand.

“Did you burn yourself?” he asked, surprising her.

“Ah…no…I didn’t…” she denied, shaking her head yet did not remove her hand. He rolled his eyes, grabbing her forearm, pulling her arm out of her hand to check for himself.

“Hmm…didn’t burn yourself, huh?” DaeHyun teased with a smirk, revealing an angry red mark on her wrist, causing her to pout.

“Excellent, not only does she at making pancakes, she’s a klutz,” grumbled DaeHee. “Go clean her up, DaeHyunnie. I’ll take care of what’s left of the pancakes.”

“Yah…I thought you told me to make you food,” DaeHyun disagreed, earning a scoffing chuckle from DaeHee.

“Because that went fantastic the last time you tried to make pancakes.” She waved the two of them off. “Go, shoo, before you spontaneously combust my pancakes by looking at them.”

“Ah, but I wanted to-” EunWoo started only to be interrupted by DaeHyun dragging her off to the bathroom to wash up the wound. DaeHee shook her head as she tried to salvage the mess EunWoo made in the kitchen. With a sigh, she cleaned out the pan and poured some batter in.

“Cute, are you cooking me breakfast? Would have never taken you for a domestic kind~” whispered a low voice, all too close to her ear, when she was almost done with one.

She flinched at the feeling of his arms around her waist, looking over her shoulder with his chin on her shoulder. Unwillingly, a blush formed on her face, his close proximity reminding her of what happened the day before. However, her mind said otherwise, shrugging him off of her with a scoff.

“Don’t touch me,” she muttered, going back to making the pancakes.

He chuckled at her cold reaction, “I see you’re feeling better~”

When she stiffened noticeably, he felt guilty for bring it up.

“…sorry…I was just joking around,” he whispered, nearly inaudibly.

He jumped in surprise when she shoved the pancake that just came off the pan into his mouth.

“Hot! Hot! Ah! You burned my tongue!”

She laughed, turning back to making the rest without saying anything else. Despite the laughter, HoWon couldn’t help but notice the faint bitterness in her voice.

He slowly walked back forward and wrapped his arms around her waist again.

“I’m sorry.”

~

“Ouch!”

“Hold still!”

EunWoo pouted, trying her best to, but it wasn’t exactly easy when DaeHyun was applying the ointment, putting pressure on the burn. She stared at DaeHyun, feeling smaller and smaller in his presence for causing him so much trouble yet EunWoo couldn’t help but fall harder and harder for him. Biting her lip, she contemplated her thoughts for just moment before asking the question that had been on her mind for some time now.

“DaeHyun-sshi…when…you told me that there was already someone you loved more than anything else…were you…referring to DaeHee-sshi?” she bravely asked, watching him intently for a reaction. Instead, he just grabbed the bandage and wrapped it gently around her wrist not answering her question. When he finished, he stood up to leave without a word.

But EunWoo had to know.

Maybe he felt something for her.

All those things he did for her.

She hoped they weren’t out of pity and maybe because he really did care for her too.

She grabbed his wrist and pulled him back, shooting him a pleading stare at the back of his head as he refused to turn around.

“DaeHyun-sshi…please…tell me…was…was it DaeHee-sshi?”

“EunWoo.”

She stiffened at how cold his voice sounded. Dread filled her whole body at what he was going to tell her, not likely where this was going.

“For your sake, I suggest you erase all that naïve hope you have in you.”

At his words, she let go, her worst fears realized.

If only she had seen the bitter and pained expression on DaeHyun’s face as he spoke those words.

~

Ding dong.

DongWoo looked around as he waited for the door to open. He immediately greeted the butler with a bow, entering the vicinity with a bright smile.

“I came to check on the puppies HoWon picked up,” he laughed. The butler nodded with a bow, allowing him entrance.

“And how is Master HoWon doing?” asked the butler as he led DongWoo to the puppies.

“He’s doing well. Studying hard,” DongWoo lied through his teeth with amazing certainty. The butler nodded and asked no more. He knew how intensely concentrated HoWon can get when he’s determined to get something done. Apparently his friends had informed the household that HoWon was studying over at DongWoo’s in English.

“Hey! Nurungie! Dubu!” cheered DongWoo as he kneeled down and greeted the pair. The two siblings anxiously greeted him, whimpering and whining, climbing up his leg.

“Oh…where’s Coco?”

“…didn’t he go with Master Hoya?”

DongWoo stared down at the two puppies as his wheels in his head turned at full speed.

He smiled back at the butler brightly, “Do you mind if I walk the two of them?”

~

EunWoo sighed as she sat on the couch, mulling over DaeHyun’s words. She still had a glimmer of hope with all the events that had occurred recently that maybe DaeHyun did like her back. But her hope had dwindled down to a small speck at this point.

She was brought back to reality by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Looking around, everyone else seemed to be upstairs, so she got up to get the door. She looked through the peep hole to see a young man smiling brightly.

She opened the door slightly, chained up at the top so he couldn’t just barge in if he wanted to.

“Hello! I just moved here today and wanted to meet my new neighbors. I brought over some kimchi. Can I come in?” he greeted with a smile.

