Prologue

After Heaven exiled Solar to the Earth, her remaining power continue to deteriorate and she was reduced to a mere living, or should we say ‘a mere mortal’? The source of her power, her Moon was nowhere around. That one unforgettable dark day when Solar transfer her angel’s power to Moonbyul, the core of her energy went along with it and Moonbyul has become the source for her survival.

Once she landed on the ground, her first priority was Moonbyul. After searching for her across half of the human world for three years, Solar had no more strength to go further. She settled down to do something what she loves before she turned to ashes.

Every night before she sleeps, Solar prays. ‘Let no harm befall on her. Guide her to me as she was. Forgive our sins and shower us with happiness.’

 ‘Five years. I have not stop looking for her for five years. I know she is out there somewhere and she needs me. If not for her sacrifice, I would have perished in the hands of Lucifer. I must find her before she encounters with Lucifer here.’

Moonbyul gulped in the drink, facing the bartender making drinks for the other customers. She signaled for another round and the bartender placed the refilled glass before her. She brings the glass to her lips to take a sip but she was stopped by a familiar voice.

“Moon!” The sassy girl sat at the tall stool besides Moonbyul. “I knew I would find you here.” The bartender served the girl her usual drink. “Arigato.”

Hanabi turned to Moonbyul, “Have you found the person you are looking for?”

Moonbyul shook her head as she swallowed the cold drink with a loud gulp.

It caught Hanabi’s full attention. She could not stop staring at the lips taking small sips from the dewy glass. As a secret admirer of Moonbyul, Hanabi always stick around Moonbyul, inspecting her every move. Moonbyul came to Tokyo six months ago and met Hanabi who was a daughter of a business man. She befriended Hanabi as the family had a wide connection across the country and even other nearby countries; making things easier for her to search for Solar.

“It would be a waste to let someone like you wonder around, searching for a person who you don’t even know is alive or dead.” Hanabi finished the drink in one shot and ordered another.

Moonbyul rolled her tongue and thumped the glass on the desk.

“Even if the person is your lover, they might have move on by now. Do you think they will stay the same after so many years?”, Hanabi smirked. “Don’t be naïve. You will only end up as a fool.”

“Why are you here?”, Moonbyul finally look at her. The cold pissed eyes bore through her heart; which was supposed to meant ‘get lost’, Hanabi rather fell for Moonbyul. “You should know there are other people in this world who could love you more than that person of yours who left you. Is that so hard to give others the chance to love you? If I were you, I would have forgotten about it and enjoyed my life by now. It’s not like you would die without them.”

The phone in her purse buzzed at that moment. Hanabi took out her phone and watch something on it. Her face lit up at first then slowly turned to a frown. She heaves a sigh and passed the phone to Moonbyul.

Moonbyul curiously took the phone and watch the video of a girl singing passionately. Her eyes widen in disbelief and the heart-beat paced faster. Moonbyul covered her jaw-dropped mouth and stared at the video. At the end of the video, a smile curved on her face.

Moonbyul stood up and took her jacket by her arm to leave. “Where are you going?”, Hanabi asked as she too hurried with her drink to follow Moonbyul.

However, Moonbyul leaned close to Hanabi’s ear and whispered. “First, I am not you and yes, I would die without her and she would die without me. Second, I have a flight to catch. Sayonara.”

“This is Moon Byul-yi. She is the new member. Get to know each other and become the best girl group.”

‘Moonbyul? My Moonbyul?’ Solar stood there in agape seeing Moonbyul before her eyes all fresh, handsome and gorgeous.
