This is the first report on “Lucid Dreams and Alternative Lives Research” written by Kim Namjoon, PhD, from the Psychology and Psychoanalysis Department of Seoul National University of Science and Technology. 

A set of interviews with different doctors and specialists in the subject was done for the purpose of keeping a record of patients who have affirmed they were involved with an oneiric realm. 

The interviews were done with the previous consent of doctors under the condition to remain the patients’ information anonymous. Discretion is advised. 

11 June 2015.  Interview with Jung Eunbi, Psy.D., a four-year-experienced specialist on psychoanalysis.

An analysis of one of her patients’ cases, registered in the file as SinB for confidentiality reasons, is included. This study is titled “A Case of Lucid Dreams and Symbolism in Daily Live.” Dr. Jung Eubi affirms that SinB’s dreams represent unaccomplished and frustrated desires in the patient’s reality.  

On the night of 23 July from last year, SinB experienced the first dream at 3:00 AM approximately. A woman, who the patient claims to not know, appeared during REM sleep.  

The interview has been recorded with the precise details of the oneiric condition. The following is a transcript of the expert’s account: 

─My patient is an unconfident person who has a full-time job in an office. Of course, this job does not satisfy her. Additionally, she is involved with a relationship that has become dull. 

Do you consider that essential to the dream’s symbolism? 

- Every interaction with reality affects directly to the subconsciousness, even if she claims to be happy in her relationship. Otherwise, she would not constantly dream about that woman. When someone dreams on somebody else apart from the actual partner, it is possible that their relationship is not working or does not satisfy.
