Three days later

“I feel like something big will happen today” Seulgi said absentmindedly while munching on her toast.

“Jimin will perform a song in the parent teacher meeting today”

“Not that”

Sooyoung frowned “What's bigger than your daughter bravely singing in front of people?”

“Of course that’s a big thing too” Seulgi quickly soothed her wife then kissed Jimin's forehead “umma, will be sitting at the front, okay baby?”

Jimin giggled cheerfully giving her double thumbs up.

“I mean something else” the young mother said again

“Morning my favorite ahjummas!” Jennie glided in the room wearing her winter uniform

“Isn’t your skirt too short?”

Jennie didn’t pay any attention to her aunt’s nag “What are we having for today’s breakfast, unnie?”

“Just usual kimchi fried rice and toast if you feel like it” Sooyoung said while feeding Jimin

“Nice!” Jennie grabbed a piece of toast and spread too much peanut jam in it, putting a frown on Seulgi’s forehead. She was about to nag again but the sound of the door opening stilled her.

Joohyun came out from her room wearing her usual working clothes, white striped shirt and black slacks. One thing that was unusual was the blooming aura around her.

“Good morning everyone” she greeted her family before sitting down on her usual seat “Hi little one” she pecked Jimin's cheek affectionately.

Sooyoung and Seulgi looked at each other, another day of happy Joohyun since they were back from jeju but somehow these days felt a little special, like her happiness was doubled, tripled even.

“Did you get a raise, unnie?” Jennie couldn’t help but ask “Can I get new earrings?”

“No” Joohyun blinked “But sure I’ll give you money, just text me the price”

“Assa!” Jennie punched the air before giving a peck on her sister cheek “I love you, unnie”

“Does Jimin want something from aunt Joojoo?” Joohyun turned and cooed to jimin

“Ice cream”

The young doctor smiled “Okay ice cream, two scoops for my lovely niece”

“Did something nice happen at the hospital?” Seulgi too, couldn’t help but to speak on her curiosity.

“Just the usual. Why?” Joohyun too, spread a little too much peanut jam on her toast, just like her younger sister.

“You look exceptionally happy these days” Seulgi said, a little bit amused, she liked it when Joohyun was happy. She deserved happiness after everything that happened to her.

“Am I?” the young doctor shyly tucked a few strands of hair behind her ears before giggling to herself.

Jennie raised her brows, only a certain someone could make her sister like this.

“We won’t get any answer from her, unnier” Jennie told her aunt, and with a teasing smile she asked her sister “Did someone confess to you?”

Joohyun looked at her sister briefly, wondering why she was almost spot on? Well, a confession and something intimate for 3 nights in a row…

“Well…” Joohyun cleared , the tips of her ears reddened

“Good morning!” Seungwan’s loud voice distracted everyone

“Aunt wannie!” Jimin quickly climbed down from her seat and hugged the pianist who immediately crouched down welcoming her hug while balancing a paper bag in her hand.

She pecked her chubby cheeks before taking her hand and guiding her back to her seat.

“I bought smoothies for everyone” Seungwan announced as her stare lingered a bit longer to the young doctor, she winked subtly at her, making the latter blush and smiling down to herself.

“Cool. I’m kinda craving one these days” Jennie cheered happily “Hyun unnie which one do you prefer? The banana kiwi one or strawberry plum?” she added while rummaging the paper bag.

Hearing no answer from her sister, the young girl looked at her “Unnie?” only to find she was staring dazedly at someone, jennie followed her stare and found the object of her staring also staring back at her sister, lovingly.

“I think I know why unnie is so happy these days” Jennie picked the strawberry plum one since Joohyun always liked bananas.

“Why?” Seulgi asked before slurping her mango apple, her favorite.

“Joohyun unnie is dating someone”

Cough! Cough! A splutter of juice left Seulgi’s mouth

“W...what?” She instantly looked at Joohyun for confirmation “Hyun-ah, my Hyun, is that true? Who is this person?” she asked worriedly.

Joohyun was about to give a vague answer to her aunt because she hadn’t talked with Seungwan yet about revealing their relationship to her family. They just got official 3 days ago and Minjeong surgery preparation got them so busy, but Seungwan beat her by kneeling down on both of her knees in front of Seulgi’s chair

“I confessed to Joohyun three days ago and she said yes. I’m sorry, I should’ve told you sooner but there’s a lot of things I had to take care of before. I came here today with the intention to talk to you about this” she said before bowing down on the ground “Please let me date your joohyun”

Seulgi was speechless, she didn’t expect this.

Sooyoung and Jennie gasped in delight, both of them waited for an answer from seulgi while holding their breath. Joohyun was no better, she bit her lips out of nervousness. It wasn’t even a month after seunggi's final trial so her aunt was feeling extra cautious about Joohyun establishing a relationship with someone. But then Seungwan was no stranger to them.

“I…” Seulgi began to speak “I didn’t think that it would be this soon”

“Are you sure about it Joohyun-ah?” she turned and asked her nephew first

“Yes” her niece said confidently “I’m really sure this time, unnie”

“You’ve always liked her, don’t you??”

Joohyun nodded “Yes, I already liked her even before she went to Vienna but things happened and we only found each other again after 8 years. My feelings haven't changed, I want to be with her, unnie”

“Thank you for being honest with me” Seulgi said to her niece before looking at her friend who was still kneeling down “Until when are you gonna kneel down, Wan? You heard her”

“I know” Seungwan lifted her head “But I want to know what your thoughts are”

“I just want Joohyun to be happy and you do know that right, Wan? Since the first day I brought Joohyun and Jennie to your flat you know how big the responsibility that I willing to bear because I love them like my own daughters” Seulgi said while tearing a little “You and I, we’ve been friends for more than 10 years now, I know your personalities, the good and the bad by the back of my hand so I trust you won’t hurt her intentionally, I trust you can make her happier”

Seungwan listened attentively, nodding on every word her friend said because right now it was not seulgi her best friend that she talked with but seulgi, joohyun’s guardian and beloved aunt

“So lift up your head and hug me now because from now on we’re having a tighter bond than ever” Seulgi smiled “I give my blessing to you two, I am too never this sure with my decision for Joohyun”

The young doctor sobbed on the side upon hearing her aunt's words, Sooyoung and Jennie immediately hugged her, their eyes glistening upon witnessing something so beautiful.

Seungwan smiled back at seulgi before standing on her feet and hugged her friend tightly as she wished

“Thank you for believing in me. I promise I’ll be the best lover she ever had”

Seulgi laughed a little and patted her friend's shoulder “I know you will, Wan”

SNUH car park

Seungwan ordered a family car after that night with Joohyun. This early morning, she got a call that it was ready to pick up so she went to the shop to get her car first before going to the Kang family's house. Joohyun was her first passenger.

“It went better than I thought” Joohyun sighed to herself

“I know it would” Seungwan said with a smile “I got Seulgi hooked on me since I’m back from Vienna, maybe she viewed me as God now”

“Confident aren’t you?” Joohyun playfully shoved her arm

“No, I’m not. I was as nervous as you were. It's just a word from seulgi that can change my life for a better or worse”

“So which one is it?”

“Better. Definitely better” Seungwan caressed Joohyun’s cheek “I will be back around 2 PM today, there’s something I need to take care for Minjeong”
