Once Upon a DreamMINHO
I wake up with the taste of Taemin still tingling on my lips. I let out a deep breath as I understand I was dreaming. Why does it have to be like that, always? I just wish I could tell myself to stop thinking about him this way. It doesn’t help anything.
I get out of bed and put some clothes on, and after such a long dream, the concept of time feels weird to me. I wish I had time. Things are easier when time doesn’t exist. I get out of my room and walk down the hallway of the dorm, the sounds my band members are making too loud for the early morning.
I stop for a second when I reach the kitchen. Taemin is already sitting there eating breakfast. He quickly glances at me, then looks away, and I frown lightly. It’s unusual of him to act like that. I’m used to him telling me good morning, have you slept well, and here, take a bite of this.
But he keeps eating silently and I sit across from him to eat too. I look up at him from time to time, and one time our gazes meet and I feel breathless. There is something in his eyes, something that isn’t there usually, and I love what I see. Then he looks away and it’s like it never happened. Like always.
“Have you slept well?” I ask quietly when I realize he’s not going to talk on his own.
He nods and plays with his food, and I know he wants to say something, so I put my chopsticks down and wait for him to find the right words. I’m used to waiting.
