Napablikwas si Seulgi sa kinahihigaan niya. She woke up in cold sweat. She felt that something's amiss. 

She reached for her phone - there was a barrage of missed calls and text messages from Joy and Wendy. 

Natakot si Seulgi sa nabasa niya. ", , ," she muttered as she dialled Joy's number. 

"Joy! Anong nangyari kay Irene? How is she?" sunod-sunod niyang tanong. 

"Someone fired gunshots at her car. Pero hindi siya pinatamaan. She's left unscathed. As if --" 

"--- as if someone just wants to send her a message. A threat," Seulgi realized. 

Napasapo siya sa kamay niya. Irene, Irene, . She felt tears roll down her cheeks. 

"Seulgi," napapaiyak na rin si Joy. "Irene's superior told her before the incident na kahit gaano pa ka-solid ang report nila, no one will dare use their findings to investigate Sen. Aguinaldo." 

"Irene was aghast," narinig ni Seulgi boses ni Wendy. 

"Tinanong niya bakit walang mag-ini-initiate ng investigation. Is Sen. Aguinaldo above the law?" 

"She found her answer when Sen. Aguinaldo declared his intention to run for president," Joy said, fury evident in her voice. 

"Walang gustong kumastigo sa isang taong tatakbo for president and can even be president someday," Seulgi said, gritting her teeth.
