Tao walks around and exits the counter, walking Yifan through the display of confectionaries that the café also sells. They were so pretty—colorful macarons, delicious croissants, and rainbow cakes.

Yifan wouldn’t know though, he’s too busy gawking at Tao who’s suddenly standing so close to him.

Tao bends down a little, gesturing at a cupcake. “Oh! I think you’d like this. It’s really nice and sweet,” he says, fixated on the desserts in front of him.

It’s not as sweet as you, Yifan almost blurts out, but saves himself from the embarrassment.
