HER
Mr Cold HeartIt was silent.
A pin drop could be heard because of the silence, and you could feel more joy in a graveyard. A family sat at a polished dining table, facing each other while wearing different expressions each on their faces.
"I don't want to get married,"
"Chae,"
"You heard me."
Mr. Park and Mrs. Park frowned at each other; they both know Chaeyoung could be stubborn, but they didn't know she could be hard-headed even at this level.
"Chae, it's in your Grandma's will testament. You need to marry the son of the Min family because of a century-old promise."
"To hell with the promise! I won't marry anyone!" Park Chaeyoung, the youngest at the moment, stood up and yelled. "Why not Alice?! She follows your every command!"
"Chae!" Mr. Park said gravely, "Don't act this way. You're now an adult,"
Chaeyoung bit her lower lip in frustration. I don't want to marry, I just graduated last year... I want to travel, I want to eat several varieties of food... is that much to ask?
Besides, how could they do this? After all those promises... Chaeyoung bit her lip harder.
"I won't be marrying the son of the Min family, and that's it," she said with finality in her tone, “If you still like to insist otherwise, consider me not your daughter anymore."
"Chaeyoung!" Alice stood up from where she's seating, a serious look at her face. "This is what you could do best for the family—"
"Then why don't you do it?" Chaeyoung asked tauntingly, "Because that's your job; pleasing the family. The hell I care."
"Don't talk to me like that!" her big sister called, "I'm still your older sister!"
Chaeyoung turned for the last time, a dark shadow resting against her face. Scoffing, she spoke. "I never considered you as my sister."
