**Before you start reading, please note that this story contains heavy themes, so read the tags carefully. Although the story is best read in its entirety, if you are a softie who still wants to read this fic then I suggest you skip the first three chapters. Also, I have never lived in South Korea so I apologise in advance if there are any cultural inaccuracies in regards to South Korea; I tried to make it as culturally accurate as possible.

Despite the MCD tag, believe it or not, this fic actually has a happy ending (if you want to interpret it as one), so I hope it's worth all the angst throughout the story lol 😅
