*flashback*

It was the night after the two tribe leaders came to an agreement of reuniting the two lands.

Jisoo felt a mix of emotions inside her.

She is happy that the war has ended but at the same time, she feels sad that she has to get married in a hurry like this..

Only two days and she will be a married woman..

She couldn’t help but sigh as she stared at the dark sky..

Is it also sad just like her? 

It looks like it might rain.. she can’t even see a single star..

Another sigh left .

What will happen to her now? No.. what will happen to that man she has come to like?

She was supposed to meet with him again tonight..

They had agreed to see each other again when the new moon appears..

But she can’t go to the forest anymore.. she has been told by her father to just remain inside the tribe for her safety and also in preparation for her upcoming marriage.

She was trying hard to sleep.. she was keeping her eyes closed but there is no way she could just sleep peacefully without seeing him again..

She should at least tell him that she’s getting married in two days, right? 

And what if he’s there? What if he ends up waiting until the next day?

She immediately put on some thicker clothes and secretly took one horse with her..

She’ll get in a big trouble if her father knows about this!

But when she arrived at their meeting place, no one was there..

Did she really travel all the way here for nothing? She disobeyed her own father for this but she found herself standing by that tree alone..

She waited for a little more.. and some more.. 

But still, he didn’t come..

“He won’t come at this point, will he?” said Jisoo to herself as she took a final glance of her surroundings before getting on the horse again.

And just some moments after she got on the horse to go back to her tribe, she heard the sound of someone falling into the water..

She stopped the horse immediately.

She wasn’t sure at the start.. at this time of night, it could be a wild animal.. or an enemy..

She was taught to run away if any of those situations were to happen..

But she stubbornly followed the sound..

A river.. there is a river nearby..

But it was dark and cloudy that night.. she could barely see anything..

She didn’t hear any movement again..

Could she have been mistaken? Maybe it was just an animal who was passing by?

She was about to leave when the dark clouds disappeared and the moonlight shone over the river.

Her hands covered right away..

She couldn’t scream loud..

It was the most shocking thing she has ever seen.. no.. it was terrifying..

She felt a throbbing pain in her chest as she saw the man she has been waiting for..

He was in the river.. floating like a dead body..

She immediately ran into the water and saved him..

She doesn’t know how long he has been there..

Did he try to kill himself? Or did someone try to kill him?

“W-what happened?” Jisoo was scared to see his head bleeding.

Did someone hit his head and threw him in the river? Why.. why has this occurred to him?

Her tears started falling.

No.. she has to stay calm in order to save him..

She checked his pulse.

There was no sign of life..

Her tears were still falling one by one on his body.

She immediately started giving him chest compressions.

It took a few moments until she saw he spat water from his mouth.

She heaved a sigh of relief.

“Wake up..” she said softly as she shook his body.

Then she saw him wincing in pain.

It must be because of the wound on his head.. it must be painful..

She tore a piece of cloth from her skirt and put it on his wound..

What can she do now? 

Oh wait.. some herbs! She has some herbs with her!

She used them to treat his wound.

“It’ll be fine.. hang in there..” she whispered to him as she caressed his face.

Jisoo was crying as she stared at his painful state..

What could have happened to him? 

Was he on his way to meet her? Was he running away from someone?

It was a wise decision for her to find him that night..

He would have drowned in the river if she hadn’t come..

She looked up in the sky as she wiped her tears away.

“Please.. I want him to-..”

She stopped as she saw a shooting star..

“Let him live..”

It was fast.. maybe even faster than what she had thought..

But she was able to make a wish.. 

It was the first time she ever saw a shooting star.. she didn’t even believe they existed for real.. she only heard about them through Yeri..

But she made a wish for him..

A wish for him to live..

She looked at his face again and noticed it has become more relaxed..

She felt relieved..

But it didn’t last long..

She heard a couple of people approaching..

She didn’t know what to do at first.. if she stays there, news will spread throughout the whole Amaya that the daughter of the Northern tribe secretly ran away and met with a man..

But that wasn’t the worst scenario.. she might be accused of harming this man..

She had no choice but to run away..

She held the man’s hands before kissing them..

“Please live.. so we can meet again.. I beg you..”

