When I follow my heart, it leads me to you

Jinki came to a screeching halt in front of the small house he shared with his lover and squeezed the steering wheel as panic assaulted him. His lover was pissed at him and he had every right to be, Jinki felt ashamed for upsetting the smaller man since he swore to never make him upset. 

He stepped out of the car, not even caring that he ruffled his expensive suit in the progress or forgotten his small suitcase, none of it matters as he raced to the front door and clumsily tugged the key from his pockets to insert it into the lock.

The door slammed open and he stepped inside of the hall with a wide chocolate gaze, searching for his lover to beg for forgiveness, he would even go on his knees for him. ‘’Jonghyun!’’ Jinki called out for him, wandering into the depths of the house and checking the living room and their kitchen but there was no sign of him.

‘’Jonghyun! Baby, I’m so sorry!’’ 

He suddenly spotted a shadow appear in the doorway of their bedroom before Jonghyun stepped over the threshold with a concerned expression on his delicate features. ‘’Jinki?’’ Jonghyun asked as he wondered what had the other calling his name in distress but gasped as he was engulfed in strong arms and pushed to a strong chest.

‘’I’m sorry, so sorry…please don’t be upset with me, I will make it up to you,’’ Jinki murmured and ran the palm of his hand over Jonghyun’s back, hoping to soothe him but it only confused Jonghyun more. 

‘’Why are you sorry and make it up to me?’’ The smaller man blinked and slightly pulled away from his boyfriend to study his face, ‘’Are you alright Jinki?’’

Jinki bit his lip and lifted a hand to caress his cheek, ‘’You were so upset back at the office, I didn’t mean to forget, I don’t even know how I missed it!’’ 

Jonghyun tilted his head with a frown and shook his head, ‘’I wasn’t at the office and missed what? Jinki you aren’t making any sense…’’ He began then pulled away to take Jinki’s hand, ‘’You should sit down…’’ He inquired. 

‘’No!’’ Jinki tugged the smaller man back into his arms, ‘’Please don’t hide your feelings for me, I’m such a for forgetting our anniversary…’’ He kissed the top of Jonghyun’s head who was completely baffled. 

‘’Jinki…’’ The smaller man didn’t know what came over Jinki, he didn’t travel to the office today to see Jinki and he wasn’t upset nor was he pissed at Jinki and now he was mentioning their anniversary? ‘’Baby…what happened at the office?’’ He asked slowly, maybe hearing the full story and all the details might make it clearer for him.