She looked back with a frown. Something didn’t feel right about this encounter…not to mention, she had a feeling the boys didn’t want anyone coming into their apartment unannounced.

“I’m sorry. It’s really messy in here, so I’m not really prepared for guests,” EunWoo declined politely. When she tried to close the door, he put his foot in between the frame and the door.

“Please? I’ve already made more than enough kimchi for multiple people.”

EunWoo stared at the door apprehensively. His persistence was extremely suspicious, but more importantly…

“…how do you know there’s more than one person living here…”

Silence.

Then she heard a low chuckle.

“Observant one, aren’t you?”

EunWoo screamed in surprise when a loud ping exploded the chain lock. He shoved the door open, violently throwing her back. She gasped at the gun raised in her direction, the obvious weapon of choice that had forcibly unlocked the door.

“Where’s that blond boy?”

“W-What? Who?” EunWoo stuttered, backing away in fear.

“Umma!” growled Bi as he charged in bravely, immediately chomping hard on his hand, forcing him to drop his gun. The man threw Bi across the room effortlessly. Luckily for Bi, DaeHee had heard the commotion and charged down, catching the boy before he could slam painfully into the wall. There were no words exchanged as DaeHee charged at the man, who pulled out a dagger to defend himself.

DaeHee expertly dodged all of his attacks. She was confused. Clearly, this must have been an assassin assigned to damage them. But his skills were not even close to par of a professional. She could read all of his movements from a mile away. It was like he was purposely being obvious…or he was really this bad.

“Who are you?” growled DaeHee.

“Doesn’t matter who I am. All that matters is who you are, Jung DaeHyun.”

She knew it. He was after DaeHyun…but he didn’t seem to know about her existence. She would play along.

“So come quietly or I’ll blow your head off,” threatened the man, taking out another gun, pointing it at DaeHee, who wasn’t the least bit fazed.

“I don’t believe that for a second. You need me alive, don’t you?” DaeHee cockily replied.

“Perhaps.”

Click.

DaeHee glared as he pointed the gun back at EunWoo.

“But I don’t need her alive.”

BOOM.

EunWoo screamed as the bullet fired scraped the side of her arm.

She watched in horror as the man crumpled to the ground, blood pooling out of the bullet hole on his head.

DaeHee sighed in relief, falling on her knees, as the other boys streamed down the stairs.

“Noona! Are you okay? I’m sorry! DaeHyunnie-hyung called me immediately when he heard the gunshot but it took some time to reassemble my rifle for-” JunHong rambled, only to be stopped by DaeHee’s hand ruffling his hair.

“I’m okay, JunHongie. Don’t panic, you did fine. The shot was perfect.”

HimChan ran over to EunWoo, who had Bi clinging onto her desperately.

“Are you okay, EunWoo?”

She looked up at him, fear evident in her eyes as she stared at the dead man that everyone seemed to be so calmly disregarding. The sweet, innocent JunHong had shot that man? He couldn’t have…she couldn’t even imagine JunHong hurting a fly let alone killing someone.

“W-Who are you guys?”

EunWoo didn’t miss the horribly apologetic stare from HimChan.

“I’m sorry for bringing you into this, EunWoo…but you have to trust us…please…” HimChan begged, noticing the growing wariness on EunWoo’s face.

This was all going horribly wrong.

bubblehana: HAHAHAAHA, I’M SORRY! SHE WAS ALWAYS HIS TWIN! I JUST LIKE TROLLING PEOPLE! :3 I was leading everyone on…before pushing everyone into the water. Because…I’m a horrible, horrible person. /throws a lifesaver/

hiikyoung: I will find that JaeHee ship and destroy it. DESTROY IT, I SAY. I really love stories…they’re so pretty and wonderful~ :3 /is still trying to figure out how YoungJae did it as well/

-boundless: WELCOME NEW READER! /throws a party/ I didn’t sink the DaeMi ship~ it never existed to begin with. Naw~ well, to each their own~ But I don’t see what’s so bad about EunWoo~ ^ ^ You are not dumb. You are just following  a very difficult to follow story. XD Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Yixicorn: Hahahahahahaa, oh, I’m so glad. XD You and hiikyoung need to stop with the JaeHee ship! Stop it! I thought through EunWoo’s background and decided that she’s disappeared for long periods of time before from home, so her parents aren’t all too worried yet. XD After all, she’s not exactly on the best terms with them. And I agree, DaeHee…is not the fluffiest person…XD And psh, you’re awake at 4 regardless of my update. XD

-imhungry: NO MERCY IS AMAZING. THE WHOLE ALBUM IS AMAZING. I REALLY LIKE ALL OF THE SONGS AGAIN. YoungJae is the closest to the twins. DaeHee is more complicated than a 4-dimensional labyrinth…

Cheoneunnie: IN THE NEXT CHAPTER!

NazSamz: NO ! No, no, no, no iiiiincest~! Yeah, we are the B.A.P!

Chapter 38: I'm sorry but honestly speaking, Daehee is not my favorite characters, I get that she suffers but I dislike how she expresses it all. Like she doesn't seem to understand others pain, she doesn't give them a chance
And I like DaeWoo but will Eunwoo be a traitor? Like she has to have some type of secret and don't think I've forgotten about chanyeol and Key
