Chapter 2
My UniverseA large black van pulled up at the back entrance of my university. The sliding door quickly opened and I saw Jaehyun, smiling at me like the usual goofy self that he is.
“Hi pretty!” he yelled, pulling me into the van for a hug.
Pretty. His favorite nickname for me.
“Ugh, Jae! It’s been so long,” I smiled, patting his head as he giggled.
“I’m just glad that promotions are over for now. That means I can see you again and finally introduce you to the members.”
I grinned, “I know. You always tell me about them. I’m just glad my best friend has great friends to rely on when I’m not around.”
“But hey, you know you’ll always be my number one…but number two once I get a girlfriend,” he laughed.
I giggled and jokingly hit his head.
The ride was short as my university was only a few minutes away from their company. We parked at the back entrance and walked into the building that I had only seen on the internet.
“Damn. Look at you!” I said, playfully pushing him.
He pushed me back, “Heck yeah. I made it, didn’t I?”
I smiled and nodded as we entered the elevator. We got off and entered one of SM’s infamous practice rooms. I saw a group of boys hovering around and laughing.
“Guys. Meet Eunji.” Jaehyun said, dragging me to stand in front of him.
“Yo, wassup high school!” a tall, dark haired boy said. I recognized Johnny immediately.
I laughed as I realized that they probably gave me that nickname as Jaehyun’s high school best friend. He introduced me to them one by one and I got lost halfway as there were twenty three of them. However, I did remember a bunch of them, especially the 127 members.
“So, you’re a business major? How do you like that so far?”, Jeno asked as Johnny gave me a chair to sit in. It felt weird to be in a room filled with so many boys, then being interviewed like that. It was the complete opposite of what I was used to.
I smiled, “Uh yeah! It’s pretty nice. I graduate this year, so I guess I need to start job hunting.”
“Ah, the feeling we’ll never know. Job hunting,” Haechan laughed as Jaehyun punched him in the arm playfully.
The conversation went on for a few minutes and I began to feel more and more comfortable with all of them. I started to make some connections about which members were in which unit and who seemed more energetic over others. I realized that Johnny and Haechan had unmatchable energy, but I also noticed that someone who liked to keep quiet was Mark, the one from Canada.
Most of the members left to go home and only a few were left inside the practice room.
“I’m heading off! It was nice meeting you, Eunji!” Doyoung smiled as he exited the room.
At this point, it was only Mark, Jaehyun, and me.
“Jaehyun?”, one of the staff members asked as she entered the room, “It’s time for your meeting with the brand manager.”
“Ah yes,” Jaehyun politely said, giving her a small bow, “Ugh, Eunji, I have to go. I totally forgot about this meeting.”
“No, it’s okay! I can just take a taxi home,” I smiled, reassuring him.
He shook his head, “No. Mark will take you home in his van. Are you okay with that bro?”
Mark smiled, “Yeah of course! You live around here anyways right?”
