Nu-GiC, pronounced to sound like 'music', standing for Nu girls, innovation and charisma, is the next big thing from SM. An idea that bloomed, but also got some flack for being NCT with some sprinkles of Loona, who was revealing members at the time. SM's most complicated idea for a group to date, and they bet a LOT on this group to succeed... But what if they didn't?

Two months before the second anniversary of the release of the 7th sense and the debut of NCT's first subunit, NCT U, SM released a mysterious teaser. There were rumors spreading around for a few months already, that NCT would be getting a female equivalent. The teaser ended up confirming it all. SM had been preparing the girls for a long time, so they were ready and hyped to debut.

Exactly one week later, the first Nu girl was revealed to the world. For now, it was just one girl, but fans knew that they would be getting more and more girls to love. The first one was only the beginning. From then on, every Nu girl would be revealed one by one with a solo accompanying them, a year long, bi-monthly. And then, exactly two years after NCT's debut, Nu-G Mars would make their debut, but there was a twist. Instead of the units being decided by the company, the lineup would be voted by fans every time, and the members could skip out on unit promotions if they had other schedules or wishes. It was basically a way too convoluted plan of NCT, but decided by fans, and the reveal plan stolen from Loona. Is it too much? Yes. Will it be succesful? Hopefully so.

The Nu girls saw it coming when they encountered the same problems NCT had. Unfair line distributions, overworking of people who were in multiple units, while others had only one, or even none. Shown favouritism towards the popular and more skilled members. The fans were outraged, but the girls knew that it was going to happen one day, so they tried to deal with it with the help of their brothers of NCT. Close bonds were formed, and through the years, Nu-CT will get more and more intertwined, both on and off-camera, and they will grow more and more powerful too. Their empire is expanding.
