A Diplomatic Marriage
Description
Hyukjae was married by proxy to Donghae, the nineteen year old Prince of Wales at sixteen.
Foreword
Don't expect too much. But do expect irregular updates. You can let me know if you think I'm taking a tad to long to update. Hopefully this will be the first story I actually finish. This is just for fun. This may be historically and culturally inaccurate so I apologise for any mishaps.
I have also changed some definitions of words such as queen or mother to make it more applicable to male omegas. We are also using the titles and places of the British Royal Family. So basically this is the House of (for example) York but abo.
New and other terminology
Queen Consort = The spouse of the king. The first nor second gender affect this.
King Consort = The spouse of the queen. The first nor second gender affect this.
Queen = The spouse of a king consort who has rights to the throne. The first nor second gender affect this.
King = The spouse of a queen consort who has rights to the throne. The first nor second gender affect this.
Mother = The beta or omega who is/was pregnant with the offspring.
Bender = Another name for betas who choose their titles due to the fact that beta does not fit in alpha nor omega.
Bigender = The betas who choose their title opposite to their first gender. Example, a female beta choosing to be Prince Royal. This usually is chosen by their parents as this can make it easier to marry of their children. Most parents choose Prince over Princess as the former has more power in court but some parents are more lenient with their children and allow them to choose.
Princess Royal = Oldest omega (or beta in some cases) of the monarch
Prince of Wales = Oldest alpha (or beta in most cases) of the monarch.
Crown Princess = omega/beta to become Queen.
Crown Prince = alpha/beta to become King/Queen.
Courtship = A courtship is the agreement of one marrying another, whether it's consensual or not. A diplomatic marrige is best example.
The Line of Succession =
In constitutional monarchies the title/position usually went to the eldest son, unless he was dead. They would be followed by his brothers in their birth order. If he was to have any children (legitimate children), they would become second in line to the throne and so on. If he was to have a elder daughter and then a son, the son would be king before his sister queen. If the crown princess was to have no brothers then she had the right to the throne. This is an ABO fic, which means we bring in secondary genders, too. If the king, for example, had an beta daughter, an alpha daughter, omega son and then a beta son, the line of succession would look like this:
Current monarch - alpha daughter - beta son - beta daughter - omega son
In my story, you ignore the first gender and birth order. You only consider the second gender. We put omegas last in the line as they attract much more suitors than a beta or alpha which makes the omegas seem troublesome. The throne would go to the eldest alpha, then to any other alpha childrens in their birth order, then to the eldest beta and any other beta children and finally to the eldest omega and then the other omega children.
Another example: omega daughter, alpha daughter, male alpha, beta son and beta daughter in that order.
Monarch - alpha daughter - male alpha - beta son - beta daughter - omega daughter
