Jack and Coke
Eclipse (The Sequel)"So," Chaerin started, pouring a good amount of whiskey in her glass before splashing in a hint of Coke. "I talked to Yewon."
Seohyun sat up from her seat, thanking her best friend as she was handed the same beverage. The two agreed to meet at Chaerin's studio, wanting to hear her new songs and give advice if there was any needed. It was safe to say the songs all sounded great. Some weren't Seohyun's taste Too... Aggressive to say the least, but if it made her best friend happy, then she felt the same. "What happened?"
Chaerin chuckled at Seohyun's enthusiasm. Anyone could tell Seohyun loved Yewon to death. "I didn't know what I was expecting to be honest, but relationship problems definitely wasn't on the list. I didn't even know she dated someone." The producer took a sip of her drink, verifying she liked the mixture. A second later, her head whipped to look at her best friend. "Did you?"
"Mm..." Seohyun exhaled. "Yes and no?"
"Huh?"
"They dated for a while, but they had a lot of ongoing issues with a third party."
"Don't tell me someone cheated on Yewon."
"No," Seohyun laughed at Chaerin's sudden change in tone. "Oh they'd be dead by now, but the third party was nothing like that. I don't want to speak on behalf on Yewon, but she loved her ex a lot. She probably still does. I just..." She sighed. "I just don't want her to get hurt again.
Chaerin looked down at her drink, swirling to watch the ball of ice touch every drop of liquid. "I'm saying this as a friend, okay? I know you love your sister, you've proved it so many times, but the problem is you see her as some sort of 5 year old, Seo." She pressed her lips together, reapplying lipstick to her lower lip. "Maybe the reason she chose to open up to Hayi and I is because we actually listen, not just play the big sister role."
The taller covered her face with her palms, feeling how warm her skin has gotten. Seohyun was tipsy, but she was still aware of what her best friend was telling her. "Everyone's been telling me that lately, but I can't forgive myself if something happens to—"
"Nope," Chaerin rose her hand so that Seohyun could stop talking. "You're inserting yourself in the situation. This is going to sound harsh, but how you feel isn't important. It's not your problem, not mine, not Hayi's, not anyone's except for Yewon." She took her best friend's hand to stop her from covering her face, revealing eyes full of tears. "I know you mean well, Seo, but Yewon understands that if she decides to take the chance again and gets hurt, it's on her. Our job is to be there when it happens so the pain subsides faster. It makes sense, right?"
Seohyun sniffled, gently nodding her head. "Yeah..."
