yongsun checked her phone for the fifth time in fifteen minutes and every time she loses a little more hope when nothing came up. 

checking her phone one last time, she sighed and raised her hand, signalling for the waitress. 

a woman behind the counter who looked about her age nodded her head, letting her know that she’ll be with her in a minute. yongsun smiled gently, nodding her head as well. 

exactly one minute later, the same woman walked up to yongsun’s table and slid a plate of food towards the brunette.

“egg’s benedict and a hot latte for you.” she smiled. 

yongsun read her name tag that read byulyi.

“thanks, uh, byulyi. but i didn’t order this yet.”

“i know it's your favorite. it’s on the house.” byulyi grinned and pushed the plate nearer to yongsun. 

confused and still upset, yongsun frowned. “i—i don’t understand.”

“look, how many times have your girlfriend stood you up this month? i’m not suggesting anything, but you should take care of yourself more.” 

yongsun scoffed, “i’m sorry, who are you again?” 

“i’m just saying. today, you have the saddest eyes i’ve seen in my entire life. and i’d really like to see what’s beneath all those sadness. because i know they can really shine. i’ve seen it. but i want to be the reason those eyes sparkle. so give me a chance. i’m not
