send help!
Unstoppable (really?)
"77 to dispatch, be advised, the fire is under control."
"Copy that 77, time, 22:40."
"77 to dispatch, do you copy, over."
"77 go ahead, this is dispatch over."
"Roger that, over and out."
Click.
“That was a close one.” Joy murmured before putting back the radio in her pocket.
All the while, Seulgi has her hands on the steering wheel and began to drive the car out of the area, continuing their night patrol.
"What’s that?”
Joy tucked the errant strand of hair behind her ear, before leaning forward to the windows and squinted her eyes to get a better view.
"Vandalism."
"That mural was nice. Pretty, even."
"Still vandalism, though."
Seulgi parked the car and they surveyed the area but there wasn’t much to see. The only thing the vandal left behind was a couple of empty spray paint cans and a dirty towel covered in paint.
Seulgi stuffed her hands in her pockets and surveyed the area once again. It wasn’t much of an investigation, but then, they weren’t much of an investigator themselves. They gave the wall all kinds of suspicious looks and nodded sagely a few times – typical investigation stuff.
When suddenly the radio ring. With the right hand, Joy pulled it out from her pocket and answered.
“Engine 683 to 77.”
“77, go ahead.”
“We, uh, have a bit of a situation here?” Jackson said unsure.
"What kind of situation?"
“Um….negative?...kind of.”
Seulgi and Joy stared at each other in bewilderment.
"Yes, I just... I got a call from a little girl who said that her Mama was dead, killed by Mommy and she asked to send the police soon," Jackson said with a hint of hesitation in his tone.
"The call was from Rhu."
"Rhu?" Surprise was visible through Joy's tone, "Rhu as in Irene unnie and Wendy unnie's daughter?"
"Yes, Rhu," Jackson repeated. "She said 'send help! Mama is dead, kill by Mommy'."
Joy was speechless.
"I thought it would be best to send someone who knows them, because I don't think Rhu is..."
"No, no, you're right. I'll be heading there immediately." There was a certain tone of urgency in her voice. Joy turned off the radio and they got back into the car swiftly.
It only takes 3 minutes to arrive since the house was just two blocks away from their patrol area.
Joy rang the bell and they waited anxiously for 2 minutes until the door opened, and a tired-looking Wendy appeared in the door.
She was in her pajamas with a very messy hair.
And she seemed taken back by their visit.
"Joy? Seulgi? what's going on?"
Ignoring her question, Joy walked pass her, observing the room with a gun in hand.
"We got a call from your house," Seulgi explained, concern was shown on her face.
"A call?" Wendy stared at her with knitted brows.
"Yes, the call we got was from..."
"Polish! I called chu!" a voice of a little girl suddenly interrupted the conversation, showing out just her
