Hi guys!
This is a story I've had on my mind for years now, but you know how life is, I haven't been on aff since 2018. I'm not even sure if the community is still here, but all the new hybe releases got me hyped (boy) and I got inspiration to do this appfic. Hopefully people from outside the community see this and will be interested enough to check it out. That means you - person on the bts tag who was curious about this story! So please apply, even if you're curious about this and only like bts and don't really know what applyfics are.

he rebranding of BigHit Entertainment into Hybe Corporation in march 2021 set the k-pop word abuzz. Merged with companies like Source Music and Pledis, bringing in female trainees old and new, everyone knew - it was only a matter of time until a girl group emerged out of this. First Source Music, then Ador - the announcements of upcoming girl groups rang left and right. Yet nothing from Big Hit Music, the company who gave birth to the legendary BTS.
That is, until January 2022, when a particularly sneaky fan discovered hybe corporations had tradmarked the group name: Pop Girls. The news spread like wildfire, setting the industry and the k-pop world ablaze with speculation. Not even two weeks later, Big Hit Music published a single picture of nine girls, their backs turned towards the camera. The caption read: "ready to pop?"
In March 2022, Pop Girls, the new girl group under Big Hit Music, debuted. The concept? A girl group that represents the range of Hybe music - with rotational units showcasing all the capabilities of pop, both in Korea and the whole world.
But not everything is as innocent as it seems.
