The letter told Taeyeon of her parent's disappearance, but it was also filled with Mrs. Im's heartfelt apologies.

...by the time your uncle handed you to us, you were already an orphan. Your dad had passed away a while ago and your mother was killed just a day before you came to us . We lied to you in order to hide your identity and we thought we could make you forget if we told you that your parents just ran away. All we wanted for you was a fresh start...

Taeyeon read through the letter anxiously, and by the end of it, tears were threatening to stream down her face. Taeyeon took a deep breath. "I guess that's not possible anymore, huh? They were dead all along..."

After trying very hard to hold back the unnecessary emotions, Taeyeon was finally able to drift away to sleep. She thought about why she was curious about her parents despite the fact that she had never met them, not that she could remember anyway. Although, she felt slightly emotional at the sudden revelation of her birth parents' fate, she apologized to whomever may be listening that she did not know them well enough to seek revenge. Her goal was to live happily, that's all she ever wanted, but she promised that she will find the truth behind who they were and at least thank them for bringing her to this world.

Morning arrived sooner due to her deep sleep as a result of her tiredness. She rubbed her eyes to see an empty room and a clock saying that it's 9am. 
 

She sighed and grimaced at what happened last night.

"I am going to be happy." She smiled, at the same time cringing at her own antics. , I'm going insane.

I am not insane. I know what I want. Do I? Why don't I feel any sadness about what happened last night. Am I heartless?
 

Taeyeon suddenly felt a strange feeling of relief. Maybe some of the answers she got also brought her some relief. At least she does not have to keep guessing anymore. But she remembered that her uncle wanted her to go to America for school. He had already sent her the plane tickets and forms to fill for her new school a month ago. She was already thinking of a way to ditch the ordeal...but what about after that? She has nowhere to go. If she went and find Yoona, she surely would be found out.
