Nightmare

Yang Yoseob; Finding You

Jieun woke up from her dream as she opened her eyes. She looked around and realized that she was in her room. Slowly, she sat, leaning at the head of her luxurious wooden bed. She pulled her comforter to her chest as she went deeply in her thought. She was dreaming of that boy again, the boy that she saw in Yoseob before. However, in her dream, that chubby little boy was with another boy, a little bit higher and maybe older. It never happened to her, to dream about vision that she saw. Was that dream real?

Jieun sighed as she didn’t have the answer to that question. However, somehow, she knew that the chubby little boy was Yoseob. She didn’t really sure about it but her instinct strongly said it was him. Most probably because of the same features that the little boy had with Yoseob, the chubby cheeks, the innocent-looking eyes, and small thin lips.

If the dream was real, it meant Yoseob was also a slave long ago. Jieun started to feel sympathy. She never knew how a slave’s life went on although she had lived near the factory for her whole life. From what she had seen in her dream, it was really hard. She knew she couldn’t bare that kind of life and surrounding. To be born and grown up in such place, it must be difficult. To just eat a medium-sized bun a day, it must be hard to be endured. To sleep in smelly, cold and uncomfortable concrete floor, it must be aching. To be survived while others were dying, it must be saddening.

Jieun bit her lower lips lightly. “Poor Yoseob,” she whispered as her eyes squeezed, holding the tears. However, the clear liquid slowly fell from the corner of her closed eyes.

Tsk. Tsk.

She unintentionally made a light sound as she was crying.

Gikwang woke up instantly when he heard the crying sound. He was sleeping at the sofa in the princess room, as usual although he had his own room. This was to protect her.

Quickly, he rushed to the princess bed and saw Jieun was crying on her bed.

“Miss, are you okay?” Gikwang asked anxiously. Jieun rarely woke up in the middle of the night. Was it nightmare that she had after watching the vision in Yoseob? Was it that scary?

Jieun was surprised to hear the asking voice. She instantly turned to the voice, showing her teary eyes. “Gikwang-ah,” she said in her shaking voice as she recognized the person standing before her eyes.

Gikwang sighed. It must be a nightmare. In hesitated, he sat on the edge of the soft comfy bed. He took a good look in her eyes and smiled. “It’s okay, I’m here,” Gikwang tried to assure.

For some reason, it made Jieun felt like crying even more. Unexpectedly, she went to Gikwang and circled her arms around Gikwang neck. Then, her cry worsened. However, she was comfortable with the situation since Gikwang was the person that she trusted the most now. Since, her grandfather was gone. She cried louder as she remembered her grandfather and how she missed him.

Gikwang was shocked with Jieun sudden attack towards him. However, he didn’t hate it. Gikwang smiled as he heard Jieun was crying even louder. Gently, he patted Jieun hair. Softly, he repeatedly whispered in her ear. “It’s okay,”

*******

Yoseob instantly opened his eyes. He was a bit surprised that he was sleeping in a large suite room. Slowly, he remembered that he was staying in Lee Kwang Soo’s resident, more than that, he was sleeping in his room tonight. It was because that room was connected with Jieun room. As his mission was to protect her, sleeping in Lee Kwang Soo’s room would ease him to go save her if anything ever happen to her. He chuckled to his forgetful self. Then, he remembered the dream that he had earlier, the dream of his past and him, Junhyung, the person that he was looking for. He smiled bitterly, remembering how he missed the moment he had with that person.

It must be because of the visit to the factory earlier of the day. It reminded him of the past. Yoseob started to worry as he needed to visit the factory at least once in three months. It would take a long time before he would be recovered from those repeating nightmare. He would have the nightmare again and again. He hated to have a tiring sleepless night. What would happen to him if this continued?

Suddenly, a sound was heard from Jieun’s room. Yoseob quickly got off his bed, grabbed the gun under the pillow and went to the door that connected to Jieun’s room. Without making a sound, he placed his ear on the door, to listen to the sound again. Yoseob frowned. Was it crying sound? Was Jieun crying?

Still, he had to investigate. If she was crying, meant there was something wrong. Carefully, he opened the door.

Gikwang was to absorb in comforting Jieun that he didn’t notice the opening door. Opposite to Jieun, she heard the opening door thus, she quickly turned to the door and frozen. It made Gikwang turned to the door, to see what Jieun was seeing. It made Jieun let go of her hold to Gikwang.

“What happens?” Yoseob asked, worried. Could it be that burglar came and broke into her room?

“She has a nightmare,” Gikwang replied calmly.

Yoseob kept back his gun and smiled in guilty. Most probably, it was because of him as she saw something scary in him. “I’m sorry,” he said guiltily as he slowly turned to his room.

“Wait,”

Yoseob stopped. Slowly, he turned back.

Jieun gently got off the bed, revealing herself in the white silk night gown. Somehow, she looked as an angel. Even the darkness couldn’t hide her glowing beauty.

Yoseob was once again awed with her beauty even with the teary eyes and tiring look. Then, he saw she slowly made her was towards him.

Within few seconds, she was standing right before Yoseob. She took a deep breath and looked upward.

Unintentionally, Yoseob looked into her eyes. This time, he tried to look away but he couldn’t. Was it happening again?

Again, Jieun was penetrated into him and she saw the same thing. She was scared as she was influenced by Yoseob’s feeling. It was normal to be influenced. It happened to anyone that she penetrated into. Then, she cried out of sadness and sympathy.

Gikwang quickly went to her, to save her from the vision that she saw in Yoseob. But then, he stopped as he saw Jieun was hugging Yoseob.

Yoseob was shocked with Jieun that suddenly circled her arm around his waist. He didn’t reply the hug as he was frozen. It was hard for him to understand the situation.

“I’m sorry,” Jieun whispered softly in her trembling voice. She was so sorry for what had happened in his past. If only, she knew how to help him.

Yoseob became more confused. What was she saw in him that made her doing this?

Gikwang was also shocked. Then, he felt the slight burn in his chest as his heart beat faster. What was that? Why did he feel like this? Why did he hate this situation? But the big question that burdened him the most was why she hugged him?
