“Don’t sign the paper!”

The Significance of One

Hee Bon’s POV

I nodded my head, out of breath.

“Don’t sign the paper!” I pleaded. Everyone gave me a confusing look. I quickly fumbled with my portfolio and handed it to Mr. Kim. He took it, still confused. He didn’t seem like he was going to open it any time soon.

“Open it!” I yelled. He finally understood. He opened it and saw a piece of paper with all the evidence shown in it. I gulped while I waited.

“This press conference is cancelled!” declared Mr. Kim. I sighed in relief. Everyone started mumbling and whispering. I slumped into a free chair. I got my water bottle out and gulped a bit. After a while, I saw Mr. Kim’s eyes widen. I bet he knows already.

“Hee Bon-shii, can you come with me?” Mr. Kim asked. I nodded and followed him with Mrs. Kim following behind him. We walked to the back stage while Junsu, Ri In, Mrs. Kim and Junho were clueless to what is happening now.

“Hee Bon-shii, are you sure this true?” he asked. I nodded.

“I researched everything again. I even know who did this,” I explained. Mrs. Kim suddenly put up her hand, stopping us from taking this any further.

“Wait, what are you guys even talking about?” Mrs. Kim asked. I forgot that she didn’t know a thing. We were both silent. I looked at Mr. Kim and he looked at me. I decided to explain it myself.

“Well, you see, Mrs. Kim, Ri In isn’t really Junsu’s cousin. The site was a fraud,” I explained, clearly cutting it short.

“Oh,” Mrs. Kim let out and nodded her head continuously in a slow manner.

“Hee Bon-shii, you said you know who the person that did this. Who is that person?” Mr. Kim asked.

“Why, though?” I asked back.

“I want to clarify this and handle that person,” Mr. Kim answered. He seems very serious.

I decided that I will tell Mr. Kim, “That person is…”

“Me,” someone completed my answer for me. I whipped my head towards the voice, which was at the back of me. I was shocked to see it was this person.

“H-hang Kyung?” I asked.

“It was you!” Mr. Kim stated more then asked.

“Yes, it was me,” Hang Kyung replied to the statement.

“Why are you here?” I asked.

“Just don’t wreck my plan. I am trying to put those two together by this,” Hang Kyung said. I was shocked once again. Hang Kyung helping Junsu and Ri In get together?

“Why would you do that?” Mr. Kim confused as I was. Hang Kyung put his hands into his pockets.

“I think of Li Yin as a sister. I also know that the son of yours likes Li Yin but he isn’t doing anything. So I decided to help them two,” Hang Kyung replied. I was confused. I thought Hang Kyung thinks Ri In of more than a sister.

“I thought you like her more than a sister,” I stated.

“Yes, I used to think that but, after thinking again, I think my feelings for Li Yin are more of brother and sister type,” he replied and smiled a bit. His eyes were very honest so I believed him but there was something I just don’t get. I am still thinking about it.

“Then why must you set this up? You know that, once they sign the paper, they officially become strangers,” I finally asked.

“That is where you come in,” he said. I was confused, again. I raised my eyebrows.

“What are you talking about?” I questioned.

“Though you may be a smart person yourself, you can never surpass me,” he said and smirked. I still didn’t get it. What made him smarter than me? And, is this answer even irrelevant to the question I asked? I kept my eyebrows raised, keeping silent.

“I predicted that you would come and stop the divorce. I wanted you to do that so Li Yin and Junsu will be clueless of everything. And thus, Junsu will admit to Li Yin his true feelings,” he explained. I kind of registered all the information.

“So, this is all planned? You even planned what we are doing now?” I asked stupidly.

“Yes,” he replied. Okay, this guy is seriously a psychic.

“No, I am not a psychic,” he stated. What?! Now he says he isn’t a psychic?

“I knew because the entire thing is what a normal human being would do. If someone had the level of IQ like you, they would have done the same thing. Say, if you drop something, depending on a kind of person, one will try and catch it and the other will bring their hands up to the side of them and wait for the sound of the impact,” he paused to take a breath, “But then, the person who will try and catch it, will catch anything that drops; including boiling water,” he concluded with a smirk on his face. This time I felt stupid. I understood all he was saying. He can tell the difference between people. He knew that I was going to take action. I admit it; Hang Kyung is smarter than I thought. I underestimated him, belittled him.

