Donghae and Heechul were studying for their midterm exam when Hyukjae walked in through the front door that afternoon, shivering and complaining about the cold air of the new season. 

"Ugh! Why is it so cold outside?"

Heechul and Donghae both looked up just as he was taking his shoes off by the door, one hand against the wall and still grumbling annoyingly under his breath. Heechul scoffed at his overreaction while Donghae couldn't help but giggle silently seeing the annoyed pout on Hyukjae's face.

"Aish, you brat. Can't you see we're studying here?" Heechul scolded. "Just go make your hot chocolate in the kitchen and be quiet."

Hyukjae ignored Heechul's nagging as his eyes were now wide from shock and embarrassment seeing Donghae in their living room, smiling widely at him. "Donghae-ssi! You're here!" He called out with his cheeks blushing a good shade of pink now that he was suddenly in the presence of his longtime crush.

"Yes, hello." Donghae greeted formally but the way Hyukjae blushed in front of him didn't go amiss. "I hope it's okay I intrude into your home tonight."

"No, no! Of course not! You're not intruding!" Hyukjae followed that up with a nervous laughter before (attempting to) discreetly glare at Heechul for not giving him a heads up about their surprise guest. "Heechul hyung must have forgotten to tell us you were coming tonight."

"No, I didn't, you brat." Heechul smirked and looked at him with that look that showed he obviously did it on purpose because he knew Hyukjae would somehow do something to embarass himself. 

Hyukjae pursed his lips together and grimaced trying his best to behave and not reach forward to hit his very annoying brother. 

"I'm gonna get changed." Hyukjae mumbled as an excuse and adjusted his hold on his back pack while giving Donghae a shy side way smile. He scooted his way to his room sideways while holding an awkward eye contact with Donghae. The latter was the first one to break it by looking back down on his book and resuming hos note taking. Hyukjae was thankful and took the chance to harshly punish Heechul by messing with his hair and pushing his head down before running away at record speed. Heechul yelped with annoyance while Donghae looked up briefly in shock before bursting out with laughter.

"Yah!" Heechul yelled annoyed as he tried to fix his hair that Hyukjae just ruined. "It's not funny!"

"It's a little funny," Donghae countered as he tried and failed miserably to contain the laughter that escaped his body. 

Heechul glared at Donghae and used his foot to kick the side of his thighs before adjusting his seat on the floor. "You're supposed to be my bestfriend."

"I am your best friend."

Heechul tsked annoyingly and fixed the book he was holding earlier on his lap. "I know you only come here to ogle my brother, you jerk."

Donghae's eyes widened a little at Heechul's accusation then looked back down on his own textbook to hide the blush he felt spreading across his cheeks. "W-What? N-No, I don't!"

Heechul rolled his eyes at Donghae and didn't bother to defend himself. "You're a different major than me, . You can't even help me study for my midterm test on Human Anatomy."

Donghae chortled at Heechul's complains and simply leaned his back against the armchair behind him. "I thought you wanted my company?"

"I want to pass my test!" Heechul retorted before he grabbed and threw one of his scattered highlighters at Donghae then rolling his eyes to the back of his head when the other easily caught it with his hand and laughed. "You're a pain in my too!"

"What?" Donghae's eyes were wide in mock offense as he pretended to be hurt by Heechul's words. "I've been your best friend since high school. How can you say that to me?"

"Because it's the truth." Heechul spat at him and saw Hyukjae coming out of his room behind Donghae. He smirked and very casually changed the subject by randomly bringing up the Hyukjae's morning routine. "You should come here in the morning when he still has dry saliva stuck to the side of his face and hair sticking out all over the place. Let's see how attractive you find him then."

Donghae was a little confused why Heechul would suddenly change the subject on him but then he saw a pillow fly straight for his face and when he heard Hyukjae's loud voice, all his questions were answered. 

"Aish! Yah!" Heechul yelled and grabbed the same pillow that hit him and threw it just as hard at Hyukjae. "Go back to your room! We're studying!"

"I hope you fail your stupid test!" Hyukjae screamed at Heechul just to get back at him but when he heard Donghae laugh, he looked down at him compeletely horrified at his own childish action. Feeling like he'd just totally embarrased himself in front of the other, Hyukjae glared at Heechul one last time and stuck his tongue out at him before turning around to run and hide in his room. Heechul just cursed under his breath before he grabbed another pillow from the couch and threw it at the still laughing Donghae. 

"Ow." Donghae said even though he wasn't really hurt. He was still grinning from ear to ear with his shoulders shaking trying to stop himself from laughing any further. "What did I do?"

Heechul rolled his eyes at him and plopped himself down on the couch. "You like that stupid brat, that's what."

Donghae chortled, not really seeing how that was a reason for the other to hit him with their couch pillow. "Would you be weirded out if I asked Hyukjae out?"

"What?" Heechul asked a little thrown by Donghae's sudden inquiry. "Are you serious?"

Donghae just laughed and threw the pillow back to Heechul. He shook his head side to side but and just looked back down on his textbook without saying another word. 

"Yah! Answer me." Heechul demanded but Donghae's only response to him was an innocent smile on his face before he placed his earphones in his ears and shifted his attention back to the book that he was reading. Heechul's brows were furrowed together while he stared at his friend in disbelief. How was he supposed to concentrate on studying now when all he wanted to know was whether or not Donghae was serious about Hyukjae!? 

"Aish," Heechul cursed under his breath and just let the matter drop for now. He was sure he would get another chance to ask him about it again the next time he catches him looking at his brother like a love sick idiot.