*end of flashback*

V had swollen eyes the next morning.

He was only able to sleep a few hours.

He was busy making assumptions and theories all night.

He hasn’t found a single hint to why he is here in Amaya.. he doesn’t know who is an enemy or a friend..

Even Jisoo is suspiscious now to him..

That’s right.. what she said last night in the forest seems fishy..

He got up from bed with a headache..

He wants to start solving the problem but his head keeps spinning everytime he thinks about it..

He went out of the tent stretching his back..

He looked around him trying to find Jisoo..

Oh wait.. is he really looking for her? Why? It must have become a habit..

She’d usually be outside the tent with her strangely cooked meal but this morning, she wasn’t there..

He continued stretching his arms and legs..

He needs to stay fit at least while he’s here..

Or maybe he doesn’t need to.. this isn’t his real body anyway..

He was thinking about all these useless thoughs inside his head when he saw Yeri and Junkyu passing by while carrying a big cauldron.

“Hyung!” Junkyu put the cauldron down and ran to him right away.

V stepped backward.

What’s with him this early? Junkyu is always sticking with him and he really hates clingy people.. 

“That girl is always bossing me around.. hyung tell her something please..” said Junkyu whispering to him.

Yeri kicked the cauldron lightly making noise.

“Aren’t you going to help me?” she asked slightly irritated.

Jisoo asked her for a favor to bring her a big cauldron.

“Unnie is waiting for this..” 

V turned to Yeri.

“Jisoo?” he asked curiously.

Yeri nodded.

“Jisoo unnie is preparing to cook for the feast tonight..”

“Feast? What kind of feast?” asked V.

Junkyu smiled nervously.

He didn’t know his master’s memory loss would make him also forget the biggest celebration in Amaya.

“Today is the Thanksgiving day hyung..” he whispered to V. “To Amaya..”

V’s mouth fell open. 

Ohh.. he knew nothing about this.. is this why Jisoo brought him to that tree yesterday?

“Your father and your brothers are also coming tonight..” Junkyu added.

V’s eyes sharpened.

Maybe this is his chance to have a talk with Taehyung’s brothers..

“How about you come back here to help me?” asked Yeri loudly. “We need to-..”

Then Jisoo came running.

“What’s taking you long to-..?”

Her eyes went to Taehyung immediately.

“You’re up..” she said smiling. “I should have brought your food..”

Then she looked at the cauldron that was on the ground.

“I’m sorry.. I didn’t know it was this big.. I should have asked a man to help you..” 

“Unnie.. don’t worry.. that guy will help me..” Yeri answered pointing at Junkyu who was still stuck beside Taehyung.

“I’ll just help you..” said Jisoo as she held it with two hands.

Yeri’s eyes widened.

“No unnie.. your father will kill me if he sees you-..”

She was about to take it away from Jisoo but V stepped up instead lifting it together with Jisoo.

“I’ll help you..” he said looking at Jisoo whose cheeks turned red as soon as she felt his hands touched hers.

“Lead the way..” said V.

Jisoo nodded shyly.

V has been watching Jisoo cook since this morning.

Will she ever finish? The sun is about to go down..

And she’s still cutting the vegetables in her very but very slow pace..

It is more frustrating to watch her..

He can’t continue seeing this!

“Let me do it..” he said sighing.

He couldn’t sit still anymore. 

He thought women from the past would be more knowledgable when it comes to cooking but he was wrong..

Jisoo might be the worst he has ever seen so far..

Even Irene is far better than her..

Irene can at least cook kimchi fried rice perfectly..

But this woman here can’t even cut a potato well..

V took the knife away from her.

“I’ll cut this so just sit and watch me..”

Jisoo pouted her lips.

“But.. it isn’t a man’s task to do the cooking and-..”

“No one is here other than us.. no one will know I did the cooking..” said V as he started to cut all the ingredients.

Jisoo was amazed by him.

How did he learn that? Do they teach men how to cook in the South? Why is he so good at this?

“Keep your mouth closed.. I’m afraid you’ll start drooling..” said V smiling seeing her reaction.

Jisoo covered right away.

“If I didn’t become an actor, I would be a chef by now..” said V confidently. “My food is to die for.. I was asked a lot to appear in cooking shows-..”
