I first met you 12 years ago but 7 years of that was the span our relationship.

I still can’t believe we’ve been together for 7 years now. Sometimes it feels too long after thinking about everything that we’ve been through, but most of the time it also feels like it’s too short. 

Like how those years just passed us by so quickly.

Like now, as we’re currently here in the rooftop of our apartment welcoming our 7th year as a couple.

We were both sitting side by side in one of the benches with my arm wrapped around you. We both had work today and you had to work overtime, but I understand that. 

Since it would be the weekend already, you suggested that we welcome it together.

No fancy dinner, no fireworks, just us— and that’s more than enough for me.

I looked right next to me and saw that you were already looking back. 

We were the only ones here since it was already late and the whole place was peacefully quiet, just us and the sound of the bustling city below.

Looking at you now, you’re so different from the 19 year old girl I met back then ‘cause you’ve become even more beautiful as we aged. 

Our staring contest got cut off when my watched beeped signaling that it was already midnight.

You took my face in your hands and I instantly leaned into them before you kissed me gently.

“Happy 7th anniversary.”
