Will You Marry Me?

69 Marry me

"So uhm..." Chunji cleared his throat awkwardly. Jiyeon and him were strolling around the National Park that was rather near to the hospital L.Joe was staying in and the whole journey, none of them said anything until now.

Jiyeon looked at him hopefully.

"You're Miss Dinosaur." Chunji commented, facepalming himself for the stupid comment. Really, you're miss Dinosaur? DUH.

Jiyeon nodded and looked at him. "And you're power voice." she smiled slightly.

Chunji chuckled softly and stuffed his hands in his pocket as he walked beside her. "You're one fiesty dinosaur." he smiled. "I didn't know one of Mihye's friends would turn out to be like this."

Jiyeon gave him an incredulous look. "And what about you?" she retorted. "Always looking into that mirror of yours. I never thought Byunghun would have a friend like you too." she chided.

Chunji bit back a smile. Even now, she still acted like that stubborn but endlessly adorable Dinosaur he fell in love with. But never has things felt so real before. He took a deep breath of the fresh air in the park and smiled. He liked it like this. Walking with her leisurely.

"You know," Chunji started. "I always looked forward to the meetings held by WO and MO." he started. "I think I'm kinda insane, but I really enjoyed-"

"CHUNJI OPPAAAA~~" a high pitched voice was heard before a ball of pink hurled itself into Chunji's arms. "Chunji oppa! What are you doing here? I missed you! Why don't you call me after I gave you my number?" she pouted.

Chunji looked shell shocked and Jiyeon gaped at the girl that was clinging desperately to his arm. "Errr Jisun ah.. this isn't the best moment right now. You see i'm in the middle of my confessio-" he started but Jisun wouldn't hear any of it. "Oppa~ What are you doing with this ugly woman?" she pouted. "You can do better than this!" she looked JIyeon up and down in distaste.

Jiyeon, highly offended, grabbed her bag tightly and stormed off, her long curls cascading behind her as she strode away. *Idiot Lee Chanhee. What power voice. What looking forward to the meeting. It's just lies and nonsense.*

Chunji gaped at her and panicked. He pushed Jisun into a bush without thinking and ran after Jiyeon. Jisun's eyes were wide with shock as she fell head first into the bush and ants crawled onto her merrily." LEE CHANHEE!!!!" she shrieked.

Chunji ignored her and dashed after Jiyeon, running even faster when she took off too. He finally caught up with her and grabbed her arm, yanking her to him. "What!" Jiyeon looked pissed. "Just go back to your precious Jisun since you can do SOOOO much better." she said sarcastically.

She turned to go but Chunji's grip was firm. "Wait." He took a deep breath. "Just listen to me."

"I wanted to say that I've always looked forward to the meetings between MO and WO because then I can see you," Chunji said quickly in a rush. "And I find myself thinking about you in between the meetings, wanting to see you again and you fill my mind completely that I'm practically paralysed and unable to think of anything else. I always didn't believe in commiting to one girl only but after I met you I couldn't think of any future that didn't consist of you and only you. You make me crazy Jiyeon so..." he took another deep breath, staring into her eyes. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Jiyeon took a few moments to respond, before bursting into laughter and throwing her arms around his neck. "Yes!" she squealed. Chunji brightened and hugged her back, feeling energized and completely happy. So this was what love feels like.

Pure bliss.

"Thank you soooo much Mihye!" Minji's father and mother thanked Mihye a thousand times and still wouldn't stop. "You don't know how grateful we are to you. If not for you, our dear Minji would be killed by that horrible Rain guy!"

Mihye shook her head. "It's nothing." she blushed pink. "I couldn't let such a cute girl get hurt like this right?" she patted Minji's head. Minji beamed cutely and snuggled onto Mihye's lap. "Thank you unnie~" she beamed.

"How are you and Byunghun doing?" Minji's mother asked when L.Joe went to the toilet."Hasn't he said anything yet?"

Mihye pouted and shook her head. "He hasn't." she admitted sadly.

Minji's mother made a face. "Aish. That newphew of mine has always been rather slow in that love department." she grumbled. "I remember when he got his first love confession when he was in kindergarten, he still didn't know what was a girlfriend and a boyfriend, and he actually told the girl that if she wanted a boyfriend he could ask his mother to buy it for her."

