Jonghyun still cried in the bathroom. All silently, as he did not want to make the others notice. He had the tap and hot water was running down on the cold ground, heating it up and making the bathroom become all steamy. Yet, Taemin and Minho knew that something was off, because their musically gifted roommate was not singing from the top of his lungs in the shower, like he normally would. Taemin lifted a brow, briefly glanced at his charismatic roommate, and then he walked to the bathroom door and knocked on it.

“Jonghyun?” he asked while knocking, “Are you alright in there?”

Minho got up too, approached the door, and leaned his ear on it, to listen to the noise that came from the bathroom. Jonghyun immediately wiped away his tears with the tip of his fingers and palms. He sniffed, washed his face again, and turned off the water of the shower. He then glanced once again in the mirror and wiped the surface to get rid of the steam, and the first thing he looked at were his own red eyes.

“I need a second…” he answered a little belated and washed his face again.

Taemin started to giggle, slightly squinted his eyes with a smirk and looked at Minho.

“Are you in there?” he asked through the door and laughed.

His words made the athlete choke and blush. Minho immediately covered his face with his hands and shook his head from left to right rapidly, as he wanted to get rid of the imagination his friend had put into his mind. The handsome player laughed harder than before. Jonghyun sighed on the other side of the door, and then he finally unlocked it and stepped out. He had put on a fake smile and patted Taemin’s shoulder, while he added a deep sigh.

“Do you always have to think ual?” Jonghyun questioned his roommate and Taemin nodded shamelessly, making the musical genius facepalm.

The handsome player then looked at Minho and decided to step away for now. He walked the little stairs up to his higher located bed and fell on his back, crossing his arms beneath his head and staring at the two boys standing across him. Minho gulped and scratched his neck as he did not know how to start the conversation. His heart pounded hard in his chest, making it difficult to breathe normally. He was beyond nervous, interlocked his fingers and twirled his thumbs round and round. Jonghyun took a deep breath, and he lifted his head to look at the taller student. His heart raced like crazy as well. He felt it beat in his veins along his throat.

“I can’t accept your confession.” Jonghyun suddenly said, without having Minho mention it, “I’m seeing Key… I can’t be together with you.”

Minho’s eyes doubled in size and his heart dropped in pain in the very next second. It was a blink of an eye, but it felt like his heartbeat had stopped. The nervousness was gone, the warmth had disappeared. All that stayed was a broken heart. Jonghyun blinked sadly and waited for Minho’s response. Taemin clenched his lips, his brows were lifted. He had expected this outcome, but he was curious about the next step of his athletic roommate. Minho suddenly chuckled awkwardly, then burst out laughing. He faked it and Jonghyun knew it too well, but he rolled with it. He wanted to make it less awkward for his roommate. Minho lifted his hands and waved them mid-air. He shook his head and pointed towards Taemin out of the blue. Jonghyun threw a glance at the handsome player and made him sit up on his bed. Taemin raised a single brow and lifted his chin in confusion and stared at Minho.

“I- I like him!” Minho lied, turned around and rapidly walked towards the handsome player.

He acted quick and suddenly kissed Taemin on the lips. Minho held the handsome player’s face in between his hands tightly and kissed him crazily. Taemin tried to get rid of his grasp, but he could not escape him. His heart raced, not because he was feeling hot or aroused by the sudden kiss of his roommate, but because he became anxious and stressed out of it. Jonghyun opened his eyes widely. He felt stupid that he had thought that the charismatic boy liked him. He recalled the moment, when he had caught the two lying on the floor the other day, when Taemin had told him that they were about to kiss. Slowly he started to think that there might have been a little bit of truth to it. Finally, the handsome player pushed away Minho and jumped up from his bed.

“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Taemin yelled at him all furious and wiped his lips.

He became angry about Minho’s sudden act, because the handsome player had sworn to himself that he would never date one of his friends. Minho blinked at him with a sulky face, giving him a ‘please help me’-expression. Taemin frowned, clenched his lips, and felt sorry for his roommate. Jonghyun approached them and patted Minho’s back.

“You shouldn’t kiss him out of the blue!” he suggested and laughed, “You do know that his lips are reserved for Jongin!”

Minho blushed nervously and nodded slowly. He then apologized to Taemin and of course Jonghyun sighed to the situation.

“So, I assume you two do have something going on?” he questioned his roommates, giving Minho a reason for an excuse, and crossed his arms, “The other day you were on top of him on the ground…”

Taemin shook his head rapidly and was about to talk back, but Minho instantly covered his mouth.

“Ng... Ng... Ng…” was the noise that Taemin could make.

Jonghyun lifted a brow and seemed sad. He noticed that the charismatic student was trying to overplay it. The musical genius could not be fooled by him, yet he rolled with the decision of Minho lying to him about his feelings.

“Phew…” he finally said, faked a smile and bowed at Minho, “I’m sorry I made false assumptions about your feelings towards me.”

Minho shook his head, while Taemin’s face turned into a disappointed and annoyed expression, hidden partly by the charismatic boy’s hands.

“Ahahaha” Minho laughed awkwardly, “No worries. Taeminnie and I are just fooling with each other, just a beneficial friendship, right Taeminnie?”

The handsome player still had the same expression on and nodded without furt
