Winter's POV 

 

 

i was busy playing ng biglang mag ring ang phone ko agad kong ibinaba ang controller ng makita ko ang caller ID. 

 

 

"hi, adi." bati ko agad sa kanya. 
"hi puppy." 
"miss mo na ako? magkausap lang tayo kanina ah?" 
"silly. pero, oo. i miss you. busy ka ba ngayon?" 
"not really, naglalaro lang ako. bakit?" 
"kasi..my parents are here. kauuwi lang nila." 
"i-hi mo ako kay tito at tita." 
"you have to do it on your own." 
"ha?"
"free ka ba around 3 pm? kain daw tayong apat sa labas. ate jessica left this morning heading to cebu eh." 
"ate taeyeon din eh. pero oo free ako wala naman ako gagawin ng 3 pm." 
"so..you're fine with a late lunch..? or early dinner? i don't know whatever it is." 
"of course, g naman ako palagi basta para sayo." 
"heh. sige na, i love you." 
"mahal din kita." 

 

 

 

Napangiti ako I already met tito but it's gonna be the first time to meet tita so i'm kinda nervous and excited at the same time. 

 

 

 

Itinigil ko ang paglalaro ko at naghanap ng maisusuot kailangan maging presentable ako tingnan dahil ito na ang tinatawag na meet the parents dejoke. 

 

 

 

Napatingin ako sa picture na nakaipit sa isang damit ko. Ryujin gave this to me it was me and karina during the pageant dito pa lang we really look so cute together. I need a bigger copy of this so i can frame it and put it on my table. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2 PM pa lang pero umalis na ako sa bahay mas okay ng mauna kaysa naman ma-late kasi nakakahiya sa parents ni Karina. I called her and she provided me the name of the restaurant and meron na raw reservation under her name. It was just a 30-minutes drive from our place kung walang traffic well i really hope wala. 

 

 

I stopped at the traffic light. Ang boring so i decided na magpatugtog na lang muna, saktong best part yung tugtog napangiti naman ako ng maalala ko si Karina. Nakatingin lang ako sa kawalan habang iniisip siya. 

 

 

Hindi ko namalayan na green na pala at sunod sunod na ang pagbubusina nila sa akin. Agad kong pinatakbo ang sasakyan, itong mga to naman g na g kaagad edi sana nauna na sila. 

 

 

Pagdating ko sa restaurant ay agad akong ginuide nung staff sa table na naka reserve para sa amin. I was 15 minutes early, kinuha ko ang phone ko para maglaro muna just to kill the time. 

 

 

 

 

5 minutes before 3 ng dumating si Karina with her parents. Agad akong tumayo at binati sila. 

 

 

 

"good afternoon, tito. good afternoon, tita." bati ko sa kanila, nilapitan ako ni tita at niyakap ako tito did the same thing. 

 

 

 

"finally, karina talked a lot about you winter." sabi ni tita sa akin. la ano kaya mga sinabi ni karina sa mommy niya? 

 

 

 

"come on have a seat." umupo na kaming lahat. karina was seating beside me then sa opposite side her parents. 

 

 

 

while we are waiting for our food, tito asked me about my parents. "they must be very busy huh?" i just nodded. "pero kumusta naman sila?" he asked me again. 

 

 

 

"ayos naman po i talked to my mom recently they're in Europe right now, they celebrated their Christmas there po." 

 

 

 

"that was so fun for sure but you know i'm really glad you and your sister were able to celebrate with my children since hindi kami umabot dito noong 25." sabi naman ni tita. 

 

 

 

"kaya nga po we had fun and that's really one of the best christmas for me since i am with your daughter." napatingin ako kay karina, she was smiling. 

 

 

 

"I've known Kai for a long time but I must say Karina never smiled at him like that." tito tapped my hand. "you're a lucky one, winter." biro niya. 

 

 

 

"daaaad." karina whined. 

 

 

 

"what? i'm telling the truth. right sweetheart?" tanong niya kay tita. 

 

 

 

"he's telling the truth, karina has this shining aura whenever she's with you." tito tita kalma lang po i'm trying to chill pero pinapakilig niyo ko masyado. 

 

 

 

"really po?" i chuckled. dahan dahan kong hinawakan ang kamay ni karina na nasa lap niya.  

 

 

 

"kinikilig na masyado yan si winter, mommy and daddy tama na po." she pouted. 

