aunt seulgi's lost love
Harsh March“Can you tell me about your first love, Aunt Seulgi?”
My niece asked me.
I was taken aback at the random request, since when did she have interest in other people’s love stories?
“please?”
And there she goes, pleading with her puppy eyes that looked like mine. Monolid cat-like eyes
She’s pretty cute for a 15-year-old teenager, or I’m just being biased because she’s my relative.
Knowing how stubborn this little one is, I gave in.
“What do you want to know?” I asked.
“everything!”
I chuckled at how excited she sounded.
“sometimes I hate that you look like my brother”
Mina giggled “But you and Dad resemble each other! So if you call him ugly, then you’re ugly too”
And sometimes I hate that she’s too straightforward too.
“Now come on, back with your story!” she demanded,
geez what’s with teenagers and their thin patience.
“just to give you a heads up, I like girls” I started and she seems unbothered
“and so?” she raised an eyebrow.
“You don’t find me weird?” I asked scared that she might feel awkward about it
“Aunt Seulgi, you can like boys or girls or even both. There’s nothing wrong with that.
I’m old enough to know that love has no gender.
And people should be able to love without the fear of being judged”
I was amazed at how mature she handled it, kudos to her parents for raising her well.
I patted the top of her head and smiled at her “You’re making me sentimental with how much you’ve grown. You grew up well”
“Well, my mom said I’m pretty smart for my age, so” she said in full cockiness
Tss what a smug
My phone rang and when I checked who it is, I found my brother’s name as the caller ID.
“Hey” I answered.
“Can you drive Mina home? It’s getting late and she still have school tomorrow” my brother said on the other line.
“oh yeah, sorry I lost track of time. I’m dropping her off now.” I ended the call and turned to the girl beside me.
“Come on, your dad is looking for you already. We’ll hang out some
