Not my first piece but definitely the first WenRene story i have

 

It's converted from my other fic actually and i adjusted to fit WenRene (wish it won't be awkward)

 

Wendy and Irene are in same age in this AU

Wendy shoved the scattered papers into her bag, in a panicky way

 

It was 10.10 (obviously overslept) and her exam about to start in 20 minutes

 

"Sh*t" she muttered under her breath before grabbing her favourite converse

 

It took her 15 minutes to get to the campus, another 5 miutes to find her classroom

 

So if God have a mercy, she'll get in time

Or maybe not

 

Just her luck, Prof. Park had already seated on his throne

 

He was throwing daggers at her but still kind enough to let her in

 

She muttered a small sorry before dragging her tired feet (obviously from running) to the only available set at the front

 

Sighing heavily, she put her glasses on, weirdly, not really eager to welcome the exam

 

"You allright, baby ?" a sweet whisper greeted her

 

She turned her head to the 2nd row on the left

 

A tired smile was forming on her lips as she mouthed "I'm fine, Joohyun"

After 2 hours of woking her brain, finally her exam was done

 

She thought maybe she'll be get an B if she's lucky enough

 

Taking her bag she went to Prof. Park with papers on hand

 

"You are my favourite Wendy, but try to get on time for next class" he said

 

"Yes, Sir" Wendy frowned before excusing herself

 

She was leaning on the wall when a hand touched her shoulder

 

"Hi"

 

Still frowning, Wendy titled her head "Hi, Love" she gave a quick peck on the taller girl's cheek

 

"What's with the frown ?"

 

" I guess i just messed up my exam" 

 

Wendy always put her study first so it's not a shock if she often feels horrible about doing it bad

 

"It just one exam Wannie, you still have a whole semester to make it up" the taller girl tried not to roll her eyes, usually she finds it adorable that Wendy is so serious with her study but most of the time it annoys her, especially when her lover would put her study first over her girlfriend

 

Wendy wanted to argue but she kinda had no energy left since she was up all night marking papers. She's one of Prof. Park's assistant so it'll definitely affect her if she messed up her exam even for once. Talking about assistant pride.

 

So she settle with a small "Yeah" 

 

"Ok stop mopping, let's go to Cafetaria. I'm famished"

 

They're walking hand in hand, causing pair of eyes looking at them

 

The idea of Bae Irene, one of the college's sweetheart dating a common person still shocking them

 

Its not like Wendy was bad, she got the brain plus (Irene thinks) she's adorable (in all her nerdy glories) but Irene and Wendy were just like polar opposite

 

Irene loves to party, going out and socialize with people while Wendy spent her time mostly for studying, assisting, doing projects and sleeping

 

But you know love is love, thus Irene and Wendy happened.

 

"Wannie, you'll come with me to Jennie's party tonight, right?" Irene asked as she moved to link her arms with Wendy, her heels were clinking against the floor as they're walking

 

"Umm, about that..." 

 

"You're not going to cancel it again, right?" Irene stopped on her track

 

Wendy had promised Irene to join her because she was busy for the last weekend and the weekend before and another weekend before, she even cut down her Wednesday date with Irene since last month to finish her project. 

 

Wendy had a guilty frown, she knew that the girl missed her, well she did too 

 

"I'm so sorry Hyun, it's been really hectic and I still have 2 projects to finish by this weekend. I don't think I can come tonight since we'll have group meeting at 7:00 PM "

 

Irene released her arm and Wendy instantly felt cold.

 

"It's always been your project, studies or papers" Irene crossed her hands, she had a displeased look on her face "Do you even have time for me anymore, Son Seungwan?"

 

Wendy knew she successfully pissed off her girlfriend when the girl called her by full name not the usual pet name

 

"Hyun, I really want to go with you but I can't this time, maybe..."

 

"No" Irene cut her words "I've got enough with all your promises, You barely have time for us, Wendy! Is it because that Japanese girl? Am I not good enough for you?"

 

Insecurities and Jealousy.

 

Wendy was all too familiar yet confused as why she had to be insecure or jealous over someone ? Its been the topic since 2 weeks ago when Irene not so secretly checking her phone and find Sakura flirtatious message. Well, Sakura loves to make flirty jokes and everybody knows not to take her jokes seriously but apparently Irene didn't know the other girl that well hence jealousy ensue. 

