Taeyeon fidgets her finger on the table. Without any reason, she feels so nervous when Jessica asked her to meet since the latter has something to talk about. They made a plan to meet at 7PM, but Taeyeon already arrived at 6.30 PM. Now she’s so damn nervous, and 30 minutes feel like forever

“You are here,” Jessica’s voice jolted Taeyeon. She’s coming straightly from her workplace. Taeyeon never thought that Jessica would be this attractive with her white blazer and grey shirt. Oh, not to mention her chestnut hair, which Taeyeon swears the smell is so damn good. She could feel it when Jessica passed her to get her own seat

“Taeyeon?”

“Oh, sorry,” Taeyeon shuffled on her seat, enough for gawking at her wife, “Did you decide about your order?”

“Yeah,” Jessica nodded, “Do you want to eat their brisket meat? I heard you like something like that.”

“Sure, go ahead. Vanilla latte for the drink,”

“Not the wine?” Jessica chuckled

“I’m a lightweight, I’m afraid if I knock down before finishing the meal,” said Taeyeon

“Well,” Jessica shook her head and called the waitress. She ordered all of the foods included for Taeyeon

“Then, what do you want to ask?” Taeyeon started the conversation after the waitress placed her latte

“I met Yoona today,” Jessica sipped her wine, “She told me about her special mission.”

“Okay, she reported to me too.”

“Are you sure?”

“What makes you not sure?” Taeyeon asked back, smiling because Jessica puffed her cheeks while thinking. It’s cute anyway

“Your peculiar behavior,” Jessica swirls her glass, “You seemed to ignore me in the previous years, why now?”

“Because you never gave me a chance,” Taeyeon sighed, “Sica, I’m so sorry about my ty behaviors toward you. The reason why I dragged you from my mom was purely instinct. I just want to make you safe.”

“We will face your mother.”

“We could make it together,” said Taeyeon straightly, “The reason why I sent Yoona to Blanc & Eclare because I need a person whom I trust inside. Heechul Oppa and Jisoo helped me to make it true. We also had Hyoyeon, who joined the bodyguard team, and Sehun with Luhan, who always protect me.”

“May I know who are the guys?”

“You know Heechul Oppa and Jisoo, my step-siblings. Hyoyeon is part of Kim’s bodyguard, but since the start, she’s close to me. Luhan and Sehun were enrolled by Dad for my personal bodyguard. Yoona knows Hyoyeon, so when she recruited Kim Holding as an employee, Hyoyeon gave her the words. She decided to follow Hyoyeon’s way.”

“Are you sure that they would be safe?”

“Not really,” Taeyeon put her fork. She wiped the stain on the corner of her lips, “We never sure about the risk, but we need to try.”

“Why did you do this, for me, Taeyeon?”

Taeyeon looks straightly at Jessica’s eyes, “Because I want to protect you.”

After they finished the dinner, Jessica insisted on paying for their meals though they walked back to their own cars.

“Where are you going after this?” Taeyeon asked when Jessica unlocked her car

“Going home? Obviously. You?”

“Ah, Yuri texted me before to join her to the club.”

Jessica checked her watch, “It’s late already, and if I’m not mistaken, you went to the club the past two days.”

“Ah, yeah,” Taeyeon scrubbed her nape; why did she feel so nervous around Jessica?

“You just hospitalized last month. You need to rest,” said Jessica while opening the door, “See you later.”

“I’m not going to the club,” said Taeyeon immediately, “I will text Yuri.”

Jessica shrugs her shoulders and drives away. At first, Jessica also questioned herself why did she care about Taeyeon’s late activity. Jessica peeked her rearview and saw Taeyeon’s car behind her; the latter was really listening to her words before

Is it really the sign for starting to opening her heart to Taeyeon?

Jessica and Taeyeon entered the house at the same time; Taeyeon even being gallant to hold the door to let Jessica came inside

“Thank you,” Jessica muttered, which received a smile from the older woman

What they didn’t expect is Krystal and Jaehyun still awake, and they are watching TV together

“Oh, you guys are together?” Jaehyun asked while munching the orange slice

“We were just having dinner,” Jessica replied almost immediately and walked faster upstairs, leaving Krystal and Jaehyun smirked to their eldest sibling

“Have a good rest,” said Taeyeon when Jessica arrived at her door

“Why did you go home? I thought you will go to the club.”

“Ah, I need to rest,” Taeyeon scrubbed her nape, “Besides, you warned me before.”

“Taeyeon, I…”

“That’s fine,” Taeyeon grinned, “I like it.”

“Huh? Don’t be mistaken, I just… concerned.”

“I know,” Taeyeon’s grin is growing wider, “I’ll take a rest. You go inside.”

Jessica nodded. She opened the door, and when she was about to close the door, Taeyeon was still standing at the same place, looking at Jessica with her smile. Jessica closes her door. Her feeling is mixed; maybe Tiffany is right. She only needs to giving Taeyeon a slight chance, so perhaps she could help her

Yeah, Jessica would think that Taeyeon would only help her to escape from her mother in law’s pawn. Still, Jessica never thought that maybe there’s another effect of that. Especially when you denial about your own heart.

“Yo, you missed the fun!” Yuri grunted when she saw Taeyeon entered the office

“Let me tell you a more interesting story,” Taeyeon sprawls her arm over Yuri’s shoulde
