It was now lunchtime and both Kai and Sehun had just arrived at the cafeteria. They were trying to find an empty spot when they saw Baekhyun waving at them from one of the tables. Sehun was not Kai’s only friend. They both knew some seniors and occasionally hung out with them. Baekhyun was in his final year so he as well as other senior students had many more self-study periods with loads of homework. That was why Kai and Sehun rarely saw them. They almost reached Baekhyun’s table when Sehun suddenly gasped.
“Oh shoot, I forgot to bring the stack of our class’s homework to the teacher’s room for Mrs Kim before lunch. I’ll be right back.” Sehun told Kai.
As he was about to turn, Kai stopped him. “Oh wait! Do you want anything? I'll go get something for both of us.”
“Oh, get me a sandwich and a cup of chocolate bubble tea.” Sehun said hurriedly.
“Sure, I will get it for you. Just come back here when you’re done.”
“Sure. See ya.” Sehun ran to the cafeteria’s door.
“Don’t run!!!” Kai yelled after Sehun, but he was already gone. Kai mumbled something about not wanting to see a fainted Sehun dragged to the nurse again.
Kai flopped down at the table after running across the street to get the bubble tea. It was still March but it was already scorching hot outside. He wiped the sweat rolling on his forehead while fanning himself. He took off his gray uniform jacket when he felt his shirt sticking to his body.
“Gosh, it’s like a hundred degrees outside.” Kai grumbled.
Baekhyun lifted his eyebrows. “Why did you have to go outside? We have bubble tea in the cafeteria.”
“Oh yeah, but Sehun doesn't like those.” Kai shrugged.
Baekhyun rolled his eyes at that. “Stupid lovestruck boy.”
Kai glared at him. “Don’t say that, Sehun might come back anytime.”
Baekhyun snickered. “Even if I said you love him, he wouldn’t know a thing. That boy was clueless as !”
Kai wanted to hit Baekhyun but he was right. Sehun would have no idea.