 

"Baby, we're so over this. Sakura is just a groupmate, I have nothing with her"

 

"Oh really? So that's why you're seeing her tonight rather that going out with me?" Irene scowled

 

"I'm not seeing her personally, we have group meeting alright. It's really important, I can't mess with this one"

 

"Of course, everything is important for you except our relationship"

 

"Our relationship is important for me too" Wendy said firmly, no doubt, she loves Irene so much

 

"Then come with me, just this one Party I'm asking you then you're free doing whatever you want over the weekend!" Irene said frustratingly

 

"I really can't ditch this one, we're on a tight deadline"

 

"But I miss spending time with you!" 

 

Wendy groaned "Why don't you just come with me to the meeting then? "

 

"Yeah and have you ignoring me all night there?"

 

"I never ignore you"

 

"Really? Last time when I accompanied you to one of your meeting, you were completely ignored me" Irene was fumed

 

Wendy shut , because she could be really focused when doing her work, she barely had time to entertain Irene

 

"Just this one time I swear, I can't fu*king ditch them right now, I need to be responsible as the group leader. If it's not an emergency I won't hold a meeting tonight" 

 

Irene closed her eyes trying calm her nerves since they already caused a scene on the hall by their small banter

 

"So you chose to ditch me then? FINE" Irene spat, her eyes were glassy as she turned around, leaving Wendy alone 

 

"Joohyun!" Wendy shouted

 

She was about to ran to her when she got a call from Prof. Hae, she had a meeting with her which is she kinda forgot and running late for 15 minutes now

 

"Oh sh*t"

 

Not again.

Her mood wasn't really good tonight

 

She was distracted most of the time

 

Apparently, she's feeling guilty since Irene didn't bother to pick up her call or replied to any of her messages

 

"Gurl, something is bothering you?"asked one of her groupmate/close friend of Wendy

 

Wendy sighed and motioned the girl to follow her

 

She told her about the banter she had with Irene

 

"If I was her, I would be mad too" said Yeri

 

"I just want to get a perfect score from this project. Do you think I'm being unfair to her ?"

 

Yeri *sighs* "The thing is, your girlfriend just wanted some of your time and you denied her again. Honestly speaking, you kinda throw your personal life for these projects. When was the last time you two had a proper date?" 

 

Wendy bit her lips "a month and a half ago...I think, wait so this month is November? What date is today?"

 

"11th"

 

"Oh crap, today is our 2nd anniversary" Wendy eyes went wide as Yeri slapped her own forehead 

 

"Wendy, you do understand that your girlfriend is the sweetest for putting up with you this long, right?"

 

"I...I think I need to go"

 

"Glad that you're back to your senses. I'll supervise here so go Tiger, get your girl"

 

"Thanks Yeri!"

Wendy glanced at her watch, 10.15 PM and Irene still ignoring her

 

She was sitting on a cab, on her way to the royal club where the party was being held

 

Wendy didn't have time to change her attire so she just applied a lip tint that she borrowed from Yeri.

 

She would be underdressed but who cares.

 

The cab stopped right infront of the club, it was so flashy, she didn't like parties even more when it's in a club.

 

But she would come anytime for Irene.

 

Once inside, she tried to locate Irene over the swarm of people, it wasn't helping that the music was too loud and the place were as dark as Lord Voldemort's future

 

She knows Irene would be drunk by this time

 

Fortunately, Wendy spotted Jennie Kim, Irene's bestfriend

 

She made a way to her

 

"Hi, Jennie"

 

A bit tipsy Jennie looked at her "Well, if its not Wendy Shooon, Irene's lovely girlfriend. Heard you've got an important date with another chick, huh?"

 

Wendy grimaced, Irene must had told her about their banter

 

"Its not a date, I was on a meeting. Anyway, where's Irene?"

 

Jennie shrugged

 

"Maybe dancing with your potential replacement, you know she's a hottie pattotie and you're a d*ck"

 

"Thanks Jennie, that's really helpful"

 

She wandered her eyes until she caught a sight of familiar black hair on the dance floor

 

Apparently Jennie wasn't kidding that she's dancing with...someone.

 

From Wendy's view the dance was too intimate for her liking.

 

But it's not the time to be blindly jealous.

 

Strutting to the dance floor, Wendy tapped the guy's shoulder lightly.

 

"Excuse me"

 

"who the are you?" the guy stopped dancing, so was Irene who looked pissed and confused upon seeing her girlfriend at the club

 

"what are you doing here?" Irene asked

 

"One question at a time, please" Wendy raised her voice, seriously what's wrong with the sound system ?

 

"Listen, i'm her girlfriend and i'm taking her back"

 

The guy looked at Irene, asking for a confirmation

 

"Just ignore her" Irene put her hands back on the guy's chest, wanting to dance again

 

"Okay that's it" Wendy took Irene's hand and drag her out of him

 

The guy had-what-the--face with him and swearing at Wendy

 

But who cares...
