MAMA '18 - La Vie en Rose

Chaeyeon's POV:

It was two months since we've debuted, it was now December and we were invited for a performance at the MAMA '18, we flew to Taiwan for this year end award show to perform our hit debut song La Vie en Rose. We are also performing Yume wo Miteiru Aida, the Intro of the song as a couple and then we'll perform Memory from our first album. MAMA was divided into parts. We were going to perform twice, the other performance was La Vie en Rose and the other Memory. We are currently seated among the audience. Waiting for our turn to perform. We've gotten early slots for our performances because Yujin and Wonyoung were too young to stay up, they'll be whisked away back to the hotel at around quarter to eleven, so we needed to go on at an earlier slot. We were waiting for eight in the evening, it was now quarter to seven. Any moment now, we'll be whisked away to perform La Vie en Rose, first then later at eight, we'll perform Memories. MAMA was a five day affair for us artists. We're supposed to perform until the fifth day of the awards show. We're covering several songs as well, like Wanna One's Energetic, Girls' Generation's The Boys and many other songs that we as a group chose to cover, aside from our own songs.

We've practiced so hard for this day, ever since we found out about our nomination back in the first week of November. MNET was a subsidiary of WM Entertainment, like a sister company of some sort, which was why we were given so many dance numbers through out the five day awards show. They also hosted several reality shows for Twice and IZ*ONME. I was pulled out of my reverie when a show staff whispered to me, saying that it was our turn to get on the stage. I smiled absentmindedly to the staff and nodded my head up and down. I whispered into Kura-chan's ears and she nods towards me. We get up from our seats and proceeded to the backstage to prepare ourselves for the performance of Memory. We were getting ready for our performance, Kura-chan and I were fixing each other's microphone and transmitter packs. She smiles at me, the kind that says I can relax and let myself loose even for just a little bit.

"You can do this, Koibito." She said to me smiling.

"WE, We can do this, Koibito." I corrected her and smiled at her.

I placed a quick kiss to her forehead and held her by the hand. The rest of our team mates were busy talking among themselves. I just held her hand as we waited for our go signal from the staffs. Calmly watching the chaotic people backstage, then her eyes shifted from calm to panicked. I traced her line of sight and found Matsui looking at her intently. She was dressed like a kindergarten student. Signature of the forty eight groups. I can feel jealousy creeping up and the urge to suddenly kill Matsui came back out of nowhere. She held my hand tighter and looked at me and smiled.

"We'll show the world of Asian Pop, how good we are." She says to me.

"We will." I replied to her smiling.

"Just focus on me, from here on out, we will prove our skills to everyone. Please, now is not the time to kill anyone." She replied as she turns my face back to her and smiled.

As if by a higher power stopping me from reaching Matsui's side and strangling the woman, our team mates gathered around Sakura and I. They all put their arms over us and chanted.

IZ, IZ, IZ*ONME, every one pay attention! The loud screaming from our team goes.

"We can do this team!" Kwangbae said into our hands on top of each others.

"We'll kill our performance, day one!" Minjoo says into the hands piled up with each other.

"Yeah, we will. We'll show everyone." Eunbi Unnie says.

"IZ, IZ, IZ*ONME, every one aja!" We all said into our hands piled on top of each other.

We then did a group hug and whispered into each other's ears.

"Do great." We all said to each one.

IZ*ONME you guys are up next, places everyone!

We heard the staffs backstage, we formed into groups for our intro. It was just the two of us on the intro. Sakura and I are the only ones assigned to this intro. There was a video of us on this where we are almost in tears on one of the shows we did, announcing the line up of our group. We knew by that time that I was going to debut with them, but we all thought that I wouldn't, being the last one called for the group's debut. The VTR played and we went to our places. Waiting for the moment to perform Yume wo Miteiru Aida and Memory. The final cut of our VCR came on at the big screen. We did a ballet dance for Yume wo Miteiru Aida and ran across the stage to meet each other and that time was all I could focus on, her beautiful figure running towards me and a smile formed in my lips.

Then another dance break for the intro had commenced, there was drums beating, it was heart stopping, the beats of the drums were making. It was Eunbi, Yena, Tomi, Nako, Yujin, Sakura, Yuri and I dancing to the drum beat intro. Then Memory started to play, Chaewon was opening the intro to the song, then Nako stood on her place, getting ready to sing. It was a dark stage, when the spotlight lighted Nako, she looked cute in her white laced dress, everyone was wearing this now, the quick out fit change was because we wore it underneath the blue velvet suit dress we had o
