Call It What You Want

Description

What happens when you fall in love with someone you're not supposed to?

Ever since Anderson 'Jackass' Park framed him for something he didn't do years ago, Jung Wooyoung has been hell-bent on proving a point that crossing him would be Anderson's worst decision. Sharing his lawyer big sister Minyoung's spunky grit and his own fiery personality, it's a recipe for chaos. But when Minyoung decides to chase her political dreams and a seat at the National Assembly, meaning forming an alliance with Mayor of Incheon Rachel Park and unfortunately—Anderson's mom.

Wooyoung wants his sister to succeed, even if that means forcing a fake friendship with Anderson online.

Texting memes at ungodly hours of the night and oddly-timed conversations with Andy that turn personal eventually make Wooyoung forget that he's talking to his self-proclaimed enemy. It's fine still, it doesn't actually mean anything to him. Like at all.

Until—of course—when he accidentally finds out Andy used to have a crush on him.

He convinces himself that it's a thing of the past and they're both way too old for prepubescent crushes, at least he tries to. In reality he's spinning, confused with his own feelings and what he had believed himself to be all this time, or whether Andy no longer feels the same way about it. Or still feels the same way? It's confusing.

His choices could potentially jeopardize his sister's political career, and Wooyoung is left at crossroads on what to do; He no longer knows what to call his relationship with Andy, or whether this relationship could stay the same even if time goes by. It raises the question: Can falling in love be a mistake even when the heart tells you otherwise?

Even if the world was ending and the odds are against you—is it truly a mistake when the heart keeps saying it's not?

Foreword

Foreword by me

I know Pride Month ended a while ago, but this was written during that time in celebration of it. The purpose of this story is in no intention, a way to reflect any of the ATEEZ members in real life and is purely a work of fiction, inspired by other forms of fiction as well. I would also like to make it clear that this story talks about the relationship between an ATEEZ member as a fictional character in the story and an orginal character and NOT between another member, as hyperualising the relationship between the boys' actual friendship is not something I support, neither do I want anyone in the fandom doing so.

With that being said, I really hope you, dear reader, enjoy this story as much as I enjoyed spending my time writing it.  It will be updated twice a week, and maybe a bonus chapter once in a while so stay tuned. I really appreciate reading your comments, so do share your thoughts!

Inspired by books that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

  • Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
  • Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of The Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
  • Simon and The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
  • SKAM (it's a TV series that I also highly recommend)
