THE MISSION

“Dino, get out of the building right now. Terminate the mission.” Scoups furiously
speak through the headpiece as he monitors the movement of the Cobra guard.

“Hyung, it’s nearly finished. I’ll make it out beforehand.” Scoups curse into the
headpiece as he clenches his fist. Watching as the guards went up another floor, he
can’t help but feel antsy crawling all over his body, and the way his heart restlessly
turned in fear.

“Damn it, Dino! I say get out. the mission, we’ll look for-.”

“Scoups, I’ll finish the mission,” he could feel as his body shakes with anger and
fear. He bit his lips in agitation. Dino can’t do this. No, he can’t.

“Dino, I tell you once again, GET. THE. . OUT. OF. THE. BUILDING,” He
could see through his monitor the way Dino slightly tensed up and looked up to the
CCTV they’ve hacked into and he cursed when he saw the determination in his eyes.

“I’ll finish the mission, Scoups,” through the blurry screen, he saw the way Dino’s
eyes burn professionally towards him, and something twinge inside him as he saw the
unfamiliarity of the gaze.

“LEE JUNG CHAN. !” two floors away, he counts as the guards slowly move.
They haven’t been noticed by the other party, but the close proximity makes him
bounce his legs.

He closed his eyes for a while and tried to get his head into the game.

“THE8, floor 12, vent A1B, I need you to spread the gas on my cue later.”

“But, hyung, Dino is still in the room.”

“I know.” He simply said before switching the channel to directly speak towards
Jeonghan.

“Han, clear the balcony of the assistant room, floor 15. We’ll change Dino’s route
of escape.”

“Roger.”

After making sure everything was set into motion. He watches as the guards
walk towards the left wing hallways of the building, then change to channel back to
THE8.

“Now.”

“On it, coups.”

Five minutes, that’s all they have now. He rips the head piece off his head, and
takes the small earpiece.

He watches as the guards fall one by one on the hallway, before turning towards
Mingyu sitting at his side, furiously hacking into their enemy system, trying to take
down their fire alarm.

“Mingyu, keeps me updated.” Mingyu simply nodded his head.

Scoups quickly went out of their van, and ran towards the back alleyway that
Dino would land on later. Monitoring his surroundings. Both of the buildings are tall, and
a one way lane. There’s not even a small crack they can hide on. If they try to run,
they’ll get shot, or surrounded. Gritting his teeth, he tries to suppress the upcoming
panic. Cool-headed, he needed to stay calm. This is his team’s life on the line.
In his earpiece, Seungkwan's frantic whispering attacked him.

“Scoups, the others are starting to move towards the main building.”

“Can you delay them a little longer?” He asks as he continues to observe his
surroundings. Suddenly one of the back doors opens and a man walks out to smoke. From
inside he can hear booming music. Perfect. He really didn’t expect a club to open this
early in the evening.

“I’ll try my best.” Seungkwan grabs Vernon’s hand and smirks.

“Don’t do anything stupid,” Seungkwan chuckles, then answer Scoups with an
affirmative yeah, while crossing his finger on his back.

“Ready to cause mischief?” Vernon answers him with a smirk of his own. Then
they both look up towards the big chandelier in the middle of the room.

Slipping away from the crowded ballroom, they each take their own position of
east and west. Raising their gun and aiming towards the chain holding onto the
chandelier.

This surely will buy Scoups the time he needs.

“Dino, assistant room balcony, in three minutes max.” It was a second of silence
on the other side of the line.

“Hyung, too late. I can hear them outside.” Scoups heart drop. And the cool he
had been trying to keep before breaks as he drench in panic. No, Dino .

“Then go out now. NOW DINO.”

“Hyung count to ten, I’ll be there. The files are nearly done copying.” It was a
whisper now. And from the headpiece he can hear the frantic sound of people trying to
knock down the window. And he almost cried, and he didn't cry, not on mission.

“ Dino. Hurry please, the door on your right is connected to the assistant's
small room. Han opened them a few moments ago.” And after that, Dino was quiet, there
were only sounds of rapid hitting muffled through the door. And Scoups quietly thank
the Cobra for making a sturdy door that even his man can’t take down.

“Hyung, I’m coming.”

He looked up and saw Dino slowly coming down through the ropes Han had
prepared beforehand. Scoups open his arms ready to break the younger’s fall.
Dino looks down at his hyung, and even though he knows that even without
jumping into his hyung’s arm, he will be fine, he still opt to fall into the arms.
Dino let himself fall right into the arms of Scoups.

“Hyung, if we’re not in a life and death situation right now, I would very much
want to kiss you,” Scoups scans his face but his gaze is hard and unforgiving. Dino gulp,
Scoups is angry.

Settling Dino down on his feet, they walk down the alley, right after a few
paces, there are gun shots gone off, and the precision of the shots caused Coups left
ear to bleed. Although it was only a graze.

Dino looks up in panic and tries to cover for Coups. Coups quickly take hold of
Dino’s hand and run faster down the alley. Faster, they need to be out of the man’s
range.

Coups looked back and saw that there were no more men on the balcony. They
must’ve gone down in hope to chase them. Making sure that there are no eyes watching
them, Coups yank the backdoor of the club open and slide into the club.

And just like that, their mission is done, and they are out of the enemy's eyes.

Sitting at one of the tables, Coups knows they are not yet safe.

Wracking his brain for an escape plan, he remembers their other team member
still at the van nearby.

He calculates, he contemplates but he knows that if the van would come to pick
them up here, it could mean death.

“Mingyu? I need you to bring the team back to the HQ.”

On top of Mingyu agreeing to him, he could hear the team disagreement in the
background.

“Is Seungkwan and Vernon there with you?”

“We’re here hyung.”

“What about DK and Jeon?”

“Here too.” He knows he didn’t have to ask about Han and THE8, those two are
coy and always know how to escape. Exactly why their role as backup infiltrator.

“Good, go back to the HQ and help to contact Joshua or Jun to bring us out of
this place.”

“Hyung,” Dino's low voice almost got swallowed by the booming music, but Coups
still heard him. He just chose to ignore him, for now. The moment he starts to talk to
Dino, is when he’ll lose his raging emotion. And he can’t do that right now. Not when
Dino is still not at a safe place.

“Cheol hyung I-,” Dino swallowed whatever words he tried to say when Coups
held his hands up.

“Coups hyung? We’ll try to cause distraction at the main entrance of the club, on
the side, there’ll be cars preparing for you and Chan.”

Coups respond to affirm that he understands. Then gesture for Chan to follow
him.

Soon the main entrance is full of chattering and noise as a racing cars famous
competitor strolls into the club. Scoups smirk as the camera flashes all around Jeon
Wonwoo. If only they know, that’s not the racer, but a conman. He scoffs, then slides
out through the side entrance with Dino right on his heel.

They went into the sleek black car and saw Jun sitting on the driver seat.

“What’s a CEO doing here?” Jun simply smiled.

“Saving the boss.”

And they drive through the night back to the HQ.
