Chapter 3
It has to be youRosé POV
Oh my God. This is happening. She’s about to meet Wendy and now that it finally sinked in, she wasn’t sure if she made the right decision.
“Calm down, Rosé. Talking to people is in your nature. There’s nothing to worry about. She’s just another human being just like you. She may be perfect and out of your league but still.” Rosé silently talking to herself.
She is now walking to go to their school gym where she told Wendy to meet her. Then she saw Wendy sitting on a chair with airpods on her both ears and focused on her phone. This is like déjà vu when she first saw Wendy on their class. She silently admired the girl until she decided to approach her.
“Ahem.” She cleared to catch Wendy’s attention. Wendy slowly looked up to her and suddenly stood up after seeing her.
“No. It’s okay. You can sit. I’ll sit with you” She said calmly which is surprising considering how fast her heart is beating right now.
“Uhm. Hi.” Wendy said to her.
“Hi” She greeted back. There was a deafening silence after that and the room is filled with awkwardness from both of them.
“Ah. Uhm. You.. uhm.. You said you wanted to talk to me?” Wendy finally finished her sentence.
She’s not really sure why Wendy is stuttering but she finds it really adorable.
“Yeah. I did. I’m just wondering if you can be my friend. I really like you.” . What did she just say?
“Uhm. Yeah. I mean you know. Friend. As a friend. I meant, I like you to be my friend.” Now it’s her turn to blabber. Really, Rosé? She silently scolded herself.
“Why? I mean. You already have a lot of friends.” Wendy asked curiously
“I told you, I like to be your friend. I can’t really explain it you know.” She was kind of caught off guard with the question but she thinks she answered perfectly.
There was another awkward silence but this time, it took longer that she actually thought she’ll hear crickets.
Wow. So, this is what rejection feels like. Rosé thought.
“It’s okay. If you are not comfortable with me yet, I understand.” She said breaking the silence.
“I respect your choice. You don’t have to-“
“I like that” Wendy said interrupting her.
“Hmm? I’m sorry?” she asked.
“I like to be friends with you too.” Wendy said with a shy smile on her face.
Wendy’s POV (The day after)
Wendy just arrived at the front of their school when she saw Rosé standing outside the gate waiting for someone. Should I wait for her to go inside? Should I hide? She’s still thinking what she wants to do when Rosé called her.
“Wendy!” Rose shouted waiving at her.
It took her a few seconds to collect herself and walk towards Rosé.
“Hi.” she greeted Rosé
“Hi Wendy. I