 

 

"who wouldn't right tito? having karina seating next beside me pakiramdam ko sasabog na ang puso ko." biro ko, tito and I gave each other a high five ang cool din ng tatay ni karina eh lakas maka teenager. 

 

 

 

After 1234567 years dumating na ang pagkain namin. We talked a lot about karina, her childhood memories kulang na lang maglabas sila tito ng photo album niya. I really thought we're gonna talk like about business and such but this is more like knowing karina and her parents more they also asked about me and i comfortably shared myself to them. 

 

 

I want to gain their trust. I want to make them feel na aalagaan ko ang bunso nila, na karina will be safe with me. 

 

 

"please excuse me, mom and dad restroom lang ako." paalam ni karina. we just finished eating our food and we were talking about the trip they had sa Maldives. I badly want to go there, ate told me malapit na matapos yung hotel na pinapatayo doon i can go there daw after and i just can't wait to do it with karina of course and with the whole gang maybe. 

 

 

 

"winter." tawag sa akin ni tita pagkaalis ni karina. "po?" 

 

 

 

hinawakan niya ang kamay ko. "this is the first time that i met you but i can see kung gaano kasaya ang bunso ko sayo." she smiled at me. "i want the best for her and i don't wanna see her crying again, you know it pains me so much to see her suffering." tita was looking at me sincerely. "please take care of her, winter." 

 

 

"don't worry tita, i promise you. I'll take care of her." i assured her. i'm not gonna fail you and that's a promise. 

 

 

"winter, no pressure but..seems like I won with the daughter in law thing during the party at your company." biro ni tito. 

 

 

 

I remember he was also part of those people who asked me to get married to their son or daughter. I didn't mention it to Karina that night but tito was really pushing her to me since we looked cute together daw, may tama naman si tito don. 

 

 

 

"you did tito." we gave each other a high five again grabe para kaming magtropa lang. "but tito tita i'm really grateful sa inyo po for giving birth to this amazing woman na mahal na mahal ko." they were smiling at me like a proud parents. "ang cringey man po nito pakinggan pero tinamaan malala po talaga ako sa anak niyo and i'm not gonna waste this chance. i can never hurt your daughter, that's one thing for sure. i will love her with everything that i have." 

 

 

 

"thank you so much, winter. we really appreciate you a lot. i hope next time we can have a complete family dinner with your family." sabi ni tita. 

 

 

"i'm looking forward to it tita that must be great right?" 

 

"i'm back, what did i miss?" tanong ni karina sabay tingin sa aming tatlo. "nothing really, baby. we were just talking about random things." sabi ng dad niya. 

 

 

"then why are you smiling widely, kim minjeong?" pinanliitan niya ako ng mata. 

 

 

"what is it bad to smile hm?" depensa ko naman then we laughed together. 

 

 

 

 

 

Taeyeon's POV 

 

 

we had an assigned visit sa cebu today so maaga pa lang umalis na kami ng manila. same thing, i'm with jessica though hindi na kasing awkward compared nung unang flight namin. 

 

 

she was just reading the book i gave her the whole flight. we are on our way sa site right now, chineck ko yung bag ko kasi nagdadry yung lips ko then i saw the necklace she gave to me. napatingin ako sa kanya she was sitting sa shotgun seat katabi ng driver while i'm with yerim sa backseat. 

 

 

this necklace. 

 

 

was the first gift she gave me.

 

 

she bought this doon sa naglalako sa gilid ng univ. i thought nawala ko to turns out nahanap niya pala at binalik niya lang sa akin ngayon. 

 

 

 

this necklace was very special to me. 

 

 

 

because galing sa kanya and sobrang sincere lang nito para sa akin. 

 

 

"we are here don't forget to wear your safety helmets." agad na sabi ni jessica upon leaving the car, sumunod naman na kami ni yerim isinuot ko yung hard hat then we followed her. 

 

 

Chanyeol greeted us and he showed us around. There's a lot of trucks of course it's a construction site anyway,  there's a crane, loader, excavator and mixer ah basta marami pa. 

 

 

"by the way, architect shin had a little revision with the interior. did you see it already?" tanong ni chanyeol. 

 

 

"i did." napatingin si jessica sa akin. "bakit?" 

 

 

"have you seen it? the one i sent you last night?" tanong niya. 

 

 

"uhm..no..? i fell asleep last night." literally nakatulog ako sa may table ko pa. 

 

 

"I'll show it to her later but i think she'll agree. it was great though." sabi niya kay chanyeol then naglakad na ulit kami.
