Chapter 9
They Woke Up MarriedThe land down under
Sydney, Australia
Hello, hello there Australia!
Ji Hyo is so glad to be back in Sydney. Whenever she is in Australia, she feels free and happy. She had a chance to stay there before when she was young. She spent months in Brisbane before, but she loves Sydney too. She was never fond of pubs and fancy dining (which the city is famous for) but it’s light and vibrancy have always amused her. And now she’s back and she’s thrilled.
Well, maybe not so much. Ji Hyo is having mixed emotions. She’s happy that she is in Sydney. Last night, her parents called her through videocall, and they talked things out. They are in good terms now. Finally, they’ve come to realize it was not Ji Hyo’s fault and she was telling them the truth all this time. Her family doesn’t even know how to apologize to her at first; they were embarrassed to do so. They have hurt her so much. But it’s all in the past now.
But why is she having mixed emotions now? Isn’t she supposed to feel happy now that everything is okay? Everything is back to normal with her family and she and Dong Wook are regularly seeing each other. She and Jong Kook are somehow friends (they are not enemies so maybe we can call them ‘friends’).
But the mix is kind of weird.
She goes on dates with her ex-boyfriend and just friends with her husband.
Ji Hyo is staying in Sydney with Dong Wook and Kimmy (another lady friend living in Sydney) and of course, with her husband in tow, the handsome and hot Kim Jong Kook. On the first day of her vacation, Ji Hyo is in dilemma whether to go out with Dong Wook and Kimmy who both wanted to go for a drive near the famous Opera House or stay with Jong Kook who wanted to just eat in a nearby area and explore the hotel’s gym facilities (ah, typical Jong Kook).
Jong Kook asked Ji Hyo if she wanted to go with him but of course, the answer is obvious. Though Jong Kook made sure he appeared really handsome (but pitiful) when he told her, “It’s my first time in Sydney. What if I get lost? What if i decided to go out to see Kangaroos and Koalas and get lost on the way back?”
How can Ji Hyo say no to him so handsome like that?
“I promised Dong Wook oppa and Kimmy…” Ji Hyo asserted.
“Okay.” He pouted like a kid, “I’ll just walk around the hotel by myself.”
Mr. Kim Jong Kook decided he’ll explore the Crown Hotel (the hotel they’re staying at) alone. Mrs. Kim Jong Kook’s about to go out with the cute Lee Dong Wook and their friend Kimmy to hit the Circular Quay where the Sydney Opera House is located. It could’ve been an amicable decision; no hard feelings… except that Jong Kook’s phone rang.
His ringtone: Hot Issue by 4 Minute
Ji Hyo’s eyes widened. Jong Kook winked at her. The bastard has prepared for the situation like this very well. Is he mocking her for not being a good dancer and her love for the ‘hot issue’ song? Jong Kook even danced a bit (doing the ‘hot issue’ dance steps) when he is walking away, leaving Ji Hyo gaping in disbelief.
Meoli bootuh balggeut ggaji hot issue
Nae modeun gut hana hana hot issue
Modooda take control
Nan hangsang hot it hot it hot it hot it i-i-i-i-i-i issue…
He didn’t answer his phone and let the 4 Minute’s music playing. Ah, that handsome idiot. Ji Hyo just smiled later on and shook her head.
Kimmy teased Dong Wook and Ji Hyo.
They were in a wedding Chapel in the Circular Quay. After a tiring day of hopping from one establishment to another (they basically acted as tourists and just took pictures), they went inside a wedding chapel.
There are many wedding chapels in Sydney, there are even drive-thru ones and the city is quite famous for it’s wedding venues.
“Do you take Song Ji Hyo as your wedded wife?” Kimmy asked; she was officiating the pretend wedding between the two.
“My last name is KIM…” Ji Hyo corrected her friend. Is it a slip of the tongue?
.
She is committing adultery like that, with her play-wedding with Dong Wook. And it’s as if force of habit, she corrected Kimmy when she called her Song Ji Hyo.