Mihye giggled, shaking her her in amusement.

"Oh yeah I remember that." Minji's father laughed heartily. "I also remember when he was so shocked about the concept of when he was around fourteen or fifteen and he ran home, crying because his other friends talked about and he didn't know what the hell they were talking about."

Minji's mother giggled. "Oh yes dear, I remember that too." she smiled. She looked at them. "So Mihye ah, you mustn't be too hard on our Byunghun." she convinced. "He's always slow on this sort of things, but anyone can tell that he's completely in love with you. Just give him some time."

Mihye nodded as L.Joe came back from the toilet. She avoided his eyes and bit her lip. *I guess. But you're taking an awfully long time, Byunghun oppa.*

L.Joe sent Mihye home and the journey was once again completely silent. It was the epitome of awkwardness.

Mihye bade L.Joe goodbye and went into her old house sadly, wondering why L.joe hadn't made a move. Didn't he love her? What was taking him so long?

Mihye pouted and went into the house, going into her room straight and staring at the wall in misery. Perhaps he changed his mind about her after taking the knife for her? That she wasn't worth the trouble?

Mihye buried her face in her pillow, sighing.

All of a sudden, she heard a car parking itself outside and she peered out of the window. She raised her brows when she saw that it was L.joe's car and she went down immediately, opening the door. "Byunghun oppa?"

L.Joe pretended to be surprise to see her and that he was engaged in looking at the flowers in the garden. "Oh Mihye."

MIhye blinked at him. "what are you doing here, Byunghun oppa?"

L.joe stared at his shoe. "Err....I was just passing by." he cleared his throat.

"Oh." Mihye's face fell. "Then you should be on your way then."

L.Joe stared at her. "Uhm.. yeah." he bit his lip. "Then...I'll get going first?"

"Arraso." MIhye nodded.

L.Joe continued standing there, as they stared at each other, not able to tear their eyes away from one another's. Seconds ticked away and L.Joe still wasn't leaving. Mihye grew irritated and she opened to speak, when L.Joe reached out and pulled her towards him, crushing her to him. "Aish." he muttered.

Mihye' eyes widened, confused and shocked.

"I guess you know it already," L.Joe muttered. "No, the whole of South Korea knows it already. But I want to tell you personally because it's what I feel for you, Mihye. I'm sorry I took so long but I'm just not used to this. It was easier when you were the Queen because I still wasn't this hopelessly in love with you."

He took a deep breath. "I love you Choi Mihye. I'm hopelessly hopelessly in love with you and I'm not lying when I said that I can't leave without you anymore. This started out as a loveless marriage, but now I'm certain there's nobody I love more than you."

"CHoi Mihye, will you marry me, seriously this time?" L.Joe gulped and looked at her holding his breath.

Mihye blinked at him for a few moments and L.joe was really afraid that she may really refuse him. Until...

"ARE YOU AN IDIOT?" Mihye whacked his head. "What took you so long!" she complained. "I was waiting all along and you didn't seem to respond even after all this we've been through! I thought you changed your mind!" she heaved.

L.Joe chuckled and gathered her in his arms. He nuzzled her cheek and sighed. "I'm sorry. Ordering this and waiting for it to be made takes time you know." he pulled out a diamond ring from his pocket. Mihye's eyes widened and she gaped at him in surprise.

L.Joe shrugged, though his cheeks were pink. "I wanted to make a real one, not the one our parents picked. But one that really represents our love."

He looked at her hesitantly. "So...was that a yes or a no?" he asked confusedly.

Mihye laughed and hugged him back. "YES! A thousand times yes!" she squealed. L.Joe broke into a brilliant smile as he spun Mihye around, laughing loudly in this carefree manner that he never had before. The pure happiness was exploding out of his heart and he never thought that he could be any happier than he was right then.

Mr and Mrs Choi grinned and watched from the second storey of their house. Mr Choi watched sentimentally. "I guess I'll have to go through another time of the wedding and handing Mihye over to this man again..." he murmured.

Mrs Choi on the other hand had ran for her cellphone immediately without a moment's hesitation. "MRS LEE!!!! HE PROPOSEEEEDDD!! You owe me a hundred thousand won!" she clapped.
