“Wannie wake up!”

Wendy grumbles in reply.

“Wake up already!”

“I’m not attending class, Seul…”

“ARGHHH! You can’t keep missing classes!” Seulgi pushed her friend off the bed.

“OW!” Wendy soothes her back. “You didn’t have to push me off… that hurts.”

“Can’t have you drinking and sleeping forever! As your best friend that loves and cares for you—..”

“ENOUGH OF YOUR CHEESY SPEECH!” Wendy covers Seulgi’s mouth. “I’ve had too much of that from you last night…”

“Don’t blame me! You’re the one who was all “I don’t want to live anymore.. Nobody loves me crap”” Seulgi says getting up. “I was doing my job as your best friend!”

“Ugh… don’t remind me… I’m so stupid…”

“You are…”

“HEY!”

“What?? It’s true! Sooyoung was right, the only thing you did was drink.”

Wendy deflates and covers herself with the blanket. “…and now she’s gone…”

“Get up! DO YOU WANT ME TO DRAG YOU TO THE BATHROOM?!”

“WAAAH SEUL! STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!” Wendy scrambles to get to the bathroom.

Seulgi sighs.

(1 hr later)

Wendy slumps on the passenger seat, looking lifeless. 

“Put your seatbelt on, Wannie.”

“No.”

Seulgi put her seatbelt on. She starts the engine as she rolls her eyes.

“…Wan. Don’t make me strap you down.”

“I dare y—…” she saw her friend’s eyes burning. “Yea.. Yeah. Putting it on.”

CLICK!

“There… happy?” 

“C’mon, I’m just looking out for you…I care about you. Love you Wannie 🥹”

“Oh god please… stop saying that! I’ll puke I swear.”

“NOT IN MY CAR!!!!”

“Stop being all mushy and .”

“I’m not :)”

The drive was pretty quiet except for Seulgi’s cheerful humming. She taps the steering wheel completely off beat from the music playing in the car.

“What’s with you?”

“Huh? Nothing?”

“Why are you so…?”

“So.. What?”

“Sooooo… happy?”

“Am I not allowed to be happy??” 

“Not like that.. I dunno Seulgi. You’re acting different.”

Seulgi didn’t respond anymore and just continued driving. She knew what her friend was talking about but she didn’t want to talk about it knowing her friend is not feeling happy like she is. She smiles unconsciously.

She recalls Sooyoung’s words. Last night after all the words were thrown out into the open. She heard a statement that gave her clarity. Seulgi starts humming again.

(Café in the campus)

“I can’t mwait. Choo. Eatch..” Seulgi says as she sat down.

“You have a piece of sausage in your mouth… you’re already eating.”

“Mhm!”

Wendy sighs.

Just then 3 girls enter the café. They walk up to the cashier and order. They walked to an empty table near a window, a few tables away from Seulgi’s.

They put their things down and settle in.

“Hey Hyun-ah.. It’s Seulgi.”

Joohyun’s neck snaps to the direction her friend pointed at.

“…mhm.”

“Seul—..???! Ow…. Why’d you hit me??”

“Solar… don’t… leave them alone.”

“Why hit me??”

“Because you’re noisy!”

Wendy whose back was facing the 3 girls, starts moping.

“Food doesn’t taste good now that I’m single.”

Seulgi who now has waffles in looks up. “Maybe choo neeeds shalt!” She munches.

“Seul please talk after chewing.”

Joohyun was not facing Seulgi’s table but she would turn her head to try and get a glimpse of their table.

“Hyunnie… what are you doing?”

“N-nothing. Just waiting for my food.”

“Sure… so about the sake. I ordered more for tasting.”

Joohyun’s head keeps moving about. Turning left and right. Moving up and down.

WHACK!

“Ouchhh….” Joohyun rubs her forehead. “Jen—OW!! What the heck Solar??”

“You hit me earlier! Bleh!”

Jennie smirks. “You seem really interested in their conversation.” She points to Wendy and Seulgi.

“Oh look! Our food is here!!! Let’s eat!!!” She glares at her friends.

“Seulgi-ya… I don’t want to live anymore 😫”

“Wannie.. It’s okay..” Seulgi taps her friend’s head.

Wendy looks at her friend. “No.. Don’t you ing dare Seul…. I swear to god I’ll punch you!”

Seulgi bats her eyes annoyingly.

“Wannie. I love you 😙😗🤭”

“Hihihi I can’t believe Seulgi.” Jennie smirks.

“Leave them alone.” Joohyun says flatly.

“I just read Seulgi’s mouth..” the girl leans in.

Joohyun stabs her salad.

“Don’t you want to know what she said?”

“Jennie stop O_O”

“I was talking to Yongsun.”

Solar chuckles.

“Whatever..” Joohyun rolls her eyes.

“So Yong, she said “I love you” to Wendy.”

“SHE SAID WHAT?? AGAIN?!?!” Joohyun yells while pounding her fists on the table, making the plates jump a little.

Everyone in the café looked at their table.

Jennie and Solar start laughing.

“JUDON!!!!! :D” Seulgi waves happily from her table. “You’re also here!!!”

Joohyun shyly waves back.

Wendy stood up and waved at them then left.

“H-hey wait! I’m not done eating!!” Seulgi tells her friend.

Jennie whispers to Solar. “Her plate is empty though…” 

Seulgi was quick to follow Wendy out of the café.

“Bye..” Joohyun says with a sigh.

“Sooo….”

“What?” She raised a brow.

“You said “again”, what did you mean by that?”

Monday was spent to explain what had happened the night before.

(Next day)

Seulgi was in the library with Wendy. It just so happens that Jennie and Joohyun were also there to return a book the latter had borrowed.

“Ugh! I can’t believe we have a quiz… I don’t have any notes!”

“Sooyoung used to lend me her notes…”

Seulgi drops her head on the table.
