Foreword

Han Seojun — that famous idol, the one with the beautiful, soft and calming voice — had fallen in love before. Years ago, actually, he reminisced about his first ever love.

Lim Jugyung.

The one that changed it all for him, the one that couldn't be. His heart had aches in the beginning, when Suho came back from Japan, when she left Seojun for him — for the second time.

It had killed him inside, he wasn't going to lie — the tears and sobs that had racked through his body that night, sitting alone, crouched down at the stairwells all alone — no one to comfort him, no one to ease his pain — was enough of evidence of how much he had fallen for her.

He had fallen hard and reality slapped across his cheek even harder.

It took a long time to pull himself back together inside — on the outside, he was as laid back and playful as ever. Now that he thought about it, it was foolish of him to hold it all inside himself, to bottle it all in.

He should have talked about it with someone, maybe Suho would have listened to him. What's done was done, however.

Now, he had a life full of people who loved him, loved his music — the only true love that had stayed with him for all these years — and they filled almost all of his time. Being busy was beginning to get tiring.

Everywhere he went, he was swarmed by people that wouldn't let him rest. He wanted to be free like he was in his teen years again, was that too much to ask?

Sighing, he entered a small, quaint little flower shop, wishing to buy the roses he wanted to for his mother for Mother's Day, coincidentally the day he had gotten a day off, to his amusement.

He pulled the thick, black mask over his face even higher than before and pulled down the cap to cover his eyes, hiding their unique shape from onlookers.

The shop smelt lovely, colourful flowers and plants of all kinds lined the floor and window sills, the space looking as spacious as a botanical garden, almost. Seo-jun looked around in wonder, seemingly in a whole new world compared to the bright and flashy lights, the constant grey of cables and stages he was used to now.

Everything looked enchanting.

You saw him enter from the corner of your eyes while helping an old lady choose the perfect flowers for her apartment, showing her the most suitable ones according to the amount of sunlight they would need.

He looked a bit out of place in the colourful space, opting to wear all black save for the cap on his head pulled almost all the way down. You couldn't help but smile to yourself at the way he seemed to take in the scenery, looking everywhere around him — with amazement, you thought.

"May I help you?" you approached him after a while of him searching through the potted greeneries. He stiffened up, placing the small cactus back in its place, turning around to face you.

"I was looking for flowers." you giggled at that, of course he was looking for flowers, it was a flower shop after all.

"For my mom, I mean. It's for the Mother's Day?" You nodded and gestured for him to follow you, leading him to the place where you arranged the bouquets.

"I think I know what you mean. The day lily is a Chinese symbol for motherhood,"— you show him the small flower near the side of the wooden table, picking it up to add it to the collection. — "and yellow roses are believed to represent a caring nature."

He nodded at that, relieved to have some help in picking out the separate pieces. He pointed at a bunch of tulips off to the side, "what do those mean?"

"Well, the yellow tulip symbolizes “there’s sunshine in your smile”."

You ask if he wants to add them to the bouquet, too. He eagerly agrees and soon enough, he had a thick bouquet of flowers, wrapped prettily in an assortment of laces and strings by your hand.

"Thank you so much!" He relishes in the bright smile on your face. "No problem, anytime." He pays the total sum, pricy but worthy of the amount.

Seojun turns to look at you one more time before exiting the pretty store, "I'm sure that she will like it!" You add, waving at him and his eyes curls into cute half moons.

It seemed familiar somehow, but it didn't matter at that time.

Seojun came back to the store the next week and the week after that and the one after that, so on and so forth and soon enough, flowers wouldn't be the only reason he would visit the local flower shop anymore.