“What are we to do now?” Mr. Kim asked after being silent for a while.

“Just follow what I say,” Hang Kyung said and leaned in. We all crouched in and listened to the plan.

“How’s that?” asked Han Kyung after he finished telling us the plan. We all smiled in agreement.

“Hwaiting!” we all yelled and pumped our fist.

Ri In’s POV

I wonder what Hee Bon-shii, Appa and Omma are talking about in there.

“Junsu Oppa!” I heard someone yell. I turned my head to my left, which was where Junsu was sitting. It was Taeyeon.

“Hey,” Junsu said dully. He must be a bit mad and sad that we didn’t sign the paper. My heart cracked a little.

“You haven’t signed the papers yet!” whined Taeyeon.

“Don’t worry, we will,” Junsu comforted Taeyeon. I was sad and happy at the same time. Sad that Junsu also wants to sign the paper but happy that he used ‘we’ saying him and me together.

“We will have to think positively! We can pass all this and can be together happily ever after! Our love will be stronger once this is over!” Taeyeon boosted. I scoffed. She sounded like she was one of those girls in dramas. Except they never boost like her. No, they are never as confident as her.

“What!?” Taeyeon demanded me, annoyed.

“Please, what drama did you steal that line from?” I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes. Junsu and Taeyeon sent me a death glare but I didn’t care. There wasn’t a thing I cared in the world after I sign the paper. How long am I going to wait? Why can’t Appa, Omma and Hee Bon quicken up? I just want this over and done with.

“Just ignore her,” Junsu said. He turned away and kissed Taeyeon full on the lips. I felt anger rose from me.

“You’re lucky that the reports are all out,” I said and turned away from them, restraining the tears that were about to fall. My eyes were already watery. They ignored me and kept on kissing.

“Pay respect to your wife,” I heard someone say in an angry voice. It was Junho. I forgot he was there.

“No need, Hyung,” Junsu simply said and carried on with the kissing.

“Ahem,” I heard someone cough. I turned towards the stage exit and saw Appa. Junsu and Taeyeon immediately broke off. I burst out laughing from the look of Junsu. He seemed very scared. Laughter is very contagious and yes, it made Hee Bon, Junho, Appa and Omma laugh too. Part because of me and part because the look on Junsu’s face.

“Look at yourself through the mirror again, Junsu,” Junho said and continued laughing. I heard six melodic sound of laughter coming from us. Wait, six? Well, Junsu and Taeyeon weren’t laughing but there are seven of us here. I stopped laughing abruptly and everyone turned towards me. They stopped laughing too. I turned my head to the side and saw Han Geng Oppa. I was surprised. What was Han Geng Oppa doing here?

“Han Geng Oppa?” I asked, just in case.

“Hmm?” he asked back. I was taken back.

“Why are you here?” I questioned.

“I just want to witness everything,” he said with a smile.

“Okay, the divorce will be delayed until we patch things up,” Appa announced.

“What!?” Me, Junsu and Taeyeon yelled. Junho? He was pulled by Hee Bon somewhere.

Mr. Kim’s POV

I told them what this Hang Kyung wanted me to tell them. I trusted Han Geng. Yes, he allowed me to call him that.

*flash back*

“I want you to delay this divorce. For what will happen next, I am not sure myself,” Han Geng said.

“What!?” we all yelled in his ear. He flinched back and a bit and rubbed his ears. He reluctantly leaned his head in again.

“I haven’t told you the whole story yet. I am not sure which plan to work on instead,” Han Geng said.

“Just tell us the plan and we will pick the best one,” I said.

“Okay,” he said and leaned into the circle again. We nodded once in a while to say that we got what he as saying.

“Which one?” Hee Bon asked us once we leaned out once again.

“I think the first idea,” I said.

“No, I liked the second idea the most,” argued my wife.

“Me too!” Hee bon agreed.

“No, I actually think I like the first one better,” Han Geng said.

“See?” I said mockingly to my wife. She rolled her eyes at me.

“That’s unfair! You told us to pick and now you pick yourself!” Hee Bon whined.

“How about we ask Junho?” I suggested.

“Yeah! Great idea Mr. Kim!” Hee Bon complimented me. I smiled.

“Okay then. Whatever Junho’s vote is, we will do that one. Hee Bon, you go ask him,” Han Geng ordered. She nodded her head in agreement.
