Eclipse (The Sequel)"Do you really have to leave?"
Sojung sat on the edge of her and Eunha's shared bed, watching her girlfriend pack clothes in a white luggage. Eunha kept her gaze low and away from Sojung's. She was never the best liar, especially towards her girlfriend, but if she wanted to leave without worrying her, then she had no other choice.
“It’s only for a few days, babe.”
“If that’s the case, then why can’t I come?” Sojung hated sounding so clingy, but she hated being apart from her girlfriend more.
Eunha sighed, her hands zipping her small suitcase closed. “It’ll be a good way for me to clear my head and escape my thoughts for a while... As much as I love being with you, I need time to myself too, so taking a trip to my family’s farm in Jeju will help.”
Frowning, Sojung looked down. She was sad, yes, but she knew her girlfriend needed this more than anything.
“Alright,” Sojung murmured. “Just... Call me everyday, okay?”
“Of course,” Eunha smiled, holding her girlfriend’s chin to give her a tender kiss.
Sojung’s eyes showed slight worry, her hand trailing over Eunha’s arm that cupped her chin. “You are coming back, right..?”
Eunha’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Did you think I wouldn’t?”
The taller shook her head quickly, a nervous smile appearing soon after. “It’s just the first time in two years that we won’t be in the same city. It just scares me.”
“I’m coming back,” Eunha reassured the other. “I promise.”
“You seem to be in a rush to leave.” Yerin’s eyes followed Yuna as she fast walked around her room to gather her things. “They really want you flying to Japan this fast?”
“Yeah,” Yuna lied. “It’s urgent. The producers we’re working with have been there since last night and we weren’t aware so now we’re rushing.”
Yerin’s lips pursed out of curiosity. Yuna wasn’t one to rush, so seeing her so panicked and hurried was a different sight. She wasn’t sure if she was supposed to be worried or not.
“Yuna—“
“, I’m about to miss my flight.”
“Yuna.”
“I really have to go,” Yuna spoke in a more scared tone, stuffing her clothes in her backpack and luggage.
Yerin sighed, her head shaking slowly before suddenly grasping the singer’s forearm, lightly placing a kiss to her cheek. “Calm down. You’re okay. If you’re late, then you’re late, but you have about two hours, so you shouldn't be freaking out.”
The singer inhaled deeply to calm herself down. In reality, she was nervous to see Yewon. She wasn’t sure how to act. Was she going to release the pent up anger and frustration she felt after being ghosted or did Yewon have a reason for her actions?
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Yerin smiled, kissing Yuna’s cheek once more. “Your manager will be here soon. I’ll go ahead and get going. Text me as soon as you land.”
“I will,” Yuna embraced Yerin in a tight hug, her body finally relaxing as her anxiety gradually eased down. “Drive safe.”
“Alright everyone. Let’s take a break.” Eunbi shut her camera off, the stylists immediately helping the model out of her third costume.
“Eunbi, come take a look.”
“They turn out good?” Eunbi turned to face her assistant director — Dahyun — to look at the pictures she captured.
“Better then good,” Dahyun whistled. “People are going to be obsessing with this look for a very long time. The beige and the white compliment the simplicity so well.”
“You think so?” Eunbi squeezed Dahyun’s shoulder. “They look really good. The product placement is slick too.”
“Eunbi!”
The photographer turned around at the sound of a woman’s voice. Jinnie stood beside the entrance of the studio, causing Eunbi to smile even wider.
“Hey,” the photographer hugged her visitor in a tight embrace. “What are you doing here?”
Jinnie followed Eunbi into her office, a white bag in her hand. “I decided to surprise you with lunch. I know you tend to skip it since you can get busy, but I was off today, so I wanted to make sure you ate.”
Eunbi pulled a seat out for the other before sitting down as well. “That’s so sweet, Jinnie. What did you get?”
Jinnie began fishing out the sandwiches and an iced americano. “Sojung told me this was your favorite lunch so I, of course, had to get you some.”
Eunbi held the drink and sandwich in her hand, her gaze trailing off for a moment.
“Good afternoon, Miss Hwang. They had your favorite sandwich so I got it fresh for you.”
Jinnie stared in worry as she watched the photographer grow silent, the lunch firm in her hold. “Do you not like it..?” she whispered. “Here. You can have mine. I don’t drink coffee so I got a lemonade, but we can switch.”
Eunbi looked up quickly, finally regaining her thoughts and smiled. “Sorry, I just got dizzy for a second, but thank you. This is my favorite drink and my favorite sandwich. I haven’t had any of these in a while, so.”
Biting her lower lip, Eunbi kept her gaze locked on the items in her hands. She wanted to take a sip of her drink, a bite of her sandwich, anything to show Jinnie that she was thankful, but her mind was in the past. How can Yewon make eating a simple lunch so hard even when she wasn’t even there?
“Don’t be shy,” Jinnie laughed. She reached over to unwrap the toasted sandwich, holding it to Eunbi’s lips to eat. “Eat it. I know you skipped breakfast.”
Eunbi rolled her eyes, soon parting her lips to take a bite of the sandwich. She forced herself to swallow the food. It was delicious, but she felt like she was swallowing shards of glass. Slowly, she was getting frustrated. She moved on from Yewon and Jinnie was in front of her, but why was she on her mind instead?
Sojung tapped her pen against the conference table, Yerin seated just beside her. She wasn’t sure if it was the absence of Eunha’s presence that made her fidgety or the fact that Eunha hasn’t responded to any of her texts and calls.
“Keep tapping your pen like that and you’ll end up breaking it.” Yerin chuckled, not bothering to look up from her paperwork. She was too busy dealing with inventory to yell at her best friend. “What’s wrong with you? Why are you fidgeting so much? And where’s Eunha?”
Sojung bit her thumb, her eyes focused on nothing Yerin's moving pen. “She’s not here. She went to spend time with her family. It was so sudden. She just told me this morning.”
Yerin’s eyebrows furrowed in amusement. “Weird, it’s the same with Yuna. She texted me this morning saying she wanted to see me before heading to Japan. She seemed to be in a rush.”
Turning her head, Sojung stared at Yerin with a more intense gaze. “What?”
“What?” Yerin shrugged. “I just said it’s weird that they both left this morning.”
“Exactly,” Sojung whispered. “You don't think they le
