Minji’s POV

I looked at the to-go food I got on my way to the condo before getting inside the elevator. An old man went in before the door could even close. 

“Ms. Minji right?” I looked at the old man next to me inside the elevator. I looked at his face carefully and noticed that he looks familiar.

“I’m sorry?” He looked at me with an expressionless stare. 

“I’m Yoohyeon’s Dad” I widened my eyes before bowing at him. 

“Annyeonghaseyo..” I greeted respectfully.

“Can we talk privately?” He asked firmly. I hesitated before nodding.

We went to the rooftop of Yoohyeon’s condo. I clutched the plastic bag I’m holding while looking at the back view of Yoohyeon’s Dad. What is he doing here.. Is he here to ruin us again?!

“Mr. Kim.. I..” He turned around facing me with tears in his eyes. I widened my eyes in shocked before looking down.

“You.. you look just like her..” I narrowed my eyes before looking up at him confused.

“I’m sorry for taking Yoohyeon away from you.. We.. love each other” I apologized.

“I’m.. I’m not mad anymore. I want my girls back. I.. I can’t stand being apart from them anymore” I looked at him hesitantly.

“But I can’t tell them. I’ve caused them so much pain that I’m afraid they won’t take me anymore. Help.. help me, Ms. Minji” He begged with his head hung low. I knitted my eyebrows before walking up to him.

“H-have you talk to Yoohyeon yet..?” I asked. He shook his head.

“No, I know she’s up there but I couldn’t bring myself to go up there. I’m guilty. I’m guilty of the things I did..” I sighed.

“If you really want to reconnect with them you’ll have to swallow your pride and apologize. I watched Yoohyeon cried in front of me helplessly while telling me about you. She.. she deserves an honest and sincere apology, Mr. Kim” I said firmly. He looked up at me.

“H-how do I do that?” I sighed. 

“Follow me. I was about to go up there and eat this with her” I said before walking out of the rooftop. I heard him following me from behind.

The curiosity got the best of me and asked him a few question.

“Before I let you meet her, are you sure you’re not here to ruin us? And to take her away from me?” I asked firmly. He shook his head.

“I’m here because I’m genuinely afraid of losing them and would want them back in my life.. with you of course being with Yoohyeon” I looked at him seriously before nodding.

“You said I looked exactly as her.. what do you mean by that??” He looked away.

“Their Mom. You looked slightly alike” I narrowed my eyes before nodding. 

I turned around facing the door to Yoohyeon’s unit before sliding the card key. I saw Mr. Kim stepped away of the view. I slowly opened the door to check if she’s at the living room and indeed she is.
