Ilang araw bago humarap si Seulgi sa Senate hearing, pinuntahan siya ng governor nila and they had a private meeting. 

"Seulgi, alam kong hindi ako nagsalita ng nangyari ang katiwalian na ito," simula niya. "Pero hindi ibig sabihin nun hahayaan kong mabusalan kayo." 

Nag-provide ng proteksyon ang governor for her and Yeri. 

"It will be a tough battle. Lahat sa pagkatao ninyo gagamitin nila to try and assassinate your character. There will be a deluge of fake news against you to discredit you. But don't waver or vacillate Seulgi." 

"Kaya niyo 'to. Nasa inyo ang suporta ng tao." 

On Irene's end, masinsinan siyang kinausap ng superior niya. 

"We will place you under the witness protection program. You and your mom will live with me. Mas safe kung nasa poder ko kayo at may nagbabantay sa atin." 

Irene was honestly surprised. "Akala ko po nung una, ayaw ninyo rin ito maimbestigahan dahil kaklase ninyo ang presidente sa law school. And Sen. Aguinaldo is one of the president's allies." 

"Sinabi ko sa 'yo na no one will dare investigate this because ganyan ang laro ng pulitika. That doesn't mean I don't want it to be investigated." 

"And while it is true na kaklase ko ang presidente sa law school and he appointed me to this position, hindi ibig sabihin nun hawak niya ko sa leeg." 

Irene suddenly felt a much-needed jolt of strength.

"You know how I got this position?," patuloy ng boss niya. 

"Nung LGU official pa lang ang presidente, I was an auditor and my report uncovered millions of money lost in a moribund government housing project. Kalaban niya sa pulitika ang isa sa involved. So nung nanalo siya sa eleksyon,  nilagay niya ko dito. But I've reiterated to him na hindi ko ginawa yung audit report ko for him. He told me - maybe then, but one day, in the future, you will." 

Her boss then gave a stony glare. 

"He called me the other day. Sabi niya - balita ko haharap isang tao mo sa Senate investigation a. Maniningil na ko ng utang na loob. It's time. Tell her to change her tune." 

Galit ang mga mata ni Irene. "Ano pong sabi ninyo?" 

" 'Inamo. Then I put the phone down." 

Pareho silang napatawa. 

"Irene. Meron at merong matino tao sa gobyerno. Rare pokemon tayo but we exist." 

"At hindi tayo aatras sa laban na 'to."
